Well this is first time i've felt compelled to write a review, which I am afraid will be to the point but factual. I am a platinum holiday inn member so stay at a lot of hotels but this was not good. Check in - terrible, no one there for 10 mins so i ended up phoning hotel, it rang in reception but was not answered. Eventually someone else phoned a member of staff and they came to reception. Room booked - i always book double on hol inn app (and would not book if not available) but was given twin and told that my room had been given to someone else as hotel was full and told to deal with it in the morning as no manager in. Room - nice enough with good bathroom but bed was very soft and old and there was a lot of corridor / other room noise (some i accept but creaking floorboards and banging fire door in corridor outside my room is not good). I would of mentioned all this when i checked out but i wasn't asked how my stay was which is very unusual in itself. I have emailed hotel but awaiting response, another reason for doing review. Generally i am happy with holiday inn but not this hotel. Collapse

I have just stayed at this hotel and have got to say it was excellent value for money. £56 for a double room, which had a balcony, albeit the scenery was the local McDonalds and Enterprise rent a car, still on a nice evening it would be good to sit out and enjoy a drink. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. The usual Holiday Inn express breakfast fare was of good quality and the sausages and bacon were not smothered in grease. Overall a very comfortable stay and would certainly use again if in the area. Collapse

The bedrooms have been refurbished and we're adequate for a one night stay. The shower was rubbish, one minute warm the next red hot. What really let it down was the rest of the hotel, it was looking very tired. The staff need some training to, when we came to check out the receptionist was getting a cup of coffee from the machine in the restaurant, leaving no one on reception. Like I said it's OK for one night. Breakfast was pretty good especially for the price of the stay. Collapse

Located close to the railway station is a plus but there are more negatives. Near a McDonald's restaurant with a drive through so you hear noise well into the night. Macon Way, the main road at the front of the hotel, has lots of traffic passing throughout the day and night also creating bedroom noise. The air con/cooling can be hit and miss and you could ask for a stand alone fan. Breakfast buffet the same as most Holiday Inn Express establishments. There are other hotels in the area but all suseptable to the road and other residents returning and making excessive noise. Collapse

A we'll known UK Coach uses this Hotel for their excursions hotel accommodation, dinner & b'fast. Check in of 52 PAX -tired and famished, after a journey up from Berkshire or Kent-with a stop off in ☔️wet Chester. Steps to enter hotel not disable friendly- many pax had difficulties climbing them. 1 small lift only. Arrived at room, via narrow wooden staircase- 1st floor. Hallway carpets stained & threads running. Room ok - sheets looked crumpled. Twin room- (2) persons.1 bath towel in room, 2 tiny hand towels! Lighting/not adequate for the room. H/drier works ok, shower was not temperature controlled and the rose fitting needed a proper descale. H&S issue. Liked blue low down light in b/room. Went to Dining area -seating full. We and another couple found an area to sit/eat- described as a conference breakout areaby management photos. The hard plastic seats/bench were split & exposed padding -delightful NOT. Dinner: Tomato Soup all gone - no bread rolls :-(- on tonight's menu was a cottage pie i.e. mincemeat and mashed potato mixed up together in a big caldron - the bottom was burnt and looked fit for animal consumption! (If I can access my photos the proof will be there)! Another dish - with mincemeat? Cutlery- was smeared and dirty. Management knew about this pre booked tour- so why was 3 staff only on rota to cover 3 stations- they did their upmost to keep calm, It's the management's responsibility to ensure adequate staff or management fill in to assist? LMFAO! Is this Holiday Inn Express franchised? It's the pits. IHG -Denham -take a visit and inspect this Hotel on a coach party day? I will be sending my comments to the well known UK based coach company who organised this tour. PS - coach no7 got the Premier Inn- I wished we had. I bought my breakfast from local petrol/Tesco shop incase, of the disgust what would greet us for our breakfasts. Do Not Use Hotel - Until revamped and Holiday Inn Express - you have your reputation to uphold - the management of this outlet should be fired! Simply - appaulling:-( Collapse
