The king bed was a lumpy, but once I changed sides, I slept better. Breakfast £15 extra, but worth it. Music in the restaurant, especially at breakfast, was like being in a night club. When I asked for it to be turned down (only 4 people in the dining room), it crept up again. Same issue when eating two dinners there too. And I’m deaf in one ear! The light in the bathroom was flickering, and though I asked for it to be fixed, it wasn’t. Service was good, and dinner meals were also tasty. Collapse

I stayed at London Marriott West India Quay from 31st December - 1st January for New Years Eve. It was myself and sister and we had a pleasant time. We checked in around 7pm and it was a seamless service, the hotel itself is stunning. We were greeted by the doorman once our taxi pulled up to the hotel and had our luggage taken straight to the front desk. We were given a room on the Mezzanine floor which we didn’t mind (I often request rooms with a view or in a higher floor, but in this instance, we just wanted to get into our room asap). In order to access any floor, you need to insert your keycard once in the lift which I think is a fantastic way to monitor security and reduce random people walking into the hotel. I stayed in room 70, and the room itself was huge (I am big on space when travelling). Our room was front facing of the hotel so we had a view of the DLR train tracks which I didn’t mind (windows are huge which I love when staying in hotels). The room is modern and comes with all amenities. Ample wardrobe space, fully stocked mini bar, iron & ironing board and a great lounger. Bathroom is a good size too and shower is easy to operate. The hotel is located next to Canary Wharf so we had a NYE dinner outside of the hotel and went for a walk across the bridge and into the shopping mall. Our room rate also included breakfast which I have to say was great. There is a hot buffet and continental option. Presentation is fantastic and we were promptly seated. Try and opt for your room rate to include breakfast as it’s around £22 per person which becomes steep if you are visiting with 4/5 people. My only criticism of my stay were the hotel bed sheets. Our sheets smelt so badly of bleach (which we didn’t realise until we had got into bed after returning from dinner) that I was unable to sleep and once I did get to sleep, I woke up the following morning with face a rash. Upon checkout, I didn’t have the opportunity to let staff know about the sheets as we were in a rush but hopefully they have a read of this review. Apart from this, the hotel is superb. I would honestly recommend to all groups (family, friends, business). Tip: the particular room I stayed in faces the front of the hotel. Lampposts outside of the hotel are extremely bright during the night and even though the curtains were drawn, the brightness did wake me up. Make sure your curtains are as closed as possible to reduce the street lights blaring into your room. Collapse

We spent a single night at the hotel, this time on Boxing day, some 4 months after our previous stay. The hotel's lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Check in at 13:00 was quick and short - our room was still not ready and we had to wait in the lounge. After an hour or so, we decided to go out to Greenwich, and only upon our return at 16:00 - our room was finally ready. We were allocated the exact same room as last time - room 624, which is a 41 square meters studio suite. The room featured a king bed, an open sofa bed, a tv, desk and chair, a coffee table with 2 chairs, a coffee machine, minibar and safe. This time, there was also a decorated Christmas tree in the room. We also received a lovely welcome gift - a letter, soft drinks, a piece of cake and some sweets. The large bathroom featured a toilet, a small sink, a bath tub (with a curtain, unfortunately) and a tiny shower. The toiletries were Gilchrist&Soames, We had our breakfast at Manhattan Grill, and it was pretty average. I've written a separate review about it. The 24/7 Club lounge on the 7th floor featured all day drinks and nibbles, nice afternoon cakes and sandwiches and a very hectic and crowded evening canapes and drinks. The lounge is obviously too small for THAT many people. After 22:00, the lounge features some fruit leftovers and soft and hot drinks. Bottom line - another lovely stay at this nice hotel. Collapse
