just returned home after 3 day stay in Liverpool, we booked the Marriott for its location as it is near the train station, We received a lovely friend welcome when we checked in and 1 of the party was celebrating her birthday the hotel had placed balloons and a card in her room this was a lovely touch. The rooms are spacious and very clean air con great and not at all noisy lovely fluffy towels and toiletries provided in you room along with teas coffee and biscuits these are topped up daily we did request more milk and it was put in our room without any hassle, We did use the bar for drinks before venturing out plenty of selection of drinks. Breakfast very good cereal. fruit yoghurts fully cooked ( help yourself) you can order omelettes if you fancy food piping hot and very friendly staff in dining area. We used the sauna and steam room this was so relaxing as there are loungers around the pool for you to chill out. I wish I could remember the staff names as they were so friendly and just lovely " well done Marriott " We will be back , Collapse

Stayed here for a one night break having stayed here for a work event many years ago.. Check in was smooth , the receptionist was polite and friendly. We didn't stay in the hotel that evening we went for a walk into the town and visited a restaurant and a few bars whilst out and visited the Docks before returning late. It was a bit noisy on our floor about 11ish onwards as lots of people were returning to their rooms and a lot of doors seemed to bang for a while assuming these were a group of people all returning at once or had been at an event in the hotel. Didn't bother us too much as was awake watching tv.The Room was fine apart from the kettle not working which we wasn't too bothered about as it was quite a hot weekend and we got coffee for our breakfast in the restaurant. Also the internal door lock didn't work but we didn't feel unsafe . The bathroom was very clean and of a good size and the shower was very good and powerful. We didn't visit the hotel restaurant that evening however we visited for breakfast the next morning and it was fine, all the staff were pleasant, hardworking and friendly and the breakfast was to a good standard. Didn't get to check out the pool or spa facilities as other half forgot his swim gear and it seems that you couldn't go into the leisure club without pressing the bell and waiting for someone to serve you so couldn't just nip in to see if they sold swim gear so we left it th.is time Hotel location is in a good position for Liverpool Lime street train station, liverpool one area and not too far for a walk down to the Albert Docks.Would stay again. Anyone looking to book this hotel please be aware it is EXTRMELY dated! At first glance walking in the lobby is nice and modern with gloss floor and doodles of Liverpool landmarks. The rooms however are to complete polar opposite. This room was originally booked for my parents to attend a gig however the concert was cancelled and Marriott would not let them cancel or change the date of the booking - fair enough. On checking in my mum politely asked if we could have a twin room instead as I am currently 7 months pregnant - this was refused. The man at reception simply said no we don’t have any twins. You can upgrade to a room with two double beds but this will incur a £20 charge - ridiculous; the hotel was hardly busy and the fact he then reduced this to £15 (still no reason why they couldn’t move us to an EMPTY room) proved it. My mum then asked if he could do it for £10 to which she was laughed at in the face and told ‘it doesn’t work like that’ - well it’s just dropped by £5 so it clearly does work like that?! Finally got up to our room which looks like something out of a 1950s film... The bathroom just as bad with stationary shower and awful curtain that sticks to you while you try to get showered. Read upon booking we would have bottled water in our room - not to be seen at all so went to Tesco and purchased our own. Attempted to plug my phone in to charge up, had to drag the bedside table out of the tiny gap between the bed and wardrobe, only to find that the plug socket has circular holes and doesn’t take a standard UK plug?! To top it all off there is constant noise from some boiler or something next to our room. I regularly come to Liverpool and have stayed in many different hotels and apartments, I can safely say I will not be returning to the Marriott. It is definitely in need of a revamp and some modernising!!! Collapse

Stayed here for a weekend with friends. Hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Liverpool. Check in was a bit messy as there was a lot of confusion about rooms as they were booked through an intermedary. Got sorted eventually, then told that all rooms were doubles and we had requested all Twin rooms. We were told that the hotel dont do twins but they have a sofa bed in the double room that can be made up for £20 extra per night. So £40 per room extra for the weekend? Rooms are very cosy with safe in room and plenty of toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities in room . Also iron and ironing board. Breakfast is always good in the Marriott hotel chain and this was no different. There was a Chef waining ready to cook you an omelette or eggs any way you want. Staff in the resturant were really nice and friendly. I would reccomend this hotel as the location is excellent and if you get a good price then book it. Collapse
