Excellent vacation. Use the Express passes. Split your days. Mornings for the parks and pool afterwards. Citywalk at night is great,. Restaurants are many and food is good. Hard Rock café my favorite.

We just finished a 5 night stay at the Royal Pacific and would definitely recommend it. Little touches like the staff welcoming you with "Aloha!" or giving leis to my family when we checked in enhanced the experience. I loved the ability to text a question and get a response within a few minutes. That was VERY helpful. The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly, and the location is maybe a 6 minute walk to Islands of Adventure. It is absolutely worth staying here for the Express Pass and the Early Admission alone. The Express pass comes with staying at Royal Pacific free of charge and can save you HOURS of waiting in line at Universal. The Early Admission lets you go to either Islands' Harry Potterworld or Studios' Harry Potterworld (for our stay it was Islands all week) an hour before they open the park. These perks are immense! My one problem with the Royal Pacific was that they advertise free transportation to Seaworld and Aquatica, which is true. However you have to book those tickets in advance and hoof it to the Universal Hub past Citywalk to catch that bus. Not as convenience as we might have liked. Also the Royal Pacific does not have transportation to Discovery Cove, so plan accordingly. The hotel restaurant which serves breakfast is expensive but ok; we were really disappointed in the hotel restaurant named "Jakes." (see separate review) The pool is nice but the water gets very warm during the obscenely hot August days in Florida. One of the best things about the Royal Pacific is that it is a little bit away from the parks and Citywalk, so quieter than say the Hard Rock hotel. All in all a great choice for Universal vacations. Just returned from a four night stay at the Pacific Royal. Overall, the stay was very nice. Location could not be beat. Short water taxi ride or walk away from City Walk and the two theme parks. Having express pass included in our tickets was a great perk. Also, it was great to be able to return to the room in the middle of the day to rest during the most crowded and hottest part of the day. Staff were friendly at every turn. Had some trouble connecting my phone to the wifi and all was resolved in one phone call. The front staff were very nice and very helpful with unloading the car and getting luggage to and from the room. Room itself was comfortable and served its purpose: to provide a place to crash after an exhausting day in the parks. A couple of issues keep me from rating this resort as five stars. One, parking should be included in the nightly rate. It is off putting to pay a great deal for money for our trip, to be confronted with a parking fee. Up the price per night by a few dollars and include parking. Also, there needs to be improvement to the ticketing system. We were given a lot of little pieces of paper to keep up with. Room key, admission ticket, express pass, meal card. The quality of the admission and express tickets were especially poor, given how many times they had to be shown going through the parks. Spend a few more cents and have a better quality ticket. The express pass printing system was down and when my express pass got wet, I could not get another one printed and ended up using my room key. Which brings me to another area of improvement. Again, we spent a considerable amount of money to come here. Haven't been on the property 30 minutes and here we are, needing to shell out close to $10 a pop for a lanyard to keep up with all the tickets we were given. And they were barely large enough for everything to fit and are not waterproof. Again, it would be better psychologically for the lanyards to be given out at check-in instead of leaving guests feeling nickel dimed as soon as on property. Collapse

Have been coming to universal hotels for many years..previously stayed in Hard Rock . check in area and lounge bars are very attractive and welcoming..however.on my last weeks 4 day stay (which i booked 4 months ago) we were placed in tower 2 on ground floor..this was a room with special needs acesses..while i had no problem with this I noticed a humidifier which was on all day every day in the corridor...the problem was the smell ..it was horrible. A smell of damp and decay.. first we thought it was a doggy smell as there were quite a few of them around ..Im sorry people but for the price you charge .this is not acceptable..The jury is still out on me returning in the future... I was sent to a conference in Orlando l, Fl and the conference was at Loews Royal Pacific Resort. We stayed there for the week and the trip was great. The staff was great, breakfast was good, and the rooms were excellent. While my family enjoyed Universal Studios, I attended the conference which was in the resort itself. Food served was good but a little different, vegan cookies and such. This resort was the first resort that I had been to and it was very pretty. If I had to change any thing it would be the following: 1. prices are high but that's to be expected at a place like this, 2. Parking was a challenge of sorts and the road going into the actual resort was hard to find/congested with other cars, valet parking was an issue and the signs didn't direct people well for those that weren't valet parking. Also, the first morning there the main breakfast area was hard to find. We actually found the express breakfast place first because it was in the lobby. Everything had to be purchased like a lunch line in school where the main breakfast area was on he bottom floor where it was more of a restaurant. Location of things were off but I guess that is expected. Would I go again? Yes. Cheers! Collapse
