Right, we have stayed here a few times and do like the convenience, however let’s get the negatives out of the way: CHECK IN Arrived and there was an elder couple in front of us arguing about the £3 car parking charge (yes they do, pay it and move on). Whilst the receptionist was dealing with them, another member of staff was moaning her probation has been extended. Judging by the surly and slack attitude it is clear to see!! Any way two negatives: on check in we were asked if a double room was correct? Diversity training needed!! Married couples would like a double bed!! Second negative: I paid for car parking on check in. Was given a receipt for this. On Check OUT was told ‘only parking to pay then’ I confirmed that I paid parking on way in and had to fish the receipt out of my wallet as proof!!! MANAGEMENT - when is parking payment taken? At check in or check out?? Update your staff and system accordingly!! Right, room was quiet everything worked, As we were there one night had everything we needed. We are tall and bed was comfy, hair dryer was a bit crud but always bring our own. Picture enclosed of different mugs in room. Did make us chuckle One was bigger than the other ... maybe that can be addressed....towel Elephant was a nice touch. Noticed a wedding fayre setting up on leaving and hope that went well as we have been to many celebrations in this hall. Breakfast was good, forgot I had booked it, so that was welcome. Hot food great, sausages were poor quality but bacon eggs etc was fine. Good selection of jams and pastries if that’s your thing. Welcoming lady on front of house and said ‘have something you wouldn’t normally have!’ So we did just that. Wouldn’t hesitate to return as convenient base to get out Collapse

Four of us stayed overnight after a Only Fools and Three Courses dinner and entertainment (very funny and worth seeing). I booked two De Luxe double rooms. Rooms each cost £88 per night. The car park had plenty of spaces 6 of which were disability bays. As my husband is disabled, new parked in one of those. However, it should be noted that three of the spaces were being used by builders to park their vans overnight - not good, and perhaps the parking should be better enforced to keep disability bays free for those who need them.... Check in was friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms, on the ground floor, were spotlessly clean, bright and pleasant. The bed was huge and very comfortable. TV was very large, with an excellent picture. Wi Fi was free and reliable. Bathroom was large, immaculately clean, but a slightly complicated shower that just did it’s own thing. Water was hot and pressure was fine. Breakfast was friendly and welcoming. The cold stuff was well presented and plentiful. The hot breakfast buffet was hot, fresh and the sausages and bacon of good quality. The rolling toaster was hot and efficient (a rarity in hotels!), As was the coffe and tea machine. The drinks (wine and beer) and snacks at the bar were very expensive, but hey ho, anywhere near London always is. All in all, this hotel does what it says on the tin, and I would recomnend for a relatively inexpensive stay. Collapse

Asking for true feedback??? The receptionist was not in "work mode" on check out was licking even the basic attitude or understanding of guest service. Shame as we had a great evening out. Collapse
