Separate shower would have been good as bath difficult to access with fixed glass panel and high sides. Bar very nice but Geneva prices! Helpful staff. Stay again - probably. Collapse

I checked into the hotel after a long flight from the United States to Paris, and then onto Geneva. The hotel was able to let me check in early, though I had to pay for a different room (an "upgrade") to what had been booked for me by CWT. This was fine, since I was in no condition to sit and wait in the lounge area. The hotel lobby is vast, and very nicely decorated. The staff are all very friendly from the moment you reach the doormen right through to the reception staff. The room I had, up on the 12th floor, was small. Considering I had just "upgraded", I'd be concerned about the standard rooms as this was not really very large. That being said, it was nicely appointed though I had to spend some time figuring out the weird blinds and hand crank setup (I'm not kidding). Once I figured that out, I was able to take a nap (a rookie mistake as jet lag is a cruel mistress). Waking up, I decided to order room service from the restaurant as I was in no condition to go out. Browsing through the menu, I noticed how expensive food was. I'm a frequent traveler to Los Angeles and stay in hotels there a lot so I'm used to hotels being pricier for food, but Geneva? That's some next level expense. As an example: Chicken Club Sandwich served with fries = $36USD approx. Kit Kat = $9USD approx. Can of coke = $9USD Yes, it's expensive. I will say that the quality of the food was excellent (who doesn't love Swiss or German chocolate???) but I'm not sure it's $36 worthy. The breakfast is also expensive but is a buffet, so you get eat as much (or as little) as you like. The coffee is fantastic too, and I would often stop in the lounge after a hard day either walking around Geneva or at the conference I was attending for a coffee where the service is impeccable. Again, the staff are marvelous and do all they can to take care of you. The hotel also has a small gym which, though not large, has enough to meet your cardio and strength training needs. Another bonus is that the hotel gives you a pass for the Geneva Public Transport system which is very useful. You can simply cross the street and take a bus (the number 5 IIRC) downtown and then back again. The location of the hotel is very close to the "broken chair" and the UN building, so you could walk down to those attractions (the hotel is on a hill) and then take a bus or tram into the downtown area with ease. On my last morning, the concierge was able to book a taxi for me to go the short distance to the airport, and gave me one last strong coffee before I headed out to Paris for the return leg. In conclusion, the hotel rooms are small but nicely furnished. The hotel is clean and well equipped with staff who are incredibly nice and hospitable. The only downside is the cost of everything but this is not necessarily this hotel alone: Geneva is expensive for everyone so bring a credit card with a large limit! Collapse

I stayed here twice in a week. Each time I had the standard room which did not face the lake but faced an apartment building - perfectly nice view. My mother was with me for one of the trips and she had the lake view room which was otherwise identical. The room is modern and comfortable - great bedding, sofa, TV that works and has Netflix and other things. Bathroom looks like it was updated in 1970s and is way small. Seriously, the two rooms looked like they were from completely different eras. Service across the hotel was friendly and quick and I really liked the bar even though it was very quiet on a Sunday and Friday. Location is far out of town but close to airport. I rode the bus (free transport ticket) and it was 10-15 mins into the city but very convenient. Breakfast was excellent but very expensive. Room service was eye wateringly expensive and not good at all. I ordered the burger and I got, a burger. Nothing else. I am not sure who the hotel is aimed at. I don't think it is a good fit for families, and it seems a bit casual for business. I liked it, I didn't love it. Gym was well equipped but eerily silent. Collapse

It was deadly quiet. We had a nice view of the lake. The building lacks character but makes up for it in the lobby. The room was a bit small but as usual, efficient with a great bed. The bathroom was a disaster; whoever planned it should be cut down to size; elbow banging into the sink, knee into the toilet roll holder, shower facing directly down, can hear the neighbour breaking wind in his bathroom. OMG What is going on. V friendly staff though Collapse
