I booked a triple because I was expecting to need it, and as it happened there were only two of us. Which was good, because we were tripping over each other in the very small “triple.” The room had an en suite which was also quite tiny. And the en suite smelled terribly musty and mildewed. We were allotted one towel each - no hand towels and no wash cloths (flannels). There was an air conditioner in the room, but that cost ten pounds extra a night to use it. They literally won’t turn over the remote for it unless you pay. There was soap in the room but no shampoo. Breakfast is included and the dining room is clean. They call it a full English breakfast, but there are no tomatoes or mushrooms, so it’s more like a 3/4 English breakfast. And quite greasy. And you have to call to tell them you’re ready to eat and then sit in your room waiting for them to call you back that your table is ready (which it isn’t really) before going to the dining room. So we are there one morning and then just got breakfast at King’s Cross every morning after that. There is no lift so you will have to drag your luggage up and down stairs. The people are nice. I wouldn’t stay again, but if you’re looking for a very cheap place to stay near King’s Cross/ St Pancras and you’re not particular, it’ll do. Collapse

So stayed here recently on a business trip. Lets start with a plus its close to Kings Cross, positives all done. All i can say is worst night of my life. I was told on arrival that we could leave luggage so that i didn't have to take it with me throughout the day (i also checked this before arrival at time of booking) as it was to early to check in. I then was told to leave my luggage in reception and that it would be ok. I wasn't given a slip to say i have left my bag and anybody had access to it throughout the day. When i returned later that evening to check in i had the worst shock ever when i got to my room. How they can say it is a Double is beyond me, the rooms were tiny to the point i could sit on the bed and touch the door. I headed straight for the bathroom and was greeted with an horrendous, foul smelling odor. It smelt of mold and had a severe damp and musty smell. So a shower was out of the question and had to keep the door shut. The shower door didn't shut properly as it was too big for the cubicle and you had to sit sideways on the toilet as the bathroom was so small, you couldn't shut the door when using the toilet either it was so small. The rooms were boiling hot and didn't have air con all you had was a fan above the door which circulated warm air and bad smells. I went to open the window but couldn't open it as i was on the ground floor and there was a scaffolding ledge next to my window and a ladder so that you could get access to the floor above so too scared to open it. The bed looked and felt like an old asylum/hospital bed, the decor was old and dirty and the curtains didn't even join in the middle. It is the noisiest hotel ever, you could here conversations, shouting, banging and people having sex. You could also hear banging and shouting in the kitchen in the morning.Peoples doors were propped open with shoes due to the heat I noticed when walking to my room. I later noticed a massive gap down the side of my bedroom door which also wasn't a fire door. The fire doors they did have were propped open which is a no no. I was told if we wanted breakfast we had to call down to reception first as there wasn't enough room in the kitchen, needless to say I gave this a miss. I tried to leave the hotel and was told i couldn't have a refund as I had already checked in and used the facilities which I definitely didn't. All i can say is, it isn't a hotel and its not a B & B. It is more like a motel or hostel but for £173 per night i expect a clean cool fresh smelling room and what i got was terrible. If you stay here be prepared to get what your given which is a roof over your head only and no point in complaining as they do not care. Collapse

This is a small family run hotel 5mins from St Pancras in a street that contains some dodgy places best avoided. This is most certainly not one of them. Some of the rooms are rather small but well equipped and spotlessly clean. The staff are very obliging and helpful. If you book direct you get the breakfast free and it is of the highest quality served to your table and prepared to your personal choice. We stayed twice, before and after a rail-based holiday. On the outward trip our early morning departure was before the breakfast service but we were given a nice pack-up. Collapse

Overall a good stay with nice connections to central London with tube or bus. Collapse
