First of all it did not feel like a hotel at all. It looked like an apartment building split up into smaller units that can be rented out as hotel rooms. A feeling that by staying here we contributed to problems locals are facing in the housing market hasn't left me. Our room had no air conditioning or ventilation other than the windows that could be opened only partly. Fully open window would otherwise render one bed unavailable for sleeping, while the other window was partly blocked by an armchair. Windows had to be kept open to have some air. As a result we got a good amount of disturbing noises from the street. However big the room itself was, its general building standard and layout was light years from what you would expect at the asking price, yes even in Stockholm. There was no fridge in our room and TV was tiny in proportion to the room. Room and furnishings seemed pretty dated. Bathroom was tiny, totally not proportional to our room, and poorly built by any standards. Sink was missing a stopper and did emit sewage odour. Water from the shower would eventually fill the good half of the bathroom floor. We had to get extra towels to somewhat deal with this issue and access WC without getting our socks soaked. Towels could not be brought up to the room due to only one person working at the reception, we had to fetch them. Linen was clean, but the rest of the bedding so-so. I agree with the other review that duvets and pillows have definitely seen their better days. Accor gold status did not seem to matter much here. Welcome drink for three guests booked in the room was two bottles of room temperature coke zero. Is it to be perceived as a joke or an insult? Breakfast - nothing to write home about. Basic Swedish breakfast items, not a variety expected at a Scandinavian hotel, crammed space, located in a cellar. Location is pretty much away from everything and public transport or taxi is a must to get anywhere from the hotel, honestly nothing to brag about. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. This is probably the only bit that was OK about this hotel. Otherwise it was a total disappointment. From the moment we entered our room and saw the actual standard, I regretted bitterly not having booked us in a way better located hotel by another internationally known brand at the same asking price. We spent 5 nights at this hotel and were pleasantly surprised. We got a great price for the 5 nights by Stockholm standards. Our room was huge and so was the bathroom. Plenty of room for 2 adults and a teenage child. The hotel is an old property and they have kept many of the original features which add a nice touch. Breakfast is a buffet style and staff make sure all though breakfast that there is pleanty of choice on offer. Location is not in the center of Stockholm but just across the road you have access to buses, metro and underground which whisk you into the centre in a matter of a few minutes. Staff were very friendly and always happy to help with any request. Collapse

Because Stockholm in a pricey destination in terms of hotel accommodation, I have made preliminary investigations about some hotels. Well, I chose IBIS Styles Odenplan and it was really a good one. Clean, nice, well-located, 15 min. walk to the Gamla Stan, perfect choice for a short stay to Stockholm. Just near the Odenplan metro-station, in case you want to travel farther. Plenty of choice for breakfast; professional and helpful staff. Many thanks to Nadia for her kind reception and for helping me with a delayed baggage issue. Will definitely stay again. Collapse

If you are travelling on a budget, or on your employer’s budget, then this is the place for you in Stockholm. I found it to be clean and comfortable and with a very competitive price for an expensive city: far better than my last stay in a more upmarket Stockholm hotel. After a delayed flight with SAS I arrived at Stockholm Central station at about 10.30pm and had no trouble finding my way through the metro to Odenplan station which is close to the hotel. A nearby 7/11 store open until midnight came in very handy for drinks and snacks—although there was complimentary bottled water in the hotel room At the hotel, the night reception person was very helpful—even calling my room when she thought she might have told me the wrong closing time for the 7/11. The following morning I advised reception staff about a blown bulb in my bathroom and it was very helpfully changed by a maintenance person while I was at breakfast. And mentioning breakfast…it was a rather limited offering in a small room packed with guests. However, my overall hotel experience was worth the minor discomfort at breakfast. Collapse

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel several weeks ago. The rooms are so cramped and small that did NOT allow someone to walk around the bed unless the other person deliberately got out of the way. The bathroom is a joke with no raised shower floor! There was a glass partition that can be used to separate it from the toilet area, but water still ended up draining underneath the glass door to the toilet. In other words, ALL the water splattered to the sink and toilet area. I ended up being a maid for the day to wipe the floors of excess water. We were put in the "basement" which always had a musty smell every morning. The only good thing I can say about this hotel is its proximity to the subway station and for the breakfast. I wanted to check out to another hotel after the 1st night, but because I prepaid for my 3 night stay, I endured the discomfort and size. Also, there is no A/C. Big mistake, never again. Collapse
