Had a fantastic trip to Iceland. It really is a beautiful country. Make sure you wrap up warm but once you have there are some stunning sights to see! We stayed at Hotel Natura which was good. The only drawbacks were that it is a little way out of the main city centre and the hotel was slightly missing the occasional trick. For example we had to ask for tea/coffee making facilities in the room and then had to ask for them to be replenished as well. But overall the stay was good. Collapse

We booked a package deal with Icelandair that was our flight and hotel. The hotel was a perfectly fine place to stay. It was not fancy, but it was clean and well taken care of. We were supposed to get a double room. But when we checked in they said they upgraded us. When we got in the room we didn't notice anything different except the bed. We got a queen bed instead of a double. That was fine with us. The room was clean, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel it located a little outside of the downtown area. We did walk down there one day and it was about a mile. Most of the time we rode the bus. We did get a free bus pass from the front desk which we used a lot. Just a note the bus only comes every 30 minutes. So get to know the schedule if you plan to use it. We did eat at the restaurant for breakfast one day. It was a buffet and it was $33 per person. That sounds expensive, but it's actually not that outrageous compared to other restaurants in Iceland. Some people had breakfast included with their room. I'm not sure if that's just a different package, but it might be worth checking into. Also when we went into town in the morning a lot of things were not open until 10 AM or later. So breakfast at the hotel would have been convenient. Collapse

This was our first trip to Iceland and booked our hotel based purely on price. At the time of our booking this was one of the best priced hotels in Reykjavik. I was slightly concerned about the distance from the centre, this was solved by the free bus pass which we asked for on arrival. The hotel itself has been nicely renovated inside and looks smart and modern. Staff were very friendly on arrival and were on hand to answer your questions 24/7. We paid for the breakfast which set us up well on both days of "adventuring". The rooms were clean and the beds very soft. The bathroom was quite small, however, it was clean and well stocked with L'Occitane shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. We didnt notice the airport next to it, it is just a regional airport so only small prop planes fly out of it. I would definitely stay here again. Collapse

We booked a week-long trip through Voyage Privé (France) and stayed as a couple. The hotel doesn't look much, being located right next door to the domestic airport and offices, about 15-20 minutes' walk from the city centre, but inside it's a haven of comfort. Check-in: Smooth, easy. The receptionist spoke perfect English and very helpful. We obtained our free city bus with no issue at all. Room: Clean, comfortable. Quiet (no disturbance from outside). The room was warm and the housekeeping was very quick and efficient. The room was done by the time we returned from breakfast each morning. The bathroom was stocked with L'Occitane soap, shampoo, shampoo and conditioner. Hairdryer and tissues. Tea-making facilities were available. Plug sockets were plentiful - useful for charging cameras, phones etc. Not too much storage for clothes and no safe, but it was fine for our week-long stay. Breakfast buffet: An amazing choice of pastries, bread, muffins, sweet biscuits, crackers, cold food (herring, salmon, cream cheese, veg). Cereal, cooked food. A tureen of hot porridge. Gluten-free cereals and breads. Fruit salad, fresh fruit, muesli, and the Icelandic speciality skyr (am now addicted!). Tea, coffee, chocolate, juice... The service was excellent; staff quickly cleared plates and wiped any spills. Dinner buffet: Not included in our package but we ate twice in the restaurant. Not especially cheap, like everything in Iceland, but very good. The restaurant offers a buffet menu, including starter, main course (fish and meat) and desserts. Tea and coffee is included. The food was very good and the staff helpful and attentive. Other food: The hotel reception provided a small selection of snacks that could be paid for at reception or added to the final bill. It's a good idea to check your bill carefully as we were overcharged for a pack of sandwiches. The error was however quickly and painlessly resolved. Miscellaneous: The hotel provided free wifi throughout. It was easy to connect and the speeds were good. The lobby was pleasant, with comfortable sofas, free tea and coffee. There were interesting wooden models dotted about, as well as a display of stuffed birds (the reference to “Natura” I guess). Outside the hotel was a grass area and pick-up point for tour buses and taxis. The bus stop into Reykjavik was just across the road (no. 5 bus, every 30 minutes). Tours and airport transfers (we used Reykjavik Excursions pick up and drop off at the hotel and could be booked directly through the hotel gift shop. There is a spa at the hotel but we didn't try it. This was a very pleasant hotel and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. Collapse

Just got back, hotel staff are all very nice and friendly, no complaints there whatsoever. We only ate there once for breakfast and that was fine, plenty of choice, all the pastries were FRESH and all that was great but the coffee didnt seem too hot. The hotel is located the best part of 2 miles from the "centre". What i mean is the main bars, on a map the centre might be closer but its a long walk. The hotel says it offers free buss passes and thats true, what they dont tell you is you are not guaranteed one! I walk enough and trust me you do not want to walk that trip several times a day. If the passes are not there for everyone then it should clearly state that! We asked many times and only got a bus pass on our last (of 3) days. The pass allows free travel for 2 people but not much use if you cant get hold of one. I would rate this hotel higher but its very misleading about the buss pass. The room was clean, all the hotel was but Iceland is very very expensive. The hotel spa is around £21 entry nd a massage about £80! If youre going into town read my other reviews on there. Dont travel after March if you want to see the Aurora as its too late : ( but nevermind theres tons of other stuff to see. The local airport is next door but you wouldnt know Collapse

The outside of the building looks a bit dated and unkept, but it’s completely different on the inside. Lovely decor, super friendly staff, and spotlessly clean! Couldn’t fault the hotel in anyway. Breakfast had a good range of things and the hotel do a ‘grab and go’ breakfast for those who are up and out before the breakfast buffet starts at 6.30am including a croissant, mini muffins, an apple and a bottle of water. Great value hotel. Good location as there is a bus stop right across the road that comes every half an hour (and you can get free bus passes from reception subject to availability) to take you into Reykjavík town. The hotel is situated next to the domestic airport, however we didn’t have any trouble with noise. The woman that deals with the tours in the hotel was extremely helpful, she saved our holiday a number of times after we had issues with Grayline, and was lovely and friendly! Overall a really great experience and would certainly stay again. Collapse
