We had a wonderful stay at the JW. The property is beautiful and it is nice to have a relaxing get away after exploring Venice during the day and/or night. The boat ride is nice from the JW to Venice. It is only 20 minutes and goes back and forth every 1/2 hour. The service at the hotel was great. The server, Turgut, in the Rosebar was wonderful. The setting on the 4th floor of the hotel is amazing. The pool area and restaurant has a beautiful view of Venice. Collapse

We had an amazing seven days staying on the island, a beautiful setting to enjoy our romantic get away. The courtesy shuttle boat was great back and forth to explore the beautiful Venice at our Leisure. From the moment we arrived to the day we left our stay was made memorable by the staff who took great pleasure in making sure we were looked after. They exceeded expectations by the extra touches from a bottle of Champagne in our room to the special desert on the roof top Terrace booking an early taxi or just suggestions what to visit. The infinity pool over looking Venice was a spectacular. We would like to say a special thank you to Valentina for a wonderful welcome, Samantha and Daniel for there friendly and warm manner and special thanks also to Guila who each day ensured our stay was the best it could be. Thank you I would recommend this hotel clean , fabulous room ,well situated to suit all types of breaks and the food very good . Collapse

I had the pleasure of staying at this resort to celebrate my honeymoon and cannot be more pleased with the experience. Even prior to our stay, when we initially contacted the hotel, Ieva provided us with details on the many services the resort provides to help ensure our stay was perfect. Upon arriving we were greeted by kind Massimo who gave us a tour of the island and escorted us to the Uliveto, the building we stayed in. The accommodations were spotless, bed very comfortable, facilities well maintained, and lawns perfectly manicured. The entire team Gabriele, Rafael, Anna and Ieva were always available to answer questions and help us set up activities; a private transfer to Murano for a glass factory tour and a jazz club reservation, give details on shuttle to train station. The rooftop pool was amazing with a breathtaking view of the island and Venice. The breakfast buffet had a grand assortment of food options; from cereals, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Both my vegetarian husband and I came out pleased and full, ready to take on the day. One evening we dined at their rooftop restaurant Sagano and the food and wine was delicious. Overall we could not have been more satisfied with our stay, it was an even better decision staying here to relax and enjoy our vacation and going from and to the beautiful yet touristy Venice whenever we pleased. This is a beautiful hotel with lots of space. It's mostly pristine (although the main building could do with a paint outside, lots of water marks) and very well maintained internally. The rooms are extremely comfortable and have lots of light. Bed are gorgeously fluffy and I loved the Aromatherapy Associates toiletries. The corridors smell absolutely amazing too! It's lovely to walk around the olive trees in the grounds and we were delighted that our son could enjoy a swim in the rooftop adult pool with the amazing views back to Venice while we took in the view with a coffee in hand - perhaps this was only because the kids pool wasn't yet open for the season though. We carefully chose this hotel because we thought that a luxury speed boat trip would be the highlight of our day for our 7 yr old son and that it would be good to escape the madness of the Venetian crowds. Whilst we don't regret staying here and we did enjoy the free hourly transfer by boat, the inconvenience if we missed a boat by a couple of minutes (Venice isn't the easiest to navigate and we did get lost) outweighed the novelty of the boat ride and it wasn't really feasible to go in to Venice in the am, return to the hotel later then go back into Venice later. BUT...I can't put my finger on it but this place does seem to lack a soul...I found it to be a very sterile kind of luxury that didn't quite match the romance & passion of Venice itself. PS be prepared to pay handsomely. Venice isn't the cheapest of places and at 300 pounds per night, a stay here was never going to be cheap but I didn't expect a round of drinks here to hit over 40 pounds. You even have to pay to hire the bikes and there was no benefits, such as a welcome drink, that I'd expect (and enjoyed at other hotels and indeed JW Marriott resorts). For me, this hotel, at this price point, dind't quite deliver the experience I was hoping for. Collapse
