The hotel was clean, people were great, loved the restaurant, prime location. The only gripe i have is house keeping tying up the elevators during busy times of the days, I felt a lot of what they were doing should be done in the middle of the night when paying customers are sleeping such as dropping off cleaning carts on each floor, taking sheet carts to the street, returning carts etc. Collapse

We were in room 3305, if you want an amazing view, this room has it! Again, friendliest staff i have dealt with in a long time. They are more than accommodating to every guest and you can tell they actually care and want to help. I will never stay anywhere else in NYC again, i will always book with them! Collapse

I was really impressed with this hotel. This was the first time for us to visit New York and with so many hotels to choose from and upon hearing some horror stories I didn’t really know where to start. I’m so pleased I chose well! We arrived late evening and check-in was very quick and easy. We were given a room on the 2nd floor which was great for us as we could walk up the stairs instead of waiting for the lifts (there are 2 lifts but many floors in this hotel). Our room was spotlessly clean and very modern. The bathroom was a good size with a large walk in shower and we had a king size bed. There isn’t much room around the bed but I’ve heard that the majority of hotels in New York are the same. It did us just fine for our 5 night stay here. The heating (which we needed as it was freezing in NYC last week!) was easy to use and did the job very well. Beds were very comfortable and we had a USB port right next to the bed which was handy as well as another one on the side of the lamp. At check-in I did ask if I could upgrade to a larger room with two double beds and was told I could do this free of charge the following day or any day of our stay if I wished but not that evening as all rooms were full. I was advised to go back to reception in the morning and my room would be changed. However, I was really pleased with the room and decided not to bother. The reason why I liked it (room 202) is because it was tucked away at the back of the hotel on its own - meaning no noisy neighbours or doors slamming shut late at night or early morning. My only gripe was that on our first night there was a live band in the bar downstairs and being on the second floor it was very loud. I felt like the band were in my room! It took a while to get to sleep that night but for the rest of the stay it was very quiet in our room. I was assured that it was only on a Saturday night that there is live music and I must admit they did sound good and if I wasn’t so tired I may have gone down to the bar. If I’d been on a floor higher up I wouldn’t have heard them. Speaking of the bar, the Rattle n Hum, we only visited here for breakfast but found the service to be very good and friendly and the breakfast very good. Each morning I opted for a croissant with bacon and scrambled egg with a bit of cheese. It was a good size portion which filled me for the day and was tasty - all for $6. My daughter had a stack of pancakes with maple syrup for $12. We found we didn’t eat until the evening and were set up for the day. The location of the hotel is very good. The centre of Times Square is about 5 minutes walk away and Penn station and Madison Square Garden are in the same street, sorry I mean Avenue! Just turn right out of the hotel and walk five minutes and you’ll see them. Considering how quiet our room was you’d never think we were in the heart of New York! The staff couldn’t do enough for us during our stay and when I asked for an extra blanket as they are quite thin, one was brought to my room within half an hour. If I was to return to New York I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again! Collapse
