I had a great time at Staybridge Suites the day before and I absolutely hated the experience at Indigo. It was dirty inside the room. I took photos of the gunk on the nightstand, large stains on the blanket and bleach stains and stained sheet on my side of the bed. The floors had white residue at the entry way. I took photos of all of this. When I got there, instead of greeting me as an IHG member as I always have been at all IHG hotels, the hotel employee told me to pay $25 for parking even though I booked my stay on ihg.com with a parking package. The hotel itself was hard to find and hard to turn into since most of St.Charles street is torn up and has giant potholes. Checkout is at 11am which is not so generous considering all other ihg properties let you stay till noon and sometimes even 1pm if you ask as a Platinum Member. Altogether, I really hated this place. It does have a funky modern vibe, but the dirt, inconvenience and rude attitude don't make up for it. Collapse

First, I would like to thank Sam, Front Desk Agent, for being such an amazing help with everything. The Room: Our room was immaculate and clean, with a very nice view and on the very quiet 9th floor. Request a high floor so no one is over you. The coffee in the room was good, easy to use coffee pot. The bathroom was very clean and there were enough towels for both of us. I loved the decor of the room. The only bad thing in the room was the bed cover. It was stained or dirty-- or both. I understand that most hotels do not wash them often, but they should atleast get unstained ones for each room. The view was great. We were facing the river, but could not see it. We were happy to see the views from the high floor. The halls were beautiful. I really loved the wallpaper, but I did not like the carpets. They seemed rather dirty, and stained as well. The staff were all very friendly, but Sam was very helpful with everything. Room Service: Room service was quick and easy and not so expensive. For two of us we ordered one PoBoy, and a cheese plate and it was delicious. Everything was well prepared. Breakfast was also amazing. The restaurant downstairs was beautiful, and the staff were very quick and great. I had a Fritatta which was awesome. Location was great. We were right infront the street car line. Get on the street car for $3 for the day pass and it will take you all the way to Bourbon where you can then get to any other place. It was very easily accessible and a short wait. The business center was fast and easy to use. I printed a few things- free of charge. It was great. Valet parking is so much better than struggling to find a parking space in the french quarter. We just let the valet have our car and we used the streetcars for $3. Valet parking was not so expensive. You have 24 hours in valet parking with no extra charge. Sam, I had to call him several times and each time he never seemed annoyed with my requests, and never took less time with me than others. He was quick and effective each and every time and most of all polite and a gentleman. I wish there were more people like him in the hospitality industry. Collapse

I lived in New Orleans for a few years during college so when I go back for work or visits, I like staying somewhere close to everything but not in the middle of the craziness downtown. I've stayed here a couple of times and both times, the staff was friendly the rooms were comfy and very nice. Getting into the valet drive can be tricky if you aren't watching closely. The only thing that drives me nuts about this place- is it is within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in the South, but the rooms don't have refrigerators...so you may as well leave that $50 worth of left overs at the restaurant. Maybe you can request one, Im not sure- but it's just odd that rooms that cost 1/3rd of the price have a fridge and microwave in every room. The bar closes early which is strange for anything in New Orleans and my bill for a one night stay had over $40 in Taxes and fees and this does not include the $28 for parking...but I'm sure that has more to do with the twisted politics of the city than the hotel. All in all - I return to the area at least once a year on business- and i still love the hotel- but will definitely check on the fridge situation next time. Collapse

This hotel met and exceeded on all levels and is a good value. The Streetcar stops out front and it's located in a good part of St. Charles Avenue. Valet and front desk provided excellent service. We didn't eat there, and the restaurant wasn't very crowded. For a quick breakfast, I walked down a block to the Pontchartrain Hotel for lattes and muffins to go. I will definitely stay here again. Great location in the Garden District. Very convenient and the St Charles street car runs right outside. Upscale boutique hotel with a well appointed and open, airy lobby. Nice room, decorated with modern furnishings, the hotel was renovated 3 years ago according to a local. Front desk was very helpful with local information and arranging for a second cab for us to get back to the airport when the first was not able to make it. The one morning I ate breakfast in the lobby restaurant, the service was unbelievably slow and unmotivated. But the breakfast included OJ, delicious Andouille sausage, grits, scrambles eggs and toast. Guests have to swipe their room key to enter the lobby afterhours and to use the elevator at any time. Nice touch. I would stay there again. Collapse
