The real Hilton experience I didn't find when I was staying here for 1 night with friends. What was good were the rooms; they were well maintained and luxury enough. The not-so-good parts were the not-so-clean pool area, the rooms could be better cleaned and the staff at the breakfast was a mix of very-friendly people and not-so-friendly waiters. Reporting this to the reception resulted in a direct compensation, but I'd have rather paid a full bill and experience a clean hotel with well-maintained pool area. The setting was beautiful right in the middle of a golf court. Collapse
Great, but needs a revamp

I stayed here for 2 nights recently and found it nice, but a little dated. It's in a nice location, the grounds lare lovely and the golf course looks nice, but the building isn't the prettiest. The room was nice, but quite dated, and that was the theme I got throughout the whole stay. It was all very nice, but needs some TLC to bring it up to standards. Paying for WIFI..... I thought that didn't even exist any more! You do get it free if you sign up to Hilton rewards. The first night I went to draw the curtains and the entire rail fell off the wall! Couldn't get it back on so woke up at 5:30 with the light coming in. It was fixed while I was out the following day swiftly so appreciated that. The shower and bathroom in general were the bits that most highlighted the need for an update, they were very dated. Pool area was nice, but again could do with an update. The gym was well equipped with lots of quality kit. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and the service was great throughout my stay. All in all I enjoyed my stay, but would want the hotel to be updated before I stayed again. All the staff were extremely helpful, nice and generally turned a 3 star into a 4 star stay. Collapse

Following the flight from London it was a short road journey to the hotel. A warm greeting from the lady at the front desk, registration was quick . Room was spacious and clean and equipped with the usual amenities although no USB ports /sockets , large comfortable bed room was quiet. I had a drink and a snack at the bar ,the bar was not busy, service was slow at times but staff were friendly. Breakfast buffet was delicious and service was friendly. If you like golf and/or spas or a quiet break at a beautiful location this is the place everyone made me feel welcome. Collapse

I stayed here with work over the weekend of St Patrick’s day. We paid for dinner bed and breakfast, we chose to have the £15 hotel credit for dinner to be applied to the bar account as the food in the main restaurant appeared very formal with limited selection. The bar food was good, standard pub grub type food which we enjoyed. The bar has nice cocktails. The general lobby of the hotel is tired, there are some missing pictures on the walls and generally needed some TLC to make it look fresher. The rooms, whilst the bed was comfortable, the room just felt dated. The wall heater was out of the ark and noises, it kept me awake during the night. Bathroom was ok, a little tired looking generally with a few cracked tiles. Towels were amazing though as was the orange scented shower gel! Hall ways and corridors had room service trays sitting outside, this is fine, but some there from 10pm to 9am when we visited. Pool opening hours were not what is advertised on the website, advertisedas opening earlier than they opened and closing before. I was annoyed by this as I would have liked an early morning swim before breakfast. Breakfast was good, very varied and fresh. Would I stay again, perhaps in the summer when the heating isn’t required and work were paying, I wouldn’t choose to pay for this out of my own money. Collapse
