The London Marriott Kensington is in a good location, and within walking distance to Earl’s Court underground station. The staff of this hotel are friendly, nice, and efficient. Location and staff are the highlights of this hotel. The rooms, however, are not good. My room at this hotel is the worst Marriott room I’ve experienced. The rooms are clean, but the rooms are: 1. Very small for the cost (around $300 USD per night). 2. The furniture is so old and outdated, except for the new desk chair. This furniture seems to be from the late 1980’s. 3. The yellow carpet is worn and dingy. 4. The bathtub/shower in the WC is an extremely high step up and the handle bar inside takes up several inches of space causing you to either need to touch the bar or the shower curtain while showering. Who uses a bathtub at a hotel anyway? They should replace the bathtubs with nicely appointed showers. The ceiling in the bathtub is molded and falling down. 5. No power outlets beside the bed. It’s all about value- what you get for the price paid. I travel at least 1/2 half the year around the world. I have stayed in $5 per night hotels in Asia. My standard is set by the value the hotel delivers. A $5 per night hotel is expected to deliver a $5 value. However, this hotel is 227 GBP per night (over $300 USD per night) and is a complete rip off. This hotel is a poor value and extremely expensive for what you get. The Holiday Inn Kensington Forum is located just steps away from here for 131 GBP per night. Also, there’s an Ibis Styles nearby that’s also a cute hotel for 189 GBP per night. I’m a Titanium member with Bonvoy and they gave me the smallest room in the hotel. The Marriott is in the process of remodeling, so hopefully they’ll make big improvements to the rooms. Until then, I do not recommend this hotel. Collapse

Bar staff were great and breakfast was ok, though I have had better quality ingredients. Been twice and would definitely come again. Collapse

Room was nice and clean, would def. stay here again. Collapse

I stay at Marriott hotels quite frequently because their hotels are usually up to certain standard and you know what to expect. I can't say the same about this Marriott at Kensington. It was absolutely awefull. The room has old furniture and old smell, it seems that they ran out of scent diffusers. The bathroom was the worst, there was actually a particularly unpleasant odor. When we went to bed, we realized there was this horrible, loud buzzing noise coming from somewhere. Our air conditioner was turned off at the time, when we turned it on, the noise became so much louder that we realized the source of initial noise was from the air conditioner next door. It was extremely disturbing. In the morning I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out how to turn on water in the shower. There are instructions there that don't actually work, I still have no idea how it works. The shower was really bad. The only great thing about this hotel was the extremely friendly staff, especially the bartenders. They go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. This hotel is in urgent need of serious renovation! I have no idea how they can charge $250/night for this hotel and get away with it. Collapse
Fabulous team...all of them!

Brief stay concluded this morning. Went to the lobby at 5:30 AM for coffee, requested soy milk (not expecting to get it before the kitchens were open), front desk person went away and came back 5 minutes later with soy milk. It gets better, at breakfast around 7:00 AM (busy time) my wife requested some spinach sauteed in oil as we were not getting many greens with meals...the chef (Tibor) asked us to wait 5 minutes and came back with a huge all green salad (see photo) together with 3 different choices of salad dressing! Unbelievable...you ask this team to jump and all they say is "How high?". My point in the details is simply that from check-in to check-out every interaction with this team was superb, nothing was too much trouble, they under promised and over delivered consistently. Thanks to all, we will be back! Notable team members: Tibor, Jamie Saunders, Filippo Targhetta, Sophie, Georgios Diamantakis Collapse
