We chose this hotel primarily for it’s location as we were visiting Hampton Court Palace. We travelled from London by train to Surbiton which takes about 10 minutes. The hotel is then a 10-15 minute walk from the station The hotel was very modern throughout with Asian influences in the décor. Breakfast was a buffet style service with lots of hot and cold options. The staff were very helpful and friendly We booked a standard double room which was very spacious; plenty of room for two of us and our son (a cot was provided free of charge) The hotel also offer Executive rooms which overlook the River Thames After we arrived and unpacked we walked along the riverbank path to Kingston. For a relatively small town there are lots of shops, restaurants and bars. We ate at Steins German restaurant; it was pricy but nice for a treat! I can really recommend a trip to Hampton Court Palace; if you’re interested in the Kings and Queens of England, this is definitely the place for you. Highlights for us were Henry VIII’s Great Hall and Queen Anne’s bedchamber. Unfortunately, as it was raining we didn’t see much of the gardens and we didn’t even attempt the maze as we didn’t want to get lost. Collapse

A great hotel with great staff. We booked it back in June last year ready for the Army and Navy game of 2019. On our son’s recommendation we stayed recently for one night to attend our Grandson’s baptism. On arrival we had a warm welcome from a delightful auburn haired girl (sorry couldn’t see your name as your hair was covering it!) and when I mentioned it happened to be my husband’s birthday the next day, she offered to upgrade us to an Executive room, which was very kind. Our room was bright, clean and had a large comfortable double bed. The bathroom (& there was a bath) was well lit and had all of the usual trimmings - if you had forgotten a toothbrush, razor, etc the hotel would supply those. There was a small wardrobe, which contained an ironing board & iron, a desk and chair with a hair dryer below and a balcony with a table and two chairs. These did need a thorough clean, but we didn’t need them as the weather wasn’t warm enough. As we arrived quite late in the day, we decided not to venture out to a restaurant, and there are a large number a short walk away, we ate at the hotel’s restaurant 360. At the bar to the restaurant we were served by Vladimir, who on chatting we discovered he is from Moldova (we hope the birth of your daughter goes well). Then we went into 360, this is a brightly lit restaurant which is a little off putting, but at about 9pm the duty manager dimmed the lights to a more pleasing level. We had Crispy Duck and Tuna Cheviche as starters which were tasty and Crab and baked Hake for mains - we eat out regularly and I thought my Hake was absolutely delicious, the combination of flavours and presentation were outstanding - well done to the chef! The waitress was very pleasant (didn’t get your name either) and helpful. As we went to retire, we asked at reception if we could keep our room until 12 noon, rather than the 11am check out. This was not a problem to the delightful Aymen who arranged this and on finding out it was my Husband’s birthday the next day asked when we would be down for breakfast..... After a good nights sleep, we arrived to a busy, but well staffed breakfast. Tables were cleared and cleaned and reset at speed and the staff were smiling throughout. Breakfast was varied with chilled fruit and juices, water, yoghurts, cereals, sliced meat and so on. The hot food was bacon, fried and scrambled eggs, mushrooms, sausages, tomatoes etc and croissants and pastries and bread for toasting. Then two members of staff came with a plate of pancakes and fruit and honey with a lit candle, singing Happy Birthday to my husband! Most of the restaurant guests joined in to. The couple sitting next to us had just got married the day before, and it was lovely to hear all about their day. At check out which was speedy and efficient, Aymen was amusing and helpful and was very pleased he had been able to make my husband’s birthday a little different from the norm. We would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Kingston South again, when in the area. Collapse

We arrived for a one night break whilst visiting chessington world of adventures for my birthday ( my choice, yes I'm a big kid at heart ) we arrived to a nice pleased man at reception who gave us room 222 . We entered room 222 to find that it was a disabled room with a wet room . We went down to reception and the man allocated us room 405 . When we entered room 405 we noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke we just thought it may of been from outside ( tried to remain positive when we knew Dam well the smell was in our room ) When I went to use the toilet I was greated with a dirty toilet seat. Urine stain I cleaned it with antibacterial hand sanitizer I had it my bag . There was pubic hair in the bath as well and a mascara stain on one of the hand towells. When we went to dinner we were given the menus ( not a lot of choice at all) we both decided on a chicken tikka curry it wasn't bad but I've tasted better . Anyway to cut a long story short it cost 50.00 for 2 Currys a dessert and a drink . Food was no better than the brewers fair but about twice the price. Positive was that the staff were friendly that s about it . We will not be returning and will stick to a premier inn from now on . Birthday disappointment Collapse

We arrived when snow was on the ground and the hotel was undergoing a major refurb of its main restaurant. So for some reason the heating in the hotel was not working properly. The room we slept in was freezing at first but after a couple of hours warmed up. Hotel should have told us in advance that they had a heating problem. The staff in the makeshift restaurant at the back of a hotel had to borrow a heater from the builders in he evening! The manager Ayman was fantastic. He really knew what Service was about but he was hamstrung by the building works. Whilst the location is generally excellent, it sits on a very busy main road. Collapse
