We chose this hotel primarily for it’s location as we were visiting Hampton Court Palace. We travelled from London by train to Surbiton which takes about 10 minutes. The hotel is then a 10-15 minute walk from the station The hotel was very modern throughout with Asian influences in the décor. Breakfast was a buffet style service with lots of hot and cold options. The staff were very helpful and friendly We booked a standard double room which was very spacious; plenty of room for two of us and our son (a cot was provided free of charge) The hotel also offer Executive rooms which overlook the River Thames After we arrived and unpacked we walked along the riverbank path to Kingston. For a relatively small town there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars. We ate at Steins German restaurant; it was pricy but nice for a treat! I can really recommend a trip to Hampton Court Palace; if you’re interested in the Kings and Queens of England, this is definitely the place for you. Highlights for us were Henry VIII’s Great Hall and Queen Anne’s bedchamber. Unfortunately, as it was raining we didn’t see much of the gardens and we didn’t even attempt the maze as we didn’t want to get lost. Collapse

This hotel is within a modern building with great facilities and friendly staff. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and were decently sized for a London hotel. The main double bed was extremely comfortable whereas the smaller portable bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was modern and clean, with a good shower. The TV and coffee making facilities are quite dated. The tv is extremely old and hard to use. The coffee making facilities provided were minimal, with one of the coffee mugs having water and coffee stains at the bottom. There was no hot chocolate or tea. Parts of the furnishings also were damaged, this is something that requires attention. There were also no safes in the room. This is a must for me as I carry many valuables. I’m very disappointed as I’ve seen holiday inn as a very reputable brand, but the non inclusion of safes in a room is unacceptable. Going away from that though, the staff were very friendly, the room was relatively clean, with a good air conditioning unit. The breakfast was a bit lacking, with few vegetarian options, but still perfectly acceptable for a Holiday Inn. Overall I had an enjoyable stay, and apart from a few things I would recommend this hotel. Collapse

The hotel is run down, located in the middle of an industrial estate(has one or two garages right next to it) and right in front of A307, which means a lot of noise from passing traffic. The room was looking run down as well, and was smelling like cheap car air freshener. The room’s heating/air conditioner was making loud noises. The parking is in the back of an alley which would make me unsafe to walk during the night. I would definitely not recommend it it for holidays. Collapse

I booked to stay here when the chessington website directed me as a nearby hotel, when all the ones in the park were full, I didn’t know it wasn’t the nearest I now know there is a premier inn 5 min walk NEXT to the park, this hotel is a ten min taxi £14, all holiday inns are of a good standard, my room was clean and breakfast was fantastic, however it was ridiculously noisy, the bass of the music down stairs vibrated up to the room until midnight there was a wedding on and at 11.30pm I heard people making speeches, I would never normally complain but I booked it as a package along with chessington tickets so it was obvious children were on the booking, trying to get a five year old to sleep at 8.15 with all the noise was near on impossible, also I had booked a family room and the put me up camp / Z bed was too uncomfortable for even a five year old to sleep on, she could feel the springs poking into her, she had to sleep in with me. So what with the noise and the fidgeting I had very little sleep, can’t say I enjoyed chessington on day Two I was far to tried. Normally I would of mention any grievances to the reception on check out, but when I handed in my key card I was not even asked how my stay was. Collapse
