For a hotel of this reputation, I was not very impressed. We had good service in the crowded check in area and actually we had good service 90% of the time. The WiFi situation is atrocious. It took 4 calls (we were hung up in 3x and then connected with the offsite IT people). The room was very hot but the only way to control the temp was to call housekeeping and have them open the window. We were high up so the noise wasn’t bad but that’s hardly a great solution for a supposedly luxury hotel. There was no coffee, water or blow dryer in our room—again, for a “luxury” hotel, this was disappointing. With so many other choices in New York, I’ll see other venues before returning. Collapse

The room should have had the following, which was advertised when we paid through Expedia: Hotel Amenities Hotel Amenities Spa services on site Terrace Hair salon Breakfast available (surcharge) Fitness facilities Number of restaurants - 5 Full-service spa Gift shops or newsstand Indoor pool 24-hour front desk Total number of rooms - 729 Free WiFi Show all hotel amenities Family Friendly Amenities Indoor pool Free Wi-Fi Refrigerator Microwave Internet Available in all rooms: Free WiFi Available in some public areas: Free WiFi Parking Valet parking (surcharge) Room Amenities Free newspaper In-room climate control (air conditioning) Phone Microwave Refrigerator Minibar Daily housekeeping Designer toiletries Private bathroom Bathrobes Hair dryer Slippers There was NOTHING, none of the above. There are no drinks in the room, no coffee for the morning and not even mineral water to drink. I have stayed in many 4 star hotels and this was terrible! To not even be given water is shocking! The hotel was reluctant to offer anything telling us we had not paid for extra. They basically dumped a fridge and a microwave in the corner of the room which was an eye sore. There is NO mini bar in the room. The photos show a clean modern hotel, this is a little unkempt. I would not stay here again!! Collapse

I booked the Parker while it was still under SPG, for a Valentines Day trip from London with my wife. Thankfully, the ownership honoured my SPG booking and we had a junior suite on one of the higher floors. The room itself was nice and spacious, and very comfortable. I particularly liked the spinning tv between the lounge and bedroom. However, there weren’t any tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, no safe, and no bathrobes or slippers - which we thought was very unusual and a bit of a pain given we were on the 29th floor. In terms of the hotels facilities, well, given the size of the hotel, I’m surprised it doesn’t have more of a bar area and greater choice of restaurants. It does have a burger bar (the burgers were delicious) but be prepared for a long queue. The bar is cosy and the high ceilings are magnificent, but it’s not somewhere you would spend a lot of time, particularly as it is also a back entrance, and feels like a sidewalk at times. The pool is very cool although quite small, so be prepared if there are a lot of children. The views from the pool are great though. The gym and spa facilities in the basement are extensive and the gym is massive. If you’re going for a massage, book some time in advance though as the therapists come from outside town. We had issues because of this, and to be honest, we found the staff pretty unhelpful and rude. So overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location is excellent, but there are definitely elements the hotel needs to address, not least the prices, which are expensive (even by NYC standards). Not sure if we’ll be back......... Collapse

We came from San Francisco for six glorious days in New York. Carnegie Hall is on the same block as the Parker New York.. Lincoln Center is a 10-minute walk. MOMA and Central Park are 5-minute walks. The rooms are elegant and the service is impeccable. The hotel is also known for the best breakfast in New York. In short, the Parker New York will be our New York "home." Collapse

I booked this property one year ago and cancelled prior to traveling to NYC. I was shocked to find a cancellation charge on my CC. I mentioned that I never received a welcoming email from the property confirming my upcoming stay and they actually produced a bogus email I never received (and yes I did check my spam). After going back and forth with the Starwood (no help), American Express and the property, customer relations was trying to resolve the situation amicably. I requested a one-night stay for what I was charged for and then nothing - no communication, no response, no room This is poor customer service so beware before booking. Collapse
