My colleague and I picked this hotel for our 3 day business trip. Location is superb. The hotel itself looks very pleasant and welcoming and very Christmassy Room itself very cosy too. There were however few things that they could improve on. First of all is their breakfast selection .... very very poor! We do travel a lot up and down the Country and this was probably the worst selection we have had in a while. First of all they should not dish out their coco pops in the evening ready for the next day whilst the guests are still enjoying their evening glass of wine in the restaurant. I used to work in chain hotels myself many moons ago and that would have been unacceptable! Second of all they should have what they offer in their menu or advice their guests in advance that certain things are not available. For example menu advertises nuts and seeds. When I asked the waitress where I can find nuts and seeds she replied they have dried bananas and raisins ..... ok that’s a dried fruit. So back to the question “where can I find nuts and seeds?” Waitress went to ask the Chef, she came back with few flaked almonds and said they haven’t got any seeds. Brilliant! Staying on the breakfast subject one of the waitresses a young girl in blue/pink hair was so “happy” to be there I actually thought she was on community service! I overheard one gentlemen asking her for butter to which she pointed out towards margarine direction and said to him butter is over there. The gent replied no it is not and asked for some butter. She went over to that very same table and grabbed some margarine and put it on his table the cheek! This evening we went to the bar to get some coffee. I ordered iced coffee and I was told they don’t sale it even though it’s on the board. The person who was serving us Dylan said they do not stock it as no one buys it and I was the first person to ask for it in the last 6 months. The reason why it’s on the board is because he cannot take it down False advertisement springs to mind! He did give us 2 coffees free of charge to compensate for it. Other thing was a hoover left by housekeeping right in front of the entrance door as you walk upstairs to your room. Health and safety training might be an answer! On a positive note there was very helpful young lady called Liga who served us in the evening. She was ever so nice, friendly and helpful. She managed to get us pistachio Sunday that had just been removed from the menu the day before! Not sure why they are the best! That was divine! Cheers Liga Collapse

The hotel is a good location for Reading it as been recently refurbished. The rooms are clean the beds are comfortable, bathroom and shower facilities good. The bar as a choice of beverages and the colleague's are polite and friendly. The restaurant service is good. The first night I had a rib eye steak it was delicious. The second night I had Chicken madras I would not recommend it ! Poor quality it was more like a few bits of chicken in a curry gravy and cost £15.00 I could of got a more authentic curry from Sainsbury's for £4.00- Other than that a pleasant stay. Collapse

Two nights in a queen room. Room itself and the bed etc was acceptable... the bathroom was disgusting. For some reason we were put in a modified, disabled needs, which in itself made us very uncomfortable. Initially we though tired, however, after two nights we changed our opinion... i took photographs to support my comments. wood was rotting, tiles and wood with so much 'mould', awful. for able bodied the grab handles etc everywhere were, in fact, in our way. I do, however, appreciate there positioning for those disabled. we left our room at 10:00 am Sunday morning, returned at 8:00 pm that evening... the room had not been serviced, just as we left it. we had to sit in the bar for 30 minutes whilst it was addressed. Didn't have breakfast, two days for two would have amounted to £60.00. Premier for example £32.00 . We were offered an upgrade on our next visit! from what to what goodness knows. Collapse
