I went to the intercontinental for 1 night for my 5 year anniversary. First of all - every room in the hotel has a deep soaking tub and luxurious stand-up shower which is really rare in Boston. I felt like I was staying at a luxury hotel, but not nearly for the price that you would pay at other luxury hotels nearby like the Boston Harbor Hotel. I was immediately upgraded to a nicer room free of charge upon arrival. Also, because it was our anniversary, we were given 2 free drinks at the hotel bar and free breakfast the next day. This wasn't just a continental breakfast - this was a great menu with eggs benedict and omelettes and we were told we could order whatever we want - it wasn't like it was only valid for a meal with no side of bacon. Our waiter was the best server I ever had - very polite, very thoughtful. Overall, the rooms are great quality, and the service is first class. I would definitely stay here again - even if if was the slightly pricier option - because they go above and beyond for their guests. Collapse

This is our fourth time staying in the InterContinental in Boston. It is really hard to describe how wonderful our stay was and always been. Service is fast, prompt, attentive and caring. Rooms are large, welcoming, very clean and beautiful. The club is fantastic throughout the day. Gym and pool are incredible, with the best equipment and team to help. Special thanks to Wendy Eveleens who took special care of our family and provided the best service possible, with endless patience and positive energy, she has made us feel most welcome. We will be back soon! Thank you! Collapse

My trip was for a quick "Girls Getaway" to catch up with a friend and enjoy some Boston and Cambridge highlights. Unfortunately an injury occurred during our trip which put our plans in jeopardy. I made a wise choice in changing our accommodations to The InterContinental Hotel Boston. The InterContinental took exceptional care of us and assisted in making our trip extraordinary! First off, The InterContinental Boston meets every standard one would expect from a high end luxury hotel; - Tasteful and calming decor. Another review did mention "Asian inspired aesthetic". The cream & beige pallette with pops of mahogany & an emphasis on spa bathrooms equipped with individually wrapped toiletries reminded me of The Shangri La Hotels I've stayed in in Asia & the South Pacific - A polished & oversized lobby with fireplaces, flowers, ample seating and choice of restaurants makes quite an impression upon entering. - On site full service Spa with a huge 24 hour gym and a pristine warm lap pool not to mention steam rooms in the gleaming and well stocked locker rooms. - My big mistake was not ordering breakfast from room service on the late morning of our departure. I will not repeat this misstep again and encourage you not to either. Know that Room Service is 24/7. Perfect! Where The InterContinental Boston far exceeded expectations for me was the service. Every employee from the front desk to housekeeping made sure that our trip was well managed and comfortable, not easy due to limited mobility. Any special needs or requests were graciously granted and the staff was fully invested in making our trip special. For example, before I could even turn around to tip the Bell Hop upon entering our shockingly fabulous room which the front desk attendant was so kind to tailor to our needs and desires, early even, he had set out our luggage on racks and gotten an extra pillow for my friend and was arranging an ice pack on her injured foot. He asked me of our plans and offered to arrange reservations with the concierge for Neptune that evening, a Friday night. Another instance was housekeeping who not only stocked our room with extra bath salts upon request but while we were out turned down our beds and left bottles of water, Lavendar Chocolates & salted caramels as well as extra Keurig Pods and cream when they noticed our affinity for. Not only were we made to feel well taken care of we we're delighted by numerous special surprises & gestures of kindness. You are not just a room number here. Another outstanding aspect of The InterContinental Boston is the location. Leave your car at home. There are always cabs outside and it never took more then 4 minutes to get a Lyft ( Lyft was usually $6 to get anywhere in Boston we wanted to go). You can see the Pyramid and Clock of South Station ( Red & Silver T Line as well as Amtrak) 2 blocks from the InterContinental on Atlantic Avenue. In addition, you are in a very safe area walking distance to most everything including but not limited to Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, The Aquarium & The Granary Cemetery. Unfortunately our walking abilities were stripped from us but no matter, The InterContinental is built on the site of the Boston Tea Party, it's architecture pays homage to such as the buildings are made to look like ship sails. The Boston Tea Party Museum is just steps from the harbor entrance of the hotel and you simply must fit in a visit if possible. The Boston Tea Party Museum was an unforgettable visit and is consistently rated as one of the best tours of Boston. A combination of interactive theater, artifacts, special effects and tour it is completely engaging and viewpoint effecting. What a juxtaposition to have a modern, luxury, 12 year old structure on one of the most important sites of American history! The museum has a lovely Tea Parlor looking over the harbor dressed in Colonial style with fresh baked goods on offer. To have this a block away from the InterContinental is a huge boon. Imagine, Afternoon Tea at the location of America's largest teapot... The hotel is not only kissing the Boston Children's Museum but is 1/2 a block away from James Hook & Co! When I come to New England I have to indulge in lobster and it needn't be a fancy affair but I want it local and caught that day. James Hook & Co is THE Boston lobster shack on the harbor and it fullfills your seafood aspirations all for a very reasonable cost. The 1 1/2 pound steamed lobster was $30 and perfectly executed. The $18 lobster roll is known as one of Boston's best. The wooden shack ambiance only adds to the authenticity. In my opinion The InterContinental Boston is a great deal especially when traveling by Amtrak. I had no stress making my train back to NYC as a 2 minute walk was all that separated me from my ride home. In addition, Cambridge was only 13 minutes away, just 6 Stops on the Red line to Harvard Square, 16 including the walk to South Station from the entrance of the hotel. Then a $16 Lyft ride and 20 minutes was all it took to get back to the Intercontinental that evening. Though I tend to prefer historical inns and quaint B&B's the InterContinental Boston has completely won me over. It is with confidence that I recommend the staff and establishment to you. I'll see you there! Collapse

Our Military Finance team just completed a business trip in Boston. Our stay at the Intercontinental was most impressive. From the time I called to verify the rooms were booked properly, to the time I checked out, your staff was on point. And I would like to give a special thanks to one of your front desk agents, Ms. Rinske De Vries. From helping with the bags to the daily greetings, her professionalism, hospitality, and utmost respect, helped make our stay a memorable one. I will definitely recommend the Intercontinental for our continuous quarterly training in Boston. Thank you. Collapse
