I have stayed in many Macdonald hotels but this is definitely one of the best the outstanding staff can't do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. Excellent spacious room in the main building. Only criticism is the water pressure which is quite poor. Very good breakfasts and we also enjoyed one evening meal. Very attentive friendly staff Collapse

We decided to take a short overnight break to relax and the drive was slightly more than expected but that was my fault! The staff here were absolutely attentive to Our requirements and especially in the main bar area. Both members of the Team could not have treated my Wife and I and better. Would highly recommend just trying the bar if these two are on. We had a fabulous stay and would recommend this place. Enjoy! Collapse

Stayed with my wife for 2 night midweek break £121 room only, room 103. Ansty Hall is an 18th century country house set in 8 acres of beautiful grounds. The gardens truely are superb. Situated a couple of miles from M6 junction2. In the small village of Ansty with a municipal golf course just around the corner. Our room 103 was in the annex, a large double room with a massive bed and 4 piece bathroom, shower and separate bath. Nicely furnished, not keen on floral curtains but they were good quality and kept the light out. This is a nice hotel and worthy of its 4 stars. Staff were efficient and polite. We did not eat here as breakfast was £19 each and diner would have cost about £30 each for 3 courses. We chose to eat at the "Sparrow" the local brewers fare pub about a mile down the road where a 3 course meal for 2 was under£20. Drinks ar Ansty Hall Are the same price as the local pub £7:80 for 2 pints. We went into Coventry for breakfast, the Weatherspoons in the centre, I think called "The Flying Stadard." Poached eggs and salmon on a muffin and coffee for about£4 is hard to beat. We went to the Transport Museum in Coventry which is free and worth a visit. Didn't bother walking around the Cathedral.£6 each to walk around a modern church that should realy allow free access to all! All in all a nice couple of days in a nice hotel Collapse

We stayed in the Stopford Annexe and were very worried when we saw that our room overlooked the function room. How wrong were we! We slept like babies, we heard very minimal sound from the functions. Breakfast was made to order and nice. This was really a flying visit as we checked in late and checked out early. Wished we could have stayed longer. Collapse
Very hot room and poor shower, pity about breakfast.

Stayed in an executive room at the corner of the main house, on the first floor. The room was not overly large but well furnished. The bed was soft and so were the pillows. Tea and coffee, as well as biscuits. One bottle of still and sparkling water provided. No fridge. We were there for a wedding and the room overlooked the function room, so by the time we got back to out room the music had stopped. However, the room has single glazing and the night was wet, so I think we were lucky with noise. Woken up by people moving around about 6.30am. There was a small safe in the cupboard, as well as an iron and ironing board. Room was clean but very stuffy and warm. No air con. Bathroom clean and tidy but lacked water pressure, so the shower was useless. Breakfast was, by usual hotel standards poor. Scrabbled egg, beans, tomatoes, bacon and sausage were in heated trays. Small selector of cereals, with bowls that only held one weetabix! There was cheese and ham, fresh fruit but no fresh bread. There was a basket that held crossiants, but that was empty. Toast was supplied if asked for but arrived flat on a plate and was little toasted and cold. I expected more. Yougurts, fresh bread, freshly milled pepper. Oh, there was a selection of fruit juices but you had to guess what they were by colour as they were unlabled. Tea and coffee came from large jugs, but no decaff coffee on offer. There seemed to be only a single young man on duty and he didn't seem to cope very well. WiFi was good and fast. Easy to log on. Freeview TV. Don't forget to get the code from reception to exit the car park Collapse
