I have stayed at this hotel for my trips to Hong Kong since 2012 and wrote a review at the time. I am not an advocate for the IHG group, more negative experiences than positive in the last year. But here is an updated review and I am a Platinum Elite member. The rooms are dated, but I am a smoker and in hotels where smoking is still permitted, the rooms tend to be less 'prettier' regardless of brand and location, so in my travels, this has become an expectation for me. However, my room always has what I need and is serviced to a high standard. I like the location and I like the staff. Breakfast buffet at the Bistro always has abundance of choice and I alternate between the Bistro and the Business lounge. The Bistro can get very busy, but I never had to wait for a table or at the egg station. I brought a small number of colleagues with me on this trip who would normally stay elsewhere. When I checked in, and it was early, it was reconfirmed that I wanted a smoking room and was renovated rooms was mentioned. I assumed if I were a non smoker, I would have been allocated one, I am not certain. There was a lot of noise and whilst I was in the room during the time work was being carried out, it felt as though it were directly above me. However, since I was in Hong Kong for work, I left most days before it started and returned when it has stopped. But the first I was aware of renovation work taking place was when I entered my room, heard it and saw a printed flyer on the desk advising of the work. In my mind, 'somewhere', notification during the booking process should be made, at the very least, on the IHG website. None the less, when I checked out in the Business Lounge, I was attended to by a gentleman, I think, Marcel. He asked if my stay was enjoyable and I mentioned the noise. He sought to address this immediately. In fairness, it is sometimes difficult to address a dissatisfaction after the event rather than during a stay. I won't say how he turned the the situation around, since I have read other guests were taken care of in varying ways, but it was remedied in a professional, timely and satisfactory way. The way it was handled has not deterred me from booking this same property again when I next visit Hong Kong. My experience with Customer Service at this hotel has always been positive and that is why I will return. Collapse

We were looking forward to our stay in Hong Kong and at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile. Unfortunately the hotel is undergoing major renovations and will be for the next 12 months. When we arrived in our small room the first thing we found was a notice advising that the renovations would be going from Monday to Saturday each week and from 8.00am till 7.00pm. At the same time we heard the jack hammers and the drilling from the room above our bed. We went down to see the manager to arrange another room but were advised the renovations are happening through the entire hotel and all rooms are affected by the the noise. We were offered complimentary breakfast to keep the peace. Had we known that the hotel was undergoing a 12 month refurbishment we would have stayed somewhere else as it stopped us enjoying the hotel. One night the noise continued until 8pm ! On a positive note the breakfast was very nice and we didn't need to set an alarm clock to wake up due to the noise and vibrations. Collapse

Stayed for three days at this property and had a wonderful stay. Early flight so upon check-in I was informed that the King size rooms were yet not available but was offered a room with two doubles. Rooms were spacious (specially for hong kong) and very well kept. Bathroom a bit on the small size but it was just fine. All rooms provide a smart phone that you can use outside the hotel with free local calls and wifi. You can use the hot to connect your mobile saving you roaming charges. Location is fantastic. Its right at the Tsim Sha Sui metro stop which makes it a great place to move around moth to Hong Kong Island (only two stops to central) and Kowloon side. Around the hotel there are loads of restaurants and shops. Very busy area. Overall a very nice stay and would stay over again Collapse

We recently stayed at the Golden Mile as returning visitors. The hotel’s location is terrific, walking distance to the main attractions in Kowloon and a few steps to the train station MTR. Giving this 5 stars for the excellent service at this four star hotel. The hotel is easily reachable from HK airport with the airport express and it’s the first stop on the free shuttle. The rooms are large and impeccably clean. The pool on the roof is a pleasurable place on a hot day. The check in process was smooth and quick, especially appreciated after our long journey and late arrival. Kudos to Andrew at the front desk who greeted us warmly and professionally. As the hotel was not full, we really appreciated the late checkout and employees like Andrew that make all the difference in the hotel's reputation and quality of service. We stayed in one of the rooms that was not renovated yet and the furniture and bathrooms are dated but that did not spoil our stay at all. The breakfast is awesome. There’s everything western, ethnic and local that you can imagine. The service in the breakfast room was terrific. There’s a nice lounge bar with a relaxing atmosphere for drinks and small bites. We will definitely return here on our next visit to HK. Collapse
