The hotel was lush, very modern and very dainty. We got lost going there as no map was provided and the directions given didn't have the Queensway toll and that you had to turn off half way through the tunnel so we ended up going backwards and forwards 3 times! When we rang the hotel at this point to find out where to go, they couldn't help but luckily the staff at the toll helped us. The location itself was very good, only a short 10 minute walk to the centre and Albert Dock. I would highly recommend but my only suggestion would be to provide a map and better directions in future. Collapse

Good location for the Albert Dock but not so if all you want to do is shop. In the commercial area. Sightseeing bus stop right outside the front door of hotel. We stayed at the Indigo for three nights over a weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. Unloading at the hotel is a tad tricky as there is an official sign outside saying ‘No Unloading at any Time’! A receptionist told us that it would be OK to pull up and unload as long as one of us remained in the car. So not sure what you would do if it was just one person arriving with several bags. Parking is a choice of the "Secure" car park just a couple of minutes round the corner or an outdoor NCP almost opposite. The Secure option is dearer but the cost is partly subsidised by the hotel which makes it affordable. First impressions were very good. The hotel reception, lobby, lounge, bar and Marco Pierre White restaurant are all very warmly lit, ambient and welcoming. We had a meal in the restaurant on the first evening and were very impressed with the food, service and price. All staff are very friendly, efficient and helpful. My wife was not too keen on the music but I suppose that is a matter of taste. Our room was on the third floor, room 320 to be exact and it was here that we felt a few things were a bit of a let-down. Firstly the room was quite small and cramped for two people. There was only a very small amount of hanging and storage space in the wardrobe and nowhere to adequately place suitcases either for accessing contents or stowing away. Perhaps the strangest omission was that of coat hooks. Absolutely nowhere to hang coats, scarves etc. Considering this was Liverpool in February, coats were certainly necessary and it would have been nice to be able to hang them up properly. There were certainly places on the wall that could have been utilised for this so maybe they will be added in the future. Bedside tables were very small with no cupboard or draws and on one side this was almost entirely taken up with an excessively large telephone which made very high volume beeps whenever a button was pressed. The wardrobe doors also made a loud banging noise when pushed to, a few well-placed buffers could easily have stopped this. We had an almost constant noise of water running through pipes (seemed to be coming from the air conditioning unit) which, though not a problem by day, was not so great at night. The bed was soft and comfortable although my wife found it to be a little too soft, again a matter of taste I'm sure. Much is made in the advertising, of the bathrooms with the rainfall showers and indeed they are very modern and clean but once again very small. The wash basin has almost no room at all around it for toiletries and there are no shelves or adequate space for sponge bags either, we ended up putting ours on the floor. The shower is indeed very large and works fine once you work out what the three knobs do on the far wall. The design of these controls is very poor as they each have a long cylindrical lever coming out of them and they are set so close together that they actually get in the way of each other in use. There is one narrow towel rail and therefore nowhere to hang up any other towels you might use. The room then had much that could be bettered. I could also mention the TV that every now and again would start to pop and splutter. Either a signal or equipment issue I guess. Also not sure about the air conditioning. Probably fine in the summer but for heating in the winter, not so good. Having said all of the above, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Indigo, a little bit more attention to detail in the room would have made it perfect. The view from 320 was non-existent but then who sits looking out of the window when you have the beautiful city of Liverpool to explore? Collapse

Booked for a weekend away. Not heard of Indigo before but turned out to be a lucky choice. Smallish room, well specced, good shower but no bath. Free snacks. Check in was a bit chaotic - could do with streamlining. We dined in house at Marco Pierre White's on our first night which we enjoyed although the menu was a bit limited. Breakfast was good and set us up for the day's activities in lovely Liverpool. We were very impressed with the development in the city which struck us as vibrant and go ahead. The Indigo was quite close to the docks area and easy walking to many attractions and eateries. Booking advisable for restaurants at weekends to avoid disappointment. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful so no complaints there. Covered car park just round the corner (not connected to hotel) but they have a deal with them so the cost reduced from £13.50 to £8.00 per day. We dined out a Trattoria 51 on the second night which is 2 minutes walk away and very good. Check out was pretty smooth and quick. All in all a very pleasant stay Collapse

Lots of choice at breakfast, full English served to order and lots of good buffet bits too. Staff were very accommodating when we requested a later check-out, no problem and no charge. Would definitely stay again. Collapse

We stayed here last week sat, sun and mon. We have stopped at this hotel before and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is very clean, friendly and close to everything you want to see in Liverpool. We didn’t have a meal in the hotel this time as there’s so much choice out and about plus we were meeting friends but can recommend the restaurant. The towels in the room were changed every day even though we didn’t ask them to be and all the small bottles shampoos etc also re stocked. The only down side to our stay this time was breakfast on the Sunday morning we arrived at 10.27 am to be told there was going to be a wait but if we sat down in the foyer area they would call our name. 11.20 we were finally called then had to order our breakfast it arrived at 11.45 am the annoying thing was we were meeting people at 1 pm which made it a rush and unpleasant to have to rush the food down get back to the room changed and ready for 1pm. I will say this is the only morning this happened but to me quite unacceptable your breakfast is being served so late and setting the tables next to you ready for dinner. The hotel is so nice we would stay again but please sort the breakfast situation out at the weekend whether your there to meet up or sight see the day is half gone by the time you have had breakfast and set off for the day!
