Good hotel shame about the room location as I was upgraded to an executive room and it was at the front of the hotel. Random alarm went off at 5.30 and reception staff couldnt tell me what it was. Good hotel, great food in restaurant, recommend the cauliflower soup as its the best ever with parmesan cheese and truffle oil! Tasted delicilious! Definitely have that again and Orlando and his team are great!!! Collapse

My old Regiment was given the Freedom of the City of Birmingham on Friday 11th May. I went to attend the parade and meet many old comrades. The Holiday Inn was excellant, staff, food, location. The room which was excellant, clean and of a good size, however was on the 1st floor and on the same side as the main road. The noise during the night was dreadful. The hotel could do with a double glazing upgrade. Collapse

I titled the best bit about the hotel. The next best thing was the decor around ground floor reception area. Beyond that the place was abysmal. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have ears as the amount of noise from drunk students on the main road makes you feel like YOU need ten shots of Vodbulls to cancel your lack of sleep out. I thought the dinner and room service breakfast was average. The food wasn’t yummy and it looked thrown together but the staff were friendly. The room itself was lacklustre and really unkempt. Think frayed, stained carpets, broken tiles, dirty scummy bath tubs etc. Basic toiletry necessities aren’t readily available in the room too which I found inconvenient. Overall it’s noisy and inconvenient to say the least. 2/5 Collapse

This Holiday Inn is located close to the New Street railway station and it is an easy walk. The hotel is going through modernization. Part of that renewal drill is renewal of the elevators which means not all elevators are in service- expect long waiting times during peak hours. I stayed in the seventh floor, it has not been remodeled yet. It is pretty dark floor, decent room, comfortable bed but pretty bad noice insulation. Good breakfast. Really friendly service, especially Emilia at the reception. Collapse

Stayed here for a night to attend an event in the conference centre (attached to hotel) Very pleased with the hotel for location and friendliness, I was allowed to check in early as room was available two hours prior to check in. Bar prices cheap and good sized. Lovely breakfast, great attention to detail-I especially liked the small glass bottles of fruit juice. Would highly recommend there veggie options at breakfast, thank you for not forgetting those who don’t eat meat. Collapse

Visited here for work and had an evening meal included in the stay. I ordered goats cheese for my starter. The food came out quickly but the goats cheese wasn’t fully grilled and was cold in the middle and the toast was completely burnt. Sent it back and had a replacement which was fine. Ordered grilled piri piri chicken which was chargrilled but burnt again. No one came to check that my meal was ok and I just left half of it . Very poor. Hotel is undergoing renovations to the lifts but carpets are very worn and tired and the shower cubicle in bathroom looked grubby Collapse
