Staff here were all really great, helpful and friendly. Only downside to this hotel (and it wasnt a problem for us) was no lift (but I am sure we could have had a ground floor room if we had needed/asked) . Lovely weekend and we will be back

Stayed for one night. Usual excellent welcome at reception that is synonymous with Hilton. But the corridors and decor walking to the room set a tone of a tired hotel; reinforced with peeling paint in the bathroom and worn out furniture in the room. Food in the bar was okay. Not stunning but late at night it did the job. Disappointed that on ordering a pint of lime and soda bar staff didn’t use draught soda water but used two bottles of soda water at £2.50 each. So a pint of fizzy water cost £5. Compared to 500ml of IPA from the same bar at £5.70 that just ranks as ridiculous and taking advantage. Which I don’t expect from Hilton and I don’t experience in other Hilton hotels. In summary not a Hilton I will use again until it’s had a refurbishment. Collapse

I spent one night on my way from Milton Keynes. I had never been to Northampton before. CHECK IN Check in was brief and uneventful. I was upgraded to a suite which was great. The hotel is definitely old and lacks a modern outlook but the staff were cheerful helpful and hospitable which made all the difference! PARKING There is free parking on the premises with plenty of space. Makes a nice difference from the £5 parking fee other hotels charge. ROOM The room was clean and comfortable but old fashioned and probably due for an upgrade. I slept well and the view was great. LEISURE There is a full fledged leisure centre. I viewed the gym and the pool but didn’t use the facilities as I was only there for a day. I did jog down the path by the side of the hotel for about 2km continuously which would come in handy for keep fit sorts and cyclists. FOOD AND ROOM SERVICE I ordered a late afternoon tea. I got the afternoon tea without the tea???? Perhaps because I ordered it in my room and they assumed I already had tea in the room ?? Not sure but I felt that was a bit strange. I must confess the afternoon tea was very basic also. BREAKFAST Breakfast Was super. A good assortment of well cooked and healthy and unhealthy meals ie bacon sausages etc in abundance. One of the best Hilton breakfasts I’ve had. I enjoyed the breakfast immensely and felt spoilt for choice so I sneaked some off to my room! Yes it was that good! STAFF All the staff were lovely! It’s good to get away from the bigger towns sometimes to appreciate the counties where things are still “normal” people smile and say hi and never seem bothered to help or too busy to chat. Yes Northampton was nice and the Hilton was bubbly. VERDICT I’d love for the hotel to be refurbished really but I would definitely stay again anyway because they made me feel at home and I loved their breakfast! Collapse
