We recently stayed for 3 nights in an Executive room on the 7th floor. The bathroom was spacious with a separate shower, the bedroom had a large bed facing floor to ceiling window, no view due to bad weather. On our first night we checked in late (10pm,) we went to the Settimo lounge on our floor for coffee and was disappointed it was closed. We had read in several places that it was open until 11pm but that is only in the Summer, evening drinks and a small selection of canapes are available 6-8pm, the lounge closes at 9pm The weather was quite cold with mist & rain so we couldn't appreciate the view guests have mentioned in reviews. The outdoor pool is lovely but deserted due to cold weather, the pool on the Executive floor is just a long narrow concrete tank. In contrast the indoor pool is in a beautiful setting natural stone backdrop and artwork on the other walls, loungers & fluffy towels. The location is very quiet at night except for the occasional noisy guest, there is a short cut through the orange & lemon grove to the town. It is the staff that made this hotel special for us hence the 5* rating, all were friendly but Francesca at Reception was amazing and also Nicola & Francesca at the Settimo lounge, so welcoming. We will return to this lovely hotel. Collapse

This place is magnificent – marble everywhere, acres of space overlooking the Bay of Naples, citrus groves in the garden and swimming pools to die for. But it is not quite as perfect as it might appear at first sight. First the positives: wonderfully comfy beds, great breakfast with friendly service, bar ditto, reception too. But cleanliness is suspect and the over-bath shower positively pericoloso, because the bathrooms have not been renovated to the same standard as the public areas. As for the restaurant, we ate there three times. The food was dreadful, and the service worse. What a contrast to the bar just a few metres away. It is astonishing to me that such consistently different standards of service can be allowed to exist side-by-side in the same establishment. Collapse

The letter handed to me by the gentleman at the Reception Desk stated: “We hope your stay will be a memorable one and that you will find your home away from home in our Settimo Executive Lounge.” Wow! What a warm welcome! The Hilton Sorrento was our palatial home base for visiting the villages along Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, and the isle of Capri. Our stay was indeed an unforgettable one. When we first checked in, a wonderful lady from the Reception Desk ushered us into the elevator and showed us how to get to the 7th Floor. The spectacular view from our corner room afforded us a slice of paradise! The beds are configured so that the first thing your eyes feast on when you hit the remote-controlled draperies is the stunning view of the city by the Bay of Naples, and Mt Vesuvius peering through the clouds! Below us is a blanket of lemon and orange groves. Heavenly! The room is huge with complete amenities...a safe, work table, and a carafe for coffee/tea. The bathroom awaits you with fluffy bath robes and slippers. The bathroom is equally spacious with a tub and a separate shower with all the bells and whistles. We frequented the Executive Lounge, where more than sufficient breakfast items were served. A complimentary lunch, tea time, dinner snacks and drinks were also served. At the Executive Lounge, there is a covered balcony overlooking the city, the bay, and the mountains. Sometimes, a few doves fly by and keep you company. There is also an infinity pool to the left of the Executive lounge balcony. The palace is a 10-min walk to Corso Italia (I actually clocked it!) There is a back door access by the garden that cuts down the walk versus using the main lobby. The garden boasts a restaurant in the middle of the lemon and orange groves. What a paradise! The staff was extremely helpful especially the lady at the Business Center, who printed our train tickets as I couldn't figure out the characters on the keyboard. As it has been my practice to leave tips daily for my room housekeeper. I left the money on the vanity but she didn’t take it. This demeanor speaks volumes of the honesty and integrity of the staffs. The second time around, I left the money with my Thank You note, of which she responded “grazie”. She also expressed her gratitude again when she saw me at the hallway. On the morning of our departure, I got up early to take a shower. There was NO hot water. I called the Reception desk to complain. He said other rooms on the 7th Floor also had an issue. He apologized profusely and offered for us to go the 6th Floor but we turned down the offer. So we took a cold shower and it must have been the quickest we have ever taken! LOL! Overall, the Hilton Sorrento was indeed our palace in the Campagna region...our home away from home. It definitely deserves a rating of 5-sparkling ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ . Collapse
