We stayed here while visiting our daughter who is in Uni in Stirling. The hotel is out of the city, close to a sports centre, a shopping centre and an industrial estate! There's also a bar and restaurant across the car park. I had a low expectation given that this is budget accommodation but I was so pleasantly surprised. The staff are 5 star. The girls in reception are so friendly and welcoming. I'm going to single Hannah for special mention. I have no doubt that this girl will be running her own 5 star establishment at some point. The room, although modest, had an enormous and comfortable bed. Bathroom was spotless with lovely big fluffy bath towels.. something you don't always get in more salubrious surroundings. Breakfast was buffet style. If you arrive later for breakfast (after 9 or so!) some items are empty..sausages or bacon. But the staff on duty will deliver freshly cooked ones to your table. Again, here, the staff were excellent. I'll mention Brooke who was working her socks off to ensure that everyo0ne in the restaurant was looked after (and she was on her own) . It's about a 15 minute walk into Stirling along the Forth trail..a lovely riverside walk. Well done Holiday Inn. I was surprised! And I'll definitely return! Collapse

Can't believe what good value this hotel is. The staff were really friendly from check in to check out, and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. After reading awful reviews for the restaurant next door, we opted to dine in at the hotel which was a bit pricey for standard burgers, pizzas etc. but after a long day the food was delicious nonetheless! The breakfast buffet in the morning was included with the price of our room, and was well stocked with all the options you could want. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way if you wanted to be in the town centre, but is nice and quiet with minimal to no noise from the roads. Would definitely recommend if you're staying in the area! Collapse

Stayed for one ( cold ) night in February, when the temperature was freezing and it snowed overnight. Friendly welcome and a good room for the very good price, clean and comfortable, with good wifi. Arrived late after a long drive, so decided to eat dinner there rather than go into Stirling - food ( pizzas & burgers ) were perfectly ok if a bit unexceptional. Breakfast the following morning was adequate, especially for the price of the stay. If I needed to stay in Stirling in the future, I'd definitely look at staying here again. Collapse
Really good value but a few complaints

Went to this hotel because i was working in Stirling that weekend. The hotel itself was was very modern and our room was very clean, but the room was cold, very cold. we put the air con on high but all it did was be very noisy and blast very hot air onto the bed underneath it and left the other half of the room cold as ever. the tea and coffee tray had no hot chocolate which i thought would have been a nice touch. The staff were very nice, kind and friendly as always they did nothing but want to be as helpful as possible. we ordered dinner that night and i was really underwhelmed, we ordered down at the bar and it was limited with a couple of pizza's, chicken burger, chilli or something else that i have forgotten. It was quite expensive at about £11-£15. It was very slow and wasn't ready for another 45mins and when it was brought up to the room it was cold, the chicken was incredibly tough and my chips were a bit burnt. the chilli was very good though. the breakfast was very good also with all that you would expect and a bit more, sausages, eggs, bacon, all the continental stuff and muffins and pastries. not in a great area unless you like a sports centre, rubbish restaurant or a Morrison's. it isn't very near the town centre either. This was a very cheap hotel so we weren't expecting too much.... It's a £7 taxi journey into the centre of Stirling. The staff were very welcoming. The room was lovely and the bed very comfy so we slept really well. The breakfast was included in the price. I'm not a great fan of buffet breakfast as they can be a bit cold...but what a great surprise, the food was piping hot, there was only a choice of 4 items but at the price who would complain. The food was topped up regularly which meant it was hot and fresh. The toaster worked perfectly. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return here...excellent find! Collapse
