Stayed three nights at Hilton Tamiami recently and “upgraded” to a suite, staying in the “Old Florida Suite”, room 209. Clearly the emphasis should be on “old”. Shower control cover was failing and corroded. On day 1 I badly cut my finger on the corroded part. Staff taped over the corrosion that eve and promised to repair the next day but never did. Bathroom with shower badly smelled of mildew. Maintenance person came in, shrugged his shoulders and left. Decor in suite is also badly out of date. Gray carpets, pumpkin orange chairs, desk and hard goods reminiscent of the ‘70’s just don’t feel like south Florida. To top it off there was a fashion show in the ballroom the last eve with incredibly loud music that was very disruptive on the second floor until 11 pm. Front desk staff was very apologetic about all the problems but largely unable to do anything about them. Food quality and service at Shula’s, the hotel restaurant, was very good. Naples doesn’t have a large choice of luxury hotel properties but there are clearly better alternatives than the Hilton. Collapse

Very luxurious property, not far from 5th ave (downtown Naples). Will definitely come back, love having the chance to pick between !valet and self parking. Few options for food outside the hotel. Briana at front desk was great!

This time around, I noticed a few changes. I guess its all in how you interpret the staff as to how you let it effect your opinion of the hotel. Let me start off by saying everything was clean, every issue was promptly addressed and for the most part a friendly staff. After a long travel morning, we entered the hotel and walked directly over to the registration desk. The very first words we heard from the desk clerk as we greeted her, was "I am frustrated!" Not exactly an "Hello or Welcome. After explaining her reason for being frustrated she focused on our reservation which needed some alterations and she fixed the issues right away. We stayed on the 4th floor (executive level) . Our "perk" was the benefit of having accessibility to the continental breakfast and happy hour. We were disappointed with the selections for breakfast Each morning our hot choice was eggs shaped in a triangle. That was it. There was no other hot selection for the 4 mornings we stayed there. They did offer fresh fruit, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal. We thought at a minimum, an different hot choice would have been available. The happy hour items were cut veggies, a nice selections of cheeses, crackers and something called cheeseballs. The hot food offered at happy hour did vary. Another odd occurrence we encountered while staying at the hotel was a male hotel employee entered the elevator we had just stepped into. He looked over at us and said with a straight face ...."Another day in paradise?" He didn't smile or ask any other questions. We were not sure how the remark was to be taken. The best reply we could think of was "Yes!, especially when your living in cold north! During our stay, we did take advantage of borrowing the beach chairs. This was a nice offering. They did not have beach umbrellas but they gave you beach towels and bottled water. The water pressure in our bathroom was awful! The water would actually stop mid steam on almost every use. I notified the front desk. Based on a tilted shower head upon reentering the room, we assumed someone came to investigate. Nothing changed though. We certainly appreciated our showers when we got home again! There are safes in the room but on the fourth floor you have to go to a common room to use a microwave. We were surprised to see a celebrity chef , Lidia Bastianich sitting in the lobby waiting for her breakfast guests. The hotel seemed busy with events our entire time there. Parking was never an issue. Collapse
