I use this Holiday Inn frequently for holding team meetings and one-to-ones and have done so for more than 8 years. The meeting rooms on their Business Academy have always been well prepared with plenty of fresh coffee and snacks in the breakout area. I use their lounge regularly for meeting individual team members and the service I always get is first class with a warm welcome from all staff especially those behind the bar keeping me going with great coffee . I can thoroughly recommend the breakfast sandwiches too especially bacon and fried egg which is my favourite. The hotel has a great location right next to the A2 and a railway station within easy walking distance. Collapse

It was a friends birthday and the Murder Mystery Night was chosen as a novel form of celebration. We arrived in the afternoon to a very friendly and genuine welcome at reception. My room on the first floor overlooked the garden. The room was clean, tidy and bed was lovely. The wifi was good and reliable enough to use BBC Iplayer and NowTV in the downtime before our afternoon tea. We went to the bar/lounge area and sat at the far end where we admired a beautiful tree in blossom in the garden. My friends partner had arranged for plates, cutlery etc to cut the birthday cake. The overworked lady on the bar hadn't been notified sadly. She also couldn't help at the time as she was serving a group of about 15 people.Despite asking for help she had to work alone and eventually got us the plates etc.I noticed another review saying the same about staff levels.Having to make coffees, serve alcohol and tidy up at a busy time is a 2 person job - take it from someone who's worked in restaurants ! Having had our tea, coffee and cakes we retired to our rooms.I must say the room was quiet and bed cosy for a quick snooze for an oldie like me.I was pleased to find a choice of firm or soft pillows. The bathroom was spotless, well maintained and I particularly like the mirror that pulls out and has a close up mirror on one side.So many hotels just have an over the sink mirror that steams up and is useless for shaving. I also liked that there were plenty of drawers which if I had a longer stay I would use. The Murder Mystery night was great fun and run impeccably by a friendly and professional Becky. She informed my friend thst his choice of champagne wasn't available and gave him a choice of 2 others that cost 50% more but the hotel would charge the same as for the original.A nice touch. The meal part of the night was served efficiently and my mushroom wellington was the best I've ever had. We didn't solve the murder but had a fun time trying. Next morning I found the shower pressure underwhelming but that was probably due to many others showering at the same time.It helped that instructions for the shower were there on the wall saving those minutes of wondering which dials to turn which way in your morning after the night before daze. Breakfast had many choices of cooked and/or continental and plenty of available tables. As the breakfast was included in my £60 price I found it very good value. Check out at reception was again very friendly. I've read critical reviews of some rooms here but found mine - 117 - in good condition and not at all 'outdated'. I would happily stay again. Collapse

I stayed away for an entire week working my way across Berkshire, Surrey, Kent and finally London with a different Holiday Inn each night. Without a doubt my final night at Bexley was by far the worst. I arrived and attempted to make eye contact the female receptionist, she was too focused on finishing her conversation with her colleague to even acknowledge me, when I tried to enter my car registration on the pad this got her attention with a very curt “can I help you!!” as though I was at fault for trying to register my car. No details of my booking despite doing this on the app, asked for all details that should have pulled through, when details were finally found I was promised a room upgrade and welcome points on my IHG account. Neither happened. Got to room 20 to find a lovely dirty and damaged TV remote, went to order room service and the phone didn’t work, more errors such as poor water pressure, noisy pipework keeping me awake. The only redeeming feature was the large bed with comfortable pillows. Check out in the morning and when asked to rate my stay and commenting on this being a 5 I was offered an additional 1000 points to my IHG rewards account as an apology. This of course did not get added on either. A reasonable property but run by staff with no focus on the guests and lots of small issues around the hotel that show cleaning and maintenance is not high on the agenda. Holiday Inn Express down the road in Dartford offers much better service for far less, I will not be returning to this hotel as the poor service and overpromising and underdelivering damages the brand. As someone who enjoys reviewing hotels, I actually hate giving negative feedback. But honestly this hotel isn’t great and here’s why. My husband and I stayed for one night during April 2018 for our friend’s’ wedding. The wedding took place at the hotel so we thought just for ease and convenience that we would stay the night. Our room was 130 and we were told after we stayed that this was in the old part of the hotel which wasn’t due to be renovated until later this year. The room was certainly dated, first impression of the room was a massive stain on the carpet by the front door. We couldn’t work out what could of caused it but it looked a bit like a bleach stain. There was the basic amenities such as tea, coffee, milk, kettle, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was white and dated and sad looking. But it was clean. There was a bath with a shower head. I used the shower the next morning and it was adequate. I didn’t however was my hair, so I can’t say wether or not it would take ages to wash shampoo out of your hair but just for general shower use, it was fine. Nothing exciting. The main room had a double bed, a sofa which pulled out into a bed (if you wanted it too), a desk with a mirror and tv. We had a view of some trees and the road coming from the A2 towards Bexley Village. The brown, old and dated curtains (there’s a theme here) had a couple of holes in it and very obvious staples! The carpet was very warn out and bare in places. Then there was the bed. My husband and I have stayed in a lot of hotels, in different countries, from very expensive to budget. The night we spent here was the WORST sleep I have ever had in my entire life. The bed was rock hard, not “this is a nice firm mattress which will support my back”, more like “I might as well be laying on the pavement outside, it would be more comfortable”. That plus the pillows which were like rocks too, the room should of been Fred Flintstone themed. Lastly, the duvet, what can I say about that???? It reminded me of Hospital linen. It was hard and clearly been boiled to death. So this resulted in a awful nights sleep, so much so that I went home and had a nap! I was that knackered. We stayed here for convenience but honestly I won’t be staying here ever again. If anyone I know decides to get married here again I’ll be saving my money and getting a cab home! Or grab a bus up the hill to the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath. Collapse

Everything worked in the room with a few extra coffee/tea and milk then the standard which was nice. Windows opened which was also nice for a little fresh air. Room could be some walk from the lift so when booking, keep this in mind. Plenty of parking and I do like the separate restaurant and in the evening the service was very good. I did not have the breakfast while I stayed but I belive from my work colleges the the service was very poor and they were always shortages of cooked items ie eggs with the staff not being attentive to the shortages. I will be very happy to stay again. Collapse
