This review is not about anyone else, it’s just about ‘Jade’ the receptionist. Lady who checked us in evening was amazing and was really accommodating. However, Jade has a real challenging attitude and non apologetic behaviour. For me it was a rude attitude and so embarrassing for me and my family when we checked out. Before our arrival she did pre-authorisation even though we were on rewards night she still has pre-auth our room rate. When I rang her, she said ‘no this is how we do it’ well we stay in holiday inn all the time and on rewards night this never happens. Well she didn’t understand what I was referring so I said if it is pre-with that’s fine. On our arrival receptionist was really helpful she understood what we were talking about. And then she apologised for her behaviour. Well on our departure, Jade has created a chaos that We have to pay for our room even though her colleague can tell that we were on rewards night. In front of many guests in the lobby and in queue, she was extremely rude and pretending as if she knows but she didn’t. We showed her our email confirmations and she rang her duty manager who said yes it is rewards night. Then rather she would apologise, she said ‘it is IHG mistake’ Well I do understand Brilliant software and I do know how rewards night is posted back to IHG, but I was not there to teach her. Someone needs to sort her attitude, this was the only non professional receptionist I’ve ever met with no manners of talking to customers, eye contact with aggression, no smart uniform as if she just woke up and came to work. I do require some explaination that why was she so rude and why can’t she not change her behaviour? Breakfast 10:10 and ladies were brilliant Room 10:10 we loved our bedrooms Collapse

The pros: Very convenient location and quiet setting. Excellent staff - all of them. Friendly and helpful. Good selection of wines by the glass. Generous portions of food at dinner. Fairly extensive menu. Bedroom very large and comfortable. Absolutely excellent pressure in the shower. Excellent hair dryer. Not one of those awful attached to the wall dryers but a good quality one. Ironing board, hospitality tray. In fact all of the practical items that makes for a good stay. If the guest has forgotten some essential such as toothpaste or conditioner the hotel can provide. Drawbacks: The first room that we were allocated was on the side of the hotel adjacent to the A2 so noisy. We asked to be changed to another room and we were. Without any fuss. But if you are a light sleeper you might want to be aware of this. The other negative was that the hotel is experiencing some sort of difficulties with their air con. Unfortunately, the weather had changed to unseasonably cold but the hotel did provide heaters in our room so that did help. Overall, this is a very reasonably priced hotel in a good location that provides well for a traveller's needs and is serviced by friendly and helpful staff. We would certainly choose to stay here again. Collapse

The hotel is in a good spot, the first room Was on the small side and most of the electric sockets didn’t work, however the 2nd night was a massive improvement one thing they really need to get the AC sorted

We always stay here the night before our eurotunnel journey to France. Great location, very reasonably priced, comfy beds (although pillows are pretty thin & hard). Air con was being replaced whilst we were there but didn’t cause us any problems. Replacement shower head though was tiny, cheap & so out of place. Will be back later in the year though. Collapse
