We stayed 2 nights at JW Marriott Venice and everything was perfect! We met Giulia and Glaucia at the front desk and they explained everything we could do on the island. Glaucia has showed us every parts while driving us on a golf cart. We had a premium room at « La Residenza » with a private outdoor jacuzzi, king size bed, a wonderful bathroom and a perfect view on Venice in our private garden. It was an upgrade from our initial reservation and it met all of our expectations. The room, its intimacy and the atmosphere of the whole resort helped me to make my wedding proposal on the first evening and it was a big YES! We had a Spritz near the rooftop pool just before and we had the pleasure to see the sun go down which is more than romantic. The whole JW Marriott Venice team made our stay unbelievable and perfect. The housekeeping team went on the last day to give us a very nice gift. Everybody was so kind and lovely!! We miss them already. We’ll be back in a few years and I really recommend the resort of you’re looking for intimacy, romance, peace from your venice day walks and comfort. We tried room service and breakfasts, the food was amazing!! It really helped us to get through the days untill 2pm. Thank you so much to everyone we met, you’ve done an incredible job and we hope to meet you again!:) Merci beaucoup, nous n’oublirons pas vos sourires qui sont plus que des cadeaux. Vous êtes fantastiques!! Collapse

Stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely place. Have to commend the staff during the breakfast who are all so friendly. Special mentioned to Elena who remembered what we liked every morning and always had a pleasant smile and spoke very well too.

I'm loyal to the Marriott brand and had a ba-gillion Marriott points to burn so it was between this property and the Marriott on the actual island of Venice. My wife and I had our reservations about staying "off the main island of Venice" and wondered, "would we get the true Venice experience staying on a separate island". Omg... the answer is yes and we are SO glad we stayed here. First off, as others have said, the actual islands of Vencie are a mess of thousands of tourists, cruise ship day trippers, etc etc. I wasn't sure about the whole "it's nice to come back to your own island at the end of the day" thing... but let me tell you, it's SO nice to come back to your own island at the end of the day. When I was sitting on my couch at home in California planning this trip, I doubted if this were actually important - but believe me, this is SO great. After walking all day, bumping into fellow tourists and seeing, hearing Nf smelling Venice, coming back to the JW resort is actually somewhat of a relief. You DO have to somewhat plan around the shuttle. They say the shuttle runs every 30 minutes but when we were there, it was every 30 minutes including BOTH ways. Meaning it ran on the hour FROM the resort and on the half hour TO the resort. Worry not fellow traveler, it's a small price to pay. The resort is beautiful. I read a few reviews that said it was "sterile" or referenced that it used to be a sanitarium. Uhhh.. HUH? No, it's beautiful. You walk in the lobby and it's immaculate, and smells amazing! When you check in, you sit down and get to know the front desk clerk during the process. They chat with you, ask about your trip and demonstrate true concern for your experience. Seriously, this is a beautiful place. I stay over 100 nights a year in Marriot and SPG properties for work so I earn a lot of "points". As a result, I spend a lot of points as I did on my stay here. I judge a property on how it treats me when I'm staying on points since it's basically a "freebee". Here, I was treated like a VIP (which I am not) and noticed no difference from when I stay somewhere paying full price. This is a good sign. The only two downsides to the property - 1. There is NO market on the island or place where you can buy toiletries or even a snack or beverage beyond what's in your in-room mini bar. You're literally "on a island" but one with no store. One evening, I wanted a diet soda (the mini fridge in my room only had regular sodas) so.i had to go downstairs to the bar (which was closed at the time) and wait 5 minutes for an employee to walk by and help me. 2. The food and drinks at the resort are EXTREMELY expensive. Again, you're on an island so they have no competition and you have no options. I am not particularly sensitive to high prices but they border on outrageous here. The restaurant upstairs has an 8 euro PER PERSON cover charge, even during the day. While a "coperto" Is common in Italy, 8 euro PER PERSON is high, especially when an anti pasti appetizer costs 26 euro (about 34 American dollars). But it's worth noting that despite the high prices, the food is EXCELLENT. Just be prepared. You get what you pay for and despite me pointing out the high prices, I do think they are commensurate with the quality and luxury being provided. Lastly, the service. The people who work here are OUTSTANDING. Really. We had several interactions with a young gal (I think her name was Ana), she grew up in Venice and was SO pleasant and helpful. We kept running into her during our stay and she made us feel so welcomed and as if we were old friends. I travel all over the world and I was so impressed with the staff here. Bottom line - you can't put a price on impeccable service, surroundings and getting to get away from the madness of Vencie very evening. But if you could, it would be whatever the price is to stay at the JW Marriott in Venice. Stay there and thank me later! Collapse

We visited for three nights in late March and felt like we had the island to ourselves. We booked the Uliveto De Luxe room with a church view and a lovely patio area. There were two separate bathroom areas: one with a sink, toilet and bidet and the other with two sinks and a shower/tub. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and quiet--a nice repose from the hectic and tourist overrun Venice. The sunset views from the bar/restaurant were not to be missed. It was convenient to take the water shuttle to and fro the hotel. Only complaint: We wish the water bus ran earlier than 9 am. Collapse
