My wife and I stayed here with our 2 daughters aged 5 and 2. We chose the hotel as part of package with Paultons Park. The hotel is only 9 miles away which is handy. Kids eat free which is great, they have a buffet for them which opens at 6pm, we went there when it opened and the food was fresh and a good choice. There’s a small play area and the pool was also a hit. The room was basic but fine. The hotel is in an ugly looking building it inside it’s fine, the communal areas are modern. Good at restaurant was perfectly good if not a bit expensive but we didn’t mind. All in all a successful family trip and would stay again if visiting Paultons Park Collapse

Booked via the internet and was told to call up before to confirm travel cots - tried but couldn’t get through and even tired Facebook which was successful. Even when we checked in, we were told we would have a cot but one wasn’t there - however it was resolved very quickly. The stay itself was ok, both kids slept through the night. Breakfast was included, it was ok, a nice kiddies section was a nice touch. Collapse

I chose this hotel as the stay and cruise package was good value, barely more than the port parking Reception was very friendly and helpful. No porter service, but airport style trolleys to take luggage to the room. I'd opted to take an upgrade to an "executive room". The room was clean, but was tired, as you'll see from the photos Part of the executive upgrade was bathrobes, bottled water and some chocolate. All very pleasant, but it wasn't what I'd describe as an executive experience, based on previous knowledge I had a meal in the restaurant, which was reasonably priced, with friendly service. The food could have been a bit hotter, but was ok. Not very authentic Singapore noodles, but its Southampton. The manager seemed a bit puzzled that I hadn't booked a table and spent a while checking to see where to put me, even though it was plainly nearly empty Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. WiFi connection good. I had a bath before bed that evening and planned to have a shower in the morning, but found it wasn't working at all. I think it was known about as after I tried to use it, I couldn't get it to stop leaking, but there was obviously a trick to stopping it as it hadn't been leaking when I arrived. I mentioned it at check out and she was very apologetic and made a note for the maintenance team Breakfast, which was included, had a decent selection of items. We were warned that around 8.30 there would be a large number of children at breakfast, but that it was possible to eat in the lobby, to avoid them Parking was included, as was taxi to and from the port. The taxi was on time in the morning and got us to the port in plenty of time I was give an phone number and a code to quote when getting back into port. The phone was answered promptly and a 10 minute wait was given for the return taxi and that turned out to be correct. I hadn't expected such a quick and efficient return to the hotel Overall, although the hotel was a bit tired with some niggles, the value offered by the stay and cruise package, particularly the transfers, makes this a place I would stay again, should I choose to sail from Southampton in the future Collapse

Recently stayed at this hotel for a short break with two children and my partner for a family excursion to Peppa Pig world . We had a long trip from the north and arrived with no car park spaces as British gas conference was on and we had to wait in the car park for over an hour. We asked the lady at the counter could we check in 15 mins earlier and was told we had to wait until 2. The hotel was clean and staff were very welcoming in the restaurant. On our stay we encountered quiete a few negatives about the hotel. One being the price in the restaurant was criminal. They were quoting £18.50 for an 8oz rump steak I was gob smacked. A meal for me and my partner cost close to £50 we only eat in the evening once because of this and the food was nothing to rave about. The children got to eat free this may explain the extortionate prices quoted to cover the cost. The breakfast standards where also shocking under cooked eggs and bacon obliterated sausages and lack of enthusiasm in cooking, the chef's where probably Peppa pig and George from the way it looked. We decided to make use of the room service on offer we had two meals and a few drinks came to £44 and we had to pay £35 at the check out desk upon departure totalling close to £80 for room service. I feel the management need to address there pricing as this explains the quietness off the restaurant. I also feel the lady at the check in desk should smile more and make it feel welcoming. I will be avoiding holiday Inn and looking at premier Inn which will be much more desirable and better quality. There is no room for travel costs and my partner had to sleep on a pull out couch as lack of space. We were given a room the other side of the hotel with children not good at all. The site advertised a Peppa Pig package and clearly there was no link a Tele with Peppa pig on and a small play area doesn't quiete fit the advertisement. Collapse
