We definitely will come back next year! There`s no better place for family holidays. I can`t specify something because everything was ideal! We`re exited to see the changes after renovation of hotel. I`ll be back :)

We chose Jumeirah Beach Hotel as our hotel to spent 12 nights in, for our annual Dubai’s trip. I have been doing some reading prior to our trip about JBH on trip advisor, thus we had some expectations, however, after our trip I must say JBH exceeded most expectations we had. On our arrival, we have arranged for a complimentary hotel pickup. We were greeted by the hotel airport’s representative and escorted to our waiting car. Pick up vehicle was good and clean but the child seat provided was way too small to fit my 3 years old toddler, and there was no back up booster seat, so we decided to just make do without as it was getting late and everyone was tired. The driver was polite, drove well, and asked enough questions to make sure we were comfortable. Once we arrived at the hotel, despite the hotel was very busy upfront, concierge were quick to welcome us and unload our luggages promptly. Check in was pretty quick and without a hitch, not too long we were on our way to the room. The room that we had was one of the newly refurbished rooms. It was spacious with the lovely view of Burj Al Arab and the ocean (all the room have this view). The interior of bedroom was smartly designed to give out a clean and warm feeling (wooden accent walls, copper colored mirror, warm wall paint, hidden lights, yellow lightning, hidden beds) with plenty of storage spaces. All the lights and curtain in the room are controlled with touch of a button on panels located on each side of the bed. A housekeeper named Badaru came to help setting up the extra bed for my toddler, he pulled out a hidden single bed from the wall by the window. I think this is pretty neat feature to have!! He kindly showed us that each wall contained a single bed (these beds were floor height which is perfect if you have an active sleeper/s, to prevent serious injuries from falling)which is perfect for a family of 4 or even more! Unfortunately, we required one that can be placed closed by to the main bed, and Badaru made that happen in no time (he went and got us a separate movable extra bed) plus a couple of new friends for my son to spend the holiday with. The room has all the standard amenities (praying carpet, ironing board, iron, hairdryer) with fully stock mini bar, a capsule coffee machine and water kettle. Same goes for bathroom, complete standard amenities with his and hers basins, a bathtub and shower. There were a few restaurants in the hotel premise, we tried the main 4s (latitude, la veranda, ocean blue and beachcombers). Breakfast was always served in latitude (used to be in both beachcombers and latitude, but since the hotel will be undergoing renovation, the breakfast service in beachcomber was temporarily ceased, not sure if it will resume when they reopen in October). Breakfast can get pretty hectic, and service quality deteriorated with it. There were numbers of occasions we waited over half an hour to get a waiter attention for coffee order. However, there are numbers of people with outstanding service and attitude that deserved to be mentioned, Fredrick from Latitude (Whenever we had this guy working on our table section, breakfast/lunch/dinner, he had us asked for nothing! He was that amazing, since the very first night! Whenever he spotted us even if he was working on a different section, he would come by to say hello). Chef David from beachcomber got us trying his new sushi creation, was very friendly and entertaining with my son. Lunch and/ dinner Buffet offered in the latitude and beachcombers were always very good. I would considered JBH as one of those hotels that you can spend your entire holiday without having to go anywhere. The ideal family hotel! Traveling as a family, it was very important for us that our son has lots of fun, and in JBH he surely did. We love the convenience of having children beach, family pool (no smoking) with plenty of lifeguards, kids club and small wet park in close proximity. As a guest of the hotel, you are entitled to one free session (Morning, lunch or afternoon)each day in which you can leave your child unaccompanied (3 and above) under the supervision of the carers in the Kids Club (they have info flyer consist of each session’s activities). The kids club is a hit for children of any age, it has a big cinema room with bean bags, interactive room, floor piano, 2 trampolines, an obstacles course with balls pit, for the younger babies, there is a soft play area, baby slides, bobby cars as well as creative and crafts area with long tables and plenty of chairs. JBH has separate adult pool, executive pool and even a 5 lanes lap pool. For active guests, There are fully equipped outdoor and indoor gyms with rows and rows of mixed cardio machines, weight area, TRX, climbing wall, table tennis and nice looking cafe (there are also free yoga,Pilates and other classes offered) outdoor tennis courts (1 clay court, 1 grass court and 4 normal court) plus half a basket ball court. On our departure day, Ifthikar from concierge was very efficient and effective with his service from getting our luggages, checking on our transport availability, to loading our luggages into the vehicle, all without having us to ask twice. The extras: - the ice Lollies service on the beach and pool areas was a very nice touch - Daily turndown service with little gifts for us and our son was very thoughtful. - Children eat for free when ordering from kids menu at the beach and pool, those under 4 they eat FOC in the restaurants’ buffets - Hotel offers children life jackets for free to hotel guests, no need to bring your own (luggage space saving tip) - Free entry to wild wadi! Another great feat from JBH for family guests - During certain time (I think before 11 am), the water sport activities are for free (kayaking, paddle board, etc) - Breakfast served from 6 am to 11 am (great for us as our son kept us awake until late for the first few nights) - A special breakfast setup just for children with face painting and shaped balloons activities - 1st floor of the hotel consist of small convenient store for Knick knacks (postcards, souvenirs, Cuban cigars, etc), electronic stores, car rental, boutiques, hair salon, Italian and Indian Restaurants which we didn’t manage to try out. However, most of the stores were already closed down when we were there. - The amount of lifeguards on duty give us parents a very secured feeling The lows: - inconsistent table service during breakfast (even if you come half an hour before end of breakfast service) and sometimes buffet especially during peak hours and brunches. - My husband had to constantly asked for new clean wine glasses whenever he wanted to have a wine in the room, the ones provided by the housekeeping during their daily services were just dirty and didn’t look very hygienic. - We weren’t informed about the free children menu until the very last day, and as a result we spent a long time going through the final bills identifying all the kids meal ordered at the pool and beach sessions. The front office wasn’t aware about this so we had to call laveranda to reconfirm and passed that information to the front desk staff who checked us out. - Concierge admin staffs were not friendly both male and female staff. A little smile and courtesy are good for the soul and well being. Unlike their on-the-field counterparts who were always smiling and friendly. - I understand the need for security and the volume of guests the hotel has, however, after almost a week being a guest in the hotel, constantly getting asked for my room number whenever I waited for the lift without my son or husband was quite annoying (by the same guard). The lift security should at least put some effort to memorize hotel guests. - it can be very difficult to secure even one free chair at the family pool, especially on the weekend. Overall, we had an amazing holiday in Jumeirah Beach Hotel, that we can’t stop recommending this hotel to our friends and families and as for ourselves, we can’t wait to be back when the hotel reopens! Just returned from our latest stay, we generally visit twice a year. Very impressed with the new rooms, they felt modern, spacious and very well equipped. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was lovely. The pools were all as good as always and my son used the tennis facility and gym both of which are excellent and complimentary! The plc facility was as good as ever with great food and drink options. Lovely staff in PLC and Thomas in particular was attentive. The restaurants were largely impressive and I will review them separately in due course. I did feel that there was a little unrest from the staff in light of the impending closure for renovations. A lot of long standing staff have gone which is a shame as the staff were one of the big draws when deciding to return. Management didn’t appear visible and I didn’t see a single member of the senior team during my stay with the exception of Nazeer who was always about chatting with guests and helping with enquiries. Previously Mr Sakr and Mr Patrick Fernandez spent most days interacting with guests throughout the hotel but the new management appears to have adopted a different strategy. The executive pool appeared to be very understaffed but those remaining worked very hard to ensure guests were happy and well cared for. In particular Kavindra was fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after and happy. Also, nothing was too much trouble for Elson who worked very hard always with a big smile on his face. I would also like to thank Nurik in Lattitude who is always very attentive and welcoming. He is the reason we love to visit Lattitude and I will be leaving a separate review on the restaurants’ own page. I am really looking forward to seeing the hotel after the renovations and are excited for the new facilities but sincerely hope no more of the long term staff leave or I fear the place will no longer feel the same!
