Stayed here for 3 nights during Ironman weekend. Close to town centre witch was great! Breakfast was good! The room has seen better days to be honest. Dirty curtains, absolutely filthy carpet with stains all over! Bathroom had black long hairs on floor tiles, and foundation all over tiles by bathroom sink from previous occupants. The only good thing was the comfy bed. The heat on the room was so hot all the time there was no air! I had to get medical assistance for my husband after Ironman, as he almost collapsed from the heat in the room. FairPlay to the first aider that came to the room within minutes of me ringing reception. She was absolutely fantastic & nothing was too much bother for her. She was so professional. All of the staff here are amazing and so friendly & helpful with everything. Always a smile at reception! Just those few niggles with the room. Apart from this, everything was fantastic. The rooms just need a deep clean & updating! Collapse

I last stayed here in May 2017 due to working locally and I am back here again. Nothing has changed only this time I booked an executive room. The staff at this hotel are a CREDIT to the citizens of Bolton. Straight-forward , helpful and chatty. Breakfast and dinner no issues. The issue here is that IHG have neglected this hotel and kept it to a 1970’s condition. As an IHG platinum member, I stay in hotels all over the country and this has to be the worse room conditioned hotel ever. Carpet look like not hoovered in years and I woke up with dust inhalation. Curtains are soiled and the executive room view was stunning!(not). Come on IHG, a decent spec hotel brings in the guests and they will boost the local economy. The casino across the road is doing very well purely because nobody would want to sit in their room at this hotel! Collapse

The standard rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable. the food is good the restaurant service was slow to the point they forgot to put my order through so waited over an hour for a salad. not impressed but the hotel manager Libby was brilliant. went the extra mile to ensure all was put right. the newbie in the restaurant - Mathew was very good.. He made it clear he was new and went to ask his peers for answer where he did not know. I would recommend this hotel. Dont expect too much from the leisure suite! Collapse

This hotel was our worse nightmare. The hotel is old and does not look very clean. The hotel also offer car parking for their guests which we considered more secure than left our car in the street. However during our stay our car was vandalised in the middle of the night while it was parked in the hotel car park. This car park is actually under the hotel itself and our car was next to the door that give you entrance to the hotel, but no one saw or listened anything (very suspicious). Our car had 2 broken windows, the service book and 2 bags with new clothes we got for our kids were stolen. The CCTV didn't have enough information for the police to do something. The hotel does not want to be responsible for the damages. The management had a terrible attitude with us being ironic about the event. They also asked us to do the check out when we were calling police and insurance, knowing obviously we did not have anywhere to go as the car needed to be fixed. For this reason, we stayed around 6 hours with our kids (2 and 9 years old) in the lobby, while our insurance could solve the windows of our car. My toddler could not have a place to take a nap due to the circumstances. The hotel has empty rooms and could have offered us one while we solved the issues. The attention was really poor, I wouldn't stay in this hotel ever again. Collapse
