Decide to have a nostalgic visit to Thanet where I had many holidays as a family staying in a caravan. Pleasant trip to Canterbury. River trip worth going on. Recommend park and ride. Hotel was easy to find, bright clean and comfortable within easy access to other places and near to village of Minster where there are pubs a supermarket and other small shops and a popular indian restaurant. Pity that the hotel restaurant is only open Monday to Friday. Many attractions around, plenty of coastal walking, cycling(the viking trail) and seaside towns. Broadstairs still looking much the same after all those years. Good beaches and cliff walks. Parking difficult at weekends. Manston airport worth visiting if you are interested in aeroplanes. Stopped at Whitstable on the way home. Busy lively town and greast for fresh seafood!. Collapse

Booked this hotel instead of the travel lodge or San Clu (comfort inn) which is our normal hotel whilst working in Ramsgate. Booked as part of their global sale so we paid a good price. Nicely surprised on arrival, modern, clean rooms and reception with a nice bar area where you could have a glass on wine and read your book for an hour to keep you out of the bedroom. Small evening meal menu which was fine, except the meals including veg and mashed potatoes all came out of the microwave, disappointing! Would definitely avoid the slow roasted lamb shank and it wasn’t cheap either. Thank god for the coop. Having said that breakfast was fine and the Shiraz was great too. Nice temperature. Collapse

We booked one nights stay here on the last minute as we wanted to have a look around Broadstairs. We weren't anticipating anything fantastic as the price was so low £47 for 1 night with breakfast for 2 people. We booked an accessible room as my husband has mobility issues. (Just need to mention here, that the postcode for the hotel isn't compatible with the sat nav which sends you left at the roundabout instead of right, but you can actually see the hotel on the right before you turn off) On arrival we were pleasantly surprised, large car park, free parking plenty of disabled slots. Smooth check-in we were greeted by a lovely young man (2nd June 14.00hrs) very helpful explained everything to us regarding restaurant/breakfast etc. We were given a room on the ground floor room 122, lovely large room, cleaned to a high standard, AC, flat screen TV, comfortable twin beds, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron/ironing board, large accessible bathroom/wetroom suitable for a wheelchair with 2 wash basins, high toilet, grab rails, shower/handwash provided, good sized towels. Also available on reception top up items if you've forgotten anything. On booking we had asked for extra pillows in the room, was surprised to see this was done. Beds extremely comfortable and choice of pillows, bed linen clean and fresh, nice clean decor and curtains. Hotel was very quiet at night so had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was included in the price, what a treat cereal, fruit, yoghurts, toast ( bon ma'mon preserves :) ,pastries, plus full English, buffet style help yourself, lavatza coffee machines, fruit juice. This hotel had thought of everything they even have grab bags for you to take breakfast away, plus the food was good quality .Breakfast area was lovely, clean, spacious, plenty of seats, some lovely features in what must have been an old building previously. Breakfast staff polite, friendly and on the ball, continually replenishing food, and clearing tables. Checkout smooth and hassle free. There is a bar/restaurant in this hotel plus vending machine and ice machine, in the reception. Lifts to all floors. Opposite hotel is a CO-OP, 24 hour McDonalds, and a pub restaurant. Its location is brilliant for visiting most of the coastal area's in Kent. We have always used Premier Inns and Travelodge previously. This was our 1sr time staying in a Holiday Inn, if this is the standard of other Holiday Inns think we maybe converted. Premier Inns and Travelodge should actually come along and see the high standard that Holiday Inn are offering guest, not only with the included breakfast, but with the standard of the rooms and in particular the accessible rooms for disabled clients, plus the competitive prices. They could perhaps learn a lot. Well Done Holiday Inn and Thank you for a lovely overnight stay Collapse

On a whim we recently decided to visit childhood destinations of Ramsgate and Margate. Yes the Holiday Inn Express is located just outside Ramsgate but the services offered more than make up for the location. We still had a sea view from our room but also lovely countryside as well. The staff were very friendly and professional and more than helpful on the few requests we had. Breakfast is included and it was a very good choice, free wi-fi and a very comfortable bed. Compared to Travellodge and Premier Inn and recent stays with those organisations I will definitely use this Holiday Inn again and I will now look for other Holiday Inn's to stay at in other parts of the country. Stayed for two nights, and just needed a base near the Kent coast, which this provided. Plenty of parking, Good service from check in. Clean, modern rooms. Basic but adequate room facilities. Staff very helpful and polite (actually a credit to the company). Didn't use the bar as we were out in the evening. The only thing that let the stay down was the organisation, or lack of it at breakfast time. Admittedly the hotel was full over a bank holiday weekend, but the facilities in the self serve breakfast area could not cope. The queue for the self serve coffee machine trailed back to prevent people from getting food, and the queue for the toaster blocked any passage through. The company needs to invest in more vending machines if buffet style breakfast is to be continued, because by the time toast, coffee and breakfast are all collected, at least 2 items are cold. But then, after you have collected your breakfast, there are not enough tables for everyone to sit at. There were plenty of staff to assist, and a "meeting room" was unlocked so some diners could sit around a table, but really, all the staff could do was make sure the diners used the self serve facilities quickly and organise the queues. It's the design of the breakfast area and lack of equipment that's the issue when the hotel is full, not the staff. That's the only gripe though. Would I stay here again? Yes. Collapse
