This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we are already booked for a third. The rooms are lovely and spacious ours looked over Tyne Bridge which was really nice. The food was lovely we went with our son and his girlfriend and they enjoyed the variety of dishes especially the sharing starter tapas style. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The executive lounge also overlooks the Tyne Bridge which is a nice outlook for drinks and canapés in the evening and a light breakfast. The icing on the cake wasn’t the arrival of a football team but the fact that they had some sort of A Capella singing competition and they sang in the foyer afterwards, they were amazing we could have listened to them all night! Having won a competition with Newcastle and Gateshead initiative which included a 2 night stay at the Hilton, we were amazed by the standards throughout this hotel (so much so we stayed an extra night)! From Receptionists, restaurant staff, concierge, housekeeping etc., etc., all were outstsnding, but nothing could beat our executive room and the lounge on 5th floor. NEVER have we experienced such a complimentary service anywhere else in the world. Truly exceptional in every aspect, particularly the ladies who looked after us! We fell in love with Newcastle area and the Hilton hotel group is our new hotel of choice. With many thanks to all who made our stay so memorable. Collapse

With window views over the Tyne, friendly staff and an excellent restaurant this comes recommended if you need to be near the city center. We booked this at short notice and drove straight over to Tyneside from Lancaster and enjoyed every minute of our one night stay. Our room overlooked the river, was plenty big, clean and tidy with air conditioning too. The staff are friendly and helpful both in the bright airy lobby and in the dining room (well done restaurant staff!!). The hotel has a nice clean pool and fitness centre on a lower floor and a covered garage for cars. It did cost £12 to park overnight, but we parked Friday evening and our ticket was valid until midnight Saturday, even after we had checked out - so not too bad for being close to the city. It’s a shortish walk to the city centre so good for the shops and not too far from the railway station. With great views along the river in both directions this lovely hotel is well worth a try. Oh a tip as I see someone paid for WiFi - join Hilton Honours, book using the app or online, and get decent WiFi for free! Collapse

A few years a small fee for access would have been acceptable but not in 2018, or at that price. Not every guest is on an expense account. Get real. It is even free on most buses outside London these days. Collapse

Stopped at this lovely Hilton Hotel for one night with a friend. We were in room 139 which had a lovely view overlooking the Tyne River, we found all the staff extremely friendly. Big shout out to Russ the concierge man who even cleaned my vanity case for me as it had a mark on. Our room was immaculate and the breakfast was as good as you expect at a Hilton. Only had a couple of little niggles our room smelt every time you entered it, we think it was a problem with the drains as it was very unpleasant, we reported it to reception. Also we didn’t get offered tea or coffee at breakfast. It wouldn’t stop us from stopping again and the beautiful weather definitely helped. Collapse
