I attended a corporate event as a guest speaker (Feb 2018) and lost my tracker device for my car. Not only did the team there search the entire meeting space to find it for me, they also securely posted it back to me rather than asking me to drive the 80 miles to pick it up. I particularly want to thank Mimi and Hannah for a superb service. Also, if you are thinking about booking an event here, I would highly recommend it. Thank you all! Collapse

I am an ihg rewards member and I have to say this is the worst holiday inn I’ve stayed at. We phoned the hotel to say we would be arriving about 9pm . On arrival at the hotel the lobby looks nice and warm . We checked in and were given a room on the 1st floor. When we entered our room the 1st thing that we noticed is how cold the room was. Absolutely no heating on at all in the room , it was freezing. On 1st impressions the room was big with a nice big comfy bed , tv , tea , coffee making facilities, a safe which said out of order on it, the bathroom was tiled and freezing also , the handrail in the bath was hanging off with rust marks that run down into the bath , that sight alone put me off having a shower. After unpacking I went to put my phone down on the bedside table when I noticed a thick sticky gel on there ,I had to clean the table before I could use it. We were only here for a night and then we were moving on to the village hotel, and to be honest we just wanted our bed as we had been traveling for 4 hours and we were freezing. We had a good nights sleep , the bed was super comfy , the one shining light to this stay. We got up went for breakfast which was good , a nice spread of cooked and cold meats , usual breakfast things , cereal. Muffins. Toaster to make your own toast. We checked out and as we were leaving I noticed a sign saying about a code to get out of the car park , so we had to go back to get the code , why was this not said when we arrived or checking out. We checked out but I must say we won’t be returning to this holiday inn again, I think we were given a room that wasn’t cleaned at all and was not ment to be used , that is how it felt. Collapse

We had our son’s Bar Mitzvah in the function room (Studio Suite) on 27 January 2018. The event went very well, food was great! The hotel met some food allergy requirement well. We had guest of just under 100 people. The event manager and staff were busily working very hard Family stayed in rooms upstairs that night, rooms are nice and clean and comfortable. It was a lovely occasion for the entire family and friends. Everyone said it was a lovely party and enjoyed it! Many thanks to Amanda (event coordinator) and Sam (event manager) for all the hard work to make our event very special!!!! All the best Collapse

We had our works Christmas party. The food was the worst food I have ever eaten. In fact that’s not true, as I didn’t eat it. It was the worst food I have ever, never been able to eat, as it was disgusting. We payed £35 pound for the evening. The singer was to loud as we were trying to eat the disgusting food. The can can girls were not the right act for a mixed audience of different ages. The disco was much to loud. All in all, I had a terrible visited. Left at 1030 and was glad to leave. I was not the first person to leave in our party, one lady left at 930, as it was so bad. And just to make matters worse a film crew had taken up car park space, Collapse

We stay in hotels all the time including many from the IHG group and this is without doubt the worst holiday inn we have stayed in.. Firstly upon check in, the receptionist noticing the fact that I at present use a walking stick and have strapping on my knee said no problem madam we will give you a nice room as spire elite customers not too far away... wrong it was one hell of a walk. She later apologised when other things also went wrong. Car park also seemed to be horrendously busy. Next problem was how cold the room was, bearing in mind this was December....we also ask for a warm room as both have cold air induced asthma. Yet they had managed to put us in a room with no working heating.... do hotels not check these things?? After phone calls and trekking down to reception on a number of occasions they eventually got us a heater, and showed us another room, ironically where they heating also wasn’t working properly. So we stayed put.. Added to all of this, was the absolute rudeness of one young male member of staff, who it turns out had been complained about previously. Yes they receompensed us for this awful stay which was appreciated, but would never stay there again, as it took so much effort on our behalf to deal with was should be fairly basic issues i.e. working heating and politeness from staff members, Collapse
