The Holiday Inn at Bexley appears to cater primarily for business conferences and workshops. Slightly misleading to describe it as 'London-Bexley' really as it's 12 miles outside! The rooms are functional and so long as you don't mind waiting until mid afternoon to have your room made up and then only after 2 phone calls to Reception and an hour and a half wait, then this might be for you. Don't expect housekeeping to pick up the phone any time soon though, because despite phoning a number of times they failed to pick up any! Three calls to Reception went unanswered on our first night. I had to email the person who took our booking to establish whether it was 24/7, which it was supposed to be. The breakfast is way, way over-priced and the choice really poor. The fruit juices were not chilled and were topped up from cartons of concentrated juice. The scrambled eggs were cold and the hash browns would make a good foundation material if they were ever to build an extension. The croissants were so small I can only assume they were made for the characters of The Borrowers. If you like yoghurt, only one kind available I'm afraid. Although you can top this with, er just the one topping. Hope you like blackberries. Am I being too critical? Maybe. But when I think this cost almsot £12 a night EACH, I don't think so. A five minute walk into Bexley Village will give you much better value so, unless your company is picking up the bill, I would avoid this option at the hotel. Judging from how few people were in the restaurant I'm guessing many have already picked up on this. Charging guests £5 a day for car parking is an absolute disgrace, especially when they are already charging way over the odds for the accomodation. Check-in and out was a very 'cold' experience. We were not asked on departure whether we enjoyed ours stay! Unbelievable really, given that negative feedback is a way by which improvements are identified. Positives? The bed was comfortable and the room we had was quiet although it was a long, long walk from the lift! Conclusion? We wouldn't stay here again, but if you need to get on the A2 to drive the 12 miles to London then it could be ok for you. But pricewise, I put this one firmly in the £80-100 a night bracket. Hotel was noticeably busy with a party, staff were still very friendly and efficient. Bedroom perfect, no noise during the night and overall very clean as usual. Ling on Reception very helpful, friendly and welcomed me back from our last stay.
