I visited the hotel from 12th-14th February 2018 with my sister as we were in Madrid for a few days on a city break. First of all, in terms of location, I booked this hotel as when reading reviews, it was said to be located in the city centre however this is not the case. To get to any of the attractions in Madrid or even the main town, a journey on the Metro Underground is needed. Luckily, the station is outside the hotels front door and a single journey is very cheap at only €1.50 so it wasn’t too much of a problem and didn’t bother us too much. I do have to say, there are very few places to eat a decent evening meal near the hotel with everywhere looking closed or having very small menus (we are not that fussy but found finding food near the hotel difficult) so both evenings we got on the train to nearby Opéra where there was a much better choice of restaurants and bars. In terms of the hotel itself, we stayed in room 508 which was very clean, fit for purpose and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and we both slept amazingly both nights. Unfortunately, where our room was located was pretty much opposite the lifts which are very noisy. Lots of people were also talking loudly and slamming doors early in the morning and late at night which was disturbing at times but I appreciate this can’t be controlled by the hotel directly. The only other negative I have with the room we stayed in was that the thermostat appeared to be broken, when I put it on to air conditioning the room did not cool down. Even with the window open the room was very hot at all times but I think this was due to the extremely hot radiator in the bathroom that I couldn’t turn down! On a more positive note, the staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. They tried their best to help even when there was a language barrier and we were given a map and good advice when we asked about transport links into town. On departure day they kindly stored our luggage for us to enable us to enjoy our last day in the city without carrying it around and they also called us a taxi to get to the airport which has a special hotel rate of €30 which I thought was very reasonable. Overall, not a bad hotel and an enjoyable stay. Collapse

The hotel is very well located for travelers next door to the Metro station and the C1 train link to the airport. We found the hotel clean and efficient with nice beds. The bar was also very good value for a hotel bar. It was all we needed for a tour of he city for a long weekend. The only negatives were that the lift could be quiet noisy (the lift itself and its occupants) and some of the décor was a little dated Collapse

Great hotel, close to metro , several good restaurants nearby, great staff, the gm was great , housekeeping was great we stayed in room 302 and checked out Sunday the 21st of Jan 2018. Everyone very friendly. Internet was slow. Tip, breakfast very expensive in comparison to restaurants down the street, I ate at montepinos a block and a half away and great check priced breakfast and lunch and dinner. Next door to there is supermarket if you need to buy anything. Plaza mayor a short walk. If you do not have too much luggage take train to airport which is cheaper again it’s right outside hotel. I am a Spire Elite member and have stayed in many different IHG hotels. I had the worst experience when staying in Holiday Inn Madrid Piramides. This is a personal trip and I booked this hotel several months ago. Since The price was very affordable when I checked it online, I ended up booking with my credit card instead of booking with points. The check in and stay at the hotel was ok, however, when we checked out, we were told that the room price was much higher than what I booked. I checked my online account and found out that they’d changed the room price. I was sure because two days before I checked in I doubled checked the hotel address and price in my online account. And then I was told they were willing to change the price if I could show them the confirmation email. Unfortunately, I didn’t keep my reservation emails since I travel all the time and my inbox could be filled up easily with all kinds of confirmations. In the past, I simply relied on my IHG online account. I think I just learned a lesson — you cannot simply trust the information shown in your online account since the hotels could easily change it. If I were able to show the confirmation email, they could just get away with a “sorry”; otherwise, they could make more money from their dishonest behavior. Stay away from this hotel or at least keep your reservation email. Collapse
Excellent if you are a big fan of Real Madrid

If you are a big fan of Real Madrid, these hotel would be perfect for you, thanks to it's place, it's 3 minutes away from Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Adding to that it's not far from downtown and Grand Via street.
