Great position for Legoland being only 10 minutes drive away. Hotel was great. Family room perfect size but some noise from the train station next to the hotel but not enough to disturb you unless you're a really light sleeper! Parking for this hotel is terrible though with only just over 20 spaces and parking at the train station next to the hotel quite expensive and a pain to pay for when the only machine is not working! Went to Legoland and Windsor. Weather fine. Hotel staff gave us printed directions to Legoland which were very easy to follow. Took us about 15 minutes to get there. Breakfast was very good. Only continental, but food was of good quality, plenty of choice to eat and drink. Went into London the next day. Our family of 4 got a combined rail journey to Paddington with a travel card for £5.50 each. Very good value! Parking in Slough was just £7 per 24 hours. The station was a minutes walk from the hotel entrance, and trains ran until the early hours of the morning. A 24 hour tesco store in also a 5 minute walk away. Bar meals were available in the hotel until 10pm, and the hotel offered various menus for take away food as well. Pizza hut delivered to the door! Drinks were available from the bar when ever you wanted them. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The beds are very comfortable. All in all, a very enjoyable stay at a very low price!!. Collapse

I pride myself on being a positive person and have stayed with holiday inn on many happy occasions. It pains me to place a 'but' here BUT .. there was not one positive thing i could say about this place or its staff. Having been booked in here by my employer to attend training nearby, i arrived after a 2 hour drive to a gated car park with no more that 15 spaces with zero availability having been told there was parking on site. Pregnant, tired and travelling alone, i decided to call reception only to be told there was nothing they could do so to park 6 streets away on yellow lines or to use the payable car park (at £12 a day) - with not instructions of how to get there & no cash on me. I advised i had been having a rough pregnancy and asked for help with my bags but was told they couldn't help. The parking 6 streets away meant i had to move my car by 7am or be clamped.. not the start to my day away on business i had hoped for. Having got the to hotel lobby, i was finally given my room card as i stood there exhausted and rained on. Again, no help with my bags to the room and as i got to my door the card did not work. i had to lug my bags back down to reception and was given a new card - this again didn't work and had to call my partner for some support. I made yet another trip to the reception desk, no apology, no offer of help.. just another card as they walked away unconcerned - worst customer service ever. Finally settled, with a view of the train tracks outside my window, i decided to ask for room service (having stayed in holiday inns before and been offered this service) but was told they didnt offer this and i would have to eat alone in the bar or carry the food to my room myself! I ordered and ate at the bar, a dry microwaved pasta dish.. the icing on the cake...but here comes the cherry. i had never felt so tired, it was finally bed time. like sleeping on a brick, the bed was hard & uncomfortable but at this stage i expected nothing less.. as i laid my head on the lumpy pillow i closed my eyes and was greeted by the sound of trains passing just yards away all night. Knowing i had to be up to get ready, have breakfast and move my car by 7am; i rang reception and was told all they could do was give me some ear buds and that it was a common complaint. Having to set my alarm for 5.30am, i had to decide against the ear buds in case i didnt hear my alarm. worst night i have ever spent away from home & the worst part is, i have another night to go. This hotel offers nothing but limitations and awful service, do not stop here! Collapse

Just a single night stay before a meeting, and it serves the purpose very well. Very close to the train station, so certainly convenient. The bar was full of rowdy and demanding young men - builders or similar - obviously thirsty, but it is what it is. The evening menu is limited but absolutely fine food. A little costly for what it is, but I suppose it props up the cheaper room rate. The one thing that strikes me as taking advantage of the captive audience - The vending machine is daylight robbery - 100g bag of revels is £3, or £30 a kilo and £2 for a diet coke bottle could challenge the airports when it comes to taking the Michael Collapse

Booking.com: The hotel shows up when you look for a hotel "with Parking" and the description says it has parking (a P). Hotel website: "Complimentary Self Parking Available" In fact they have 26 spaces for a 150 room hotel. Parking costs £12.00 per night in public carparks. I arrived at around 6.30pm to find the car park not just full but bursting the the point that the fire "keep clear" areas were full, I could not even turn my car around to get out of the car park. I was given a leaflet to "alternative parking". The first was full. The second was a smidge under half a mile away. I was too scared to walk alone, with two bags to the hotel in the dark. The crime statistics for that postcode are shocking vindicating my perceptions of safety and thus my fear levels. I know not all hotels have parking but this hotel would never had been booked for me as a lone female in a car had it not been for the information on the websites. I would like to see the website description made much clearer to give a true representation of the situation to prevent others suffering the humiliation of trying to manoeuvre a large car backwards through a parking barrier, the frustration of trying two car parks and the fear of walking alone though a very decrepit area of a town with fairly high "theft from person" and "violent crime" statistics. With regarding sleep: they did provide earplugs....need I say more? Read other reviews. Breakfast was fine, the hotel is clean. Collapse

To be honest, I didn't enjoy this place or Slough. My recollection of this place is dominated by the limited parking space available and the type of client this hotel attracts. This hotel is used by people travelling into London for partying etc so I think it gets a little rowdy at the weekend, while the the area around is very much a concrete mountain. No offence intended but by appearance this place is my kind of nightmare - but for the lack of pool and sunshine, this has the appearance of a cheap holiday resort in spain or turkey. The majority of the cars entering the car park have to exit straight back out because they can't see that there is very limited parking, and with a very limited turning circle, it soon gets very messy - some people create their own spaces. Once a car tries to exit, the driver realises they need to get an exit code from reception at other end of the car park. Half the conversations outside typically included questions about what the code is, with many people not knowing. We tried to eat in the restaurant but the service was non-existant, and once the kids had been running around for ten minutes, decided to skip it. It may have been a blessing in disguise judging by the state of the menus which were sticky, dirty looking and were falling apart. I have scored this hotel according to the price paid and because I don't believe the hotel can do much about the outside environment. Note that the vending machine items are very expensive but that the cool beer from the bar was nice. Collapse
