Our hotel was excellent. There were so many activities throughout the day, a bar that ran late enough to have snacks throughout the day and sunbeds and unbrellas to rent too. Only negative I had with the place was a lack of sunbeds, I think it was just too busy but there were still quite a few people bathing on the floor on towels. Costa Adeje is a family friendly place, we went as mates and went out in Plays de las Americas every night but I think it works for any type of holiday as there are activities right next door, or just a few euros in a taxi and your there :) Collapse

Had a good holiday here. Don't listen to the negative reviews. We came with no preconceptions and were pleasantly surprised. It's cheap and cheerful. The food is basic but plentiful. The pool good and The entertainment there is great especially for families. The apartments are basic but kept very clean by the staff. All the staff are friendly. It is elevated high up and the complex is situated on a steep hill which would make it challenging to some people, but it'll keep you fit! For us it was what we needed chill out! Xxx Collapse

This was a great holiday. We came with no expectations and where really surprised with what we got. Room was basic but comfortable. Food again when you go all inclusive is good. Pool and entertainment was great. Hotel is situated on a hill and it is about a 20min walk to the beach. Probably 30min back up the hills to the hotel. There's plenty to do. Staff are really friendly and we had a great time. Again though it's a cheap holiday so don't expect whistles and bells. What you see is what you get. Collapse
Dangerous practices with food, theft, beyond incompetent staff. It really IS that bad, do not ignore the reviews

Just returned from this place after 1 week all inclusive.(never done it before) The pictures looked lovely online when booking, didn't take notice of poor reviews, wished I had. Location and layout is just awful but we coped with that. It was the food and the practices of the kitchen that is beyond shocking. The kitchen re-heat food constantly, what they put out for lunch they reheat for dinner and not just one day, 2,3,4 days the same food in different guises. I know this because I spoke to one of the waiters who told me they know its a problem due to the complaints they get, and have asked the kitchen but nothing changes. Fish, Paella (rice), meats (you couldn't even describe what kind they were), sauces, all put out at lunch (11.45am) and then re-heated for dinner on a daily basis. Desserts which are thawed then re-frozen for 1,2,3 days in a row. Tuna pasties which were put out for bar food by the pool, (11.30am) sat all day there and served again at dinner in the restaurant. The cold foods such as salads, etc. were not 'cold', they are sat a room temperature (no air conditioning in restaurant btw) for hours. The only meal that we could actually eat something was breakfast time, you can't go wrong with toast really! After speaking to locals in the town we quickly established that this place has an awful reputation, they tell people that their sister hotel (Laguna Park 1) is slightly better. And we were also told that the kitchen is allocated 3 euros per day to feed each individual, so that's 3 euros per day per person for breakfast, lunch and dinner.......... it explains why the kitchen had such bad practices, its all about cost savings During our time there last week there were 3 robberies from customers rooms, and in all cases the management of the hotel did nothing to assist those poor people, they didn't investigate, call the police, nothing! in fact one of those incidents, they actually told the lady, her partner and her children to leave the resort (she kicked up a fight over it, they didn't believe her) I was witness to that lady having to leave the following morning, it was disgusting. Countless customers complaining about cockroaches in their rooms (not talking about 1 or 2) Customers being allocated rooms whereby had already been taken, one poor guy came off a late night flight, told to go to his room location, got there to find people there, their belongings, passports, everything already in that room, he then had to walk back up the hill to reception to confront the hapless manager who had no idea what to do about it as it was so late at night. When i did make a complaint they give you a form to complete, they take a photocopy and that's the end of it. There is no rationale, no explanation, nothing........ lets be honest here, they don't give a dam as their business is cattle market, get as many people in, serve them s**t, put up with their complaining and then get them out again......... that's it. There is no attention to detail, there is no customer care, there is no regard for real Health and Safety which is probably the most worrying thing of all. No doubt I will get a generic response from the hotel quoting me some statistic about their food and how x amount of their customers are 110% satisfied........ but I'm telling you now, for the money you will pay for your holiday (and its not cheap as we all know) there are numerous places in the area which are more central, can provide decent food to its paying customers, professional and personable. Think twice about this place......... Collapse
It's not all that bad, ignore bad reviews!

Just got back from a 10 day holiday. There were 8 of us. 6 adults, 2 children. I was really worried about going to this place after reading the mixed reviews, especially the ones relating to 'infested cockroaches' as I am a very squeamish person with insects / creatures. We saw 3 in our apartment for the duration we were there, and they weren't as bad as people make out. The free spray they provide you sorts them out easy enough. Our apartment was cleaned every other day (4 times) whilst we were there, we had clean sheets and fresh towels. Yes the rooms are a bit out dated, but they are clean and very spacious. The balcony is huge. Yes the complex is located on a hill, it clearly states this on the information when booking. We loved it though! The views were fantastic! Especially when the sun is setting. And the walk back up it isn't again as bad as people make out. We walked down and back up most days, people are just too lazy!! Taxi's though are cheap enough. The pool and sunbed area is brilliant. Plenty of sunbeds to lounge on, although the day we left they were all full (summer holidays though, this is expected) the pool is huge! Plenty of room for inflatables. The only downside for us was the food. We were all inclusive and the food wasn't great. It was edible but really not very nice and there wasn't a great deal of choice, we ate out every night even though we were all inclusive, we still had our moneys worth with drinks though. Another downside was the entertainment. It wasn't very entertaining, and they repeat the same thing. They didn't even play music very loud or have any disco lights etc.. I recommend a karaoke!! Also no air con in the apartment, just a ceiling fan which was ok for us, but for my son sleeping on the sofa, it got a bit too hot at night for him. Overall really enjoyed our time here, great holiday, lovely weather. Would go back at the price we paid. Ignore the bad reviews because it really isn't that bad, at the end of the day you get what you pay for, if you want nicer food, air con etc.. the pay a bit more and go to a 4 / 5 * Collapse

Our first family holiday in the sun... We booked via On the Beach - we asked for airport assistance as our son has ASD and ADHD. On arrival, we were given a lanyard for him to wear which was for people with invisible disabilities. We were told all airport staff would recognise it and would help us. We were thrilled at this, but unfortunately found it not to be the case. We still had to keep asking people to help at each hurdle and few recognised the lanyard and what it symbolised. The flight was great. Although we were late going out, the pilot made up most of the time and the landing was the smoothest we had ever experienced. The transfer to the hotel was great, as we were anticipating that the driving style might be far from what we were use to but we were pleasantly surprised. Laguna Park 2 was like Butlins in the Sun. It was a little run down but was very clean and there was low level maintenance being carried out all of the time. Our room was clean and comfortable. We only saw two cockroaches during the whole week. The bedding was clean and the beds comfortable. The apartment had most things and towels were refreshed every couple of days. The house keeping staff were very friendly and very helpful. The only thing missing was a hair-dryer. There was a lovely balcony with furniture and a drying rack - perfect after a day at the pool or beach. The room had a safe that could be hired for a refundable charge of 5 Euro. The balcony door didn't lock but once we had the safe, we were not too worried as we knew that our valuables were OK. The fan in the bedroom was fantastic as the rooms got really hot over the day. The fan helped to facilitate a comfortable night's sleep. The daily entertainment programme was fantastic - throughout the day there was aqua gym, football, darts, table-tennis, water polo....it was just a shame that all inclusive guests still had to pay for the hire of tennis rackets, golf clubs/balls for mini-golf and table tennis bats. It would have been nice to have been able to pay a returnable deposit for these items. On an evening, there was bingo, a quiz, a family disco (which the kids loved) and then a turn or a visit from a local group - reptiles, birds of prey, etc. The food was poor quality but there was a good deal of choice. It was not so bad if you got there early when everything was fresh. If you arrived later, then there would be little left or the food was cold. Some meat products were undercooked and others were dry and tasteless. We did manage to find something we like most days and there was always fresh salad if everything else failed. The drinks were OK but you were only allowed to get a small plastic cup at any time. You could not take two and could not fill up your own bottles or use pint glasses. It was very tedious walking backwards and forwards constantly whether at the pool during the day or at the bar at night. The only drinks that were easily accessible were the fizzy drinks (from a machine) and the lager. All of the spirits were behind the bar and you had to ask for them. As the night went on the queues would become huge as there were only ever 2 bar staff on. This certainly saved the hotel some money! The shower in the room was amazing. It was powerful and hot. Most of the games in the games room were not working but it was not a surprise as the staff would fix them and almost immediately unsupervised kids would go in and start smashing them up and climbing all over them. On one of the evenings, the staff went into the toilet in the bar to do the regular checks. Both ladies noticed that someone had vomited all over the bathroom floor. They stood and had a discussion about it and then walked away, leaving it there all night. We enjoyed taking part in the bingo and even won a bottle of wine but we were disappointed that there were no prizes for the kids who won, they just carried the game on after a round of applause - a let down for the young ones! There is a water park just around the corner and the beach is a short distance away. You could get on the daily courtesy bus but it was just as easy to walk. Take care to avoid the people selling anything and everything down by the beach - they are everywhere and are very persistent. The beach was amazing and you could hire a life vest for 15 Euro which would enable children to go and use all of the inflatables in the sea. Back at the hotel - there were plenty of sunbeds for everyone and umbrellas were free. There were signs up asking guests not to put towels on sunbeds to claim them - but they didn't enforce this and you did have to get in early to get the best spots. The water in the pool was cold but this was most welcome as the day time temperatures were 26-29 degrees. Try not to leave things on the table if you are in the bar as someone stole my Rubix Cube when I visited the bathroom. Cheeky devils! All in all we had a lovely week but if we went again we would avoid the all-inclusive element and would eat out. There were plenty of bars and cafes and they had a range of quality food and drink on offer. 1.50 for a pint of lager and 2.50 for a ham and cheese toastie with chips. 3 Euro for a cooked breakfast, toast and tea - much better quality than at the hotel. The bar staff were not as friendly as the housekeeping staff and two of them tutted at my hubby when he asked for change - despite having a bag full at hand. The ride back to the airport was not as good. The chap kept yawning and was not concentrating on the road ahead. It was quite a terrifying ride back. We would definitely return to Tenerife but would select a hotel even closer to the beach and would not go all-inclusive. Collapse
