We have visited this hotel 8 times and it never fails to impress. The renovations were brilliantly done last year and the staff are as caring and attentive as ever. Be careful on your room allocation though as some views are better than others. The Executive Lounge is quieter than the main restaurant, although if you are after choice, the latter is better. We spent one dinner at Oceana and were blown away by the choice and quality. We had not visited Blue Elephant for some years and were equally impressed. If you are on a tighter budget, there are plenty of local restaurants nearby. There is so much choice on where to go during the day - despite people feeling the need to put their towels out early in the morning, there really is no need as there are always plenty of sun loungers, even in the middle of August. Even when things don't quite go right, and of course there are moments like this during the peak season in August, the staff are lightening quick to make sure everything is put right again. We couldn't ask for a better or more relaxing holiday! Collapse

We are the gold member of hhonors. We did get the ocean view room, which is scenic and fantastic. However, we did not get an upgraded executive room, which results in not getting the executive lounge access accordingly. We normally have the lounge access or free breakfast even though we are not assigned to an executive room. It must be ok because this is high season...but this is first time to come across this situation. Other than that, everything is sophisticated, everyone is so kind and service is awesome as usual. This is our 7 th return to this hotel and I'm sad to say it will be my last . I'm in my room that iv paid a lot of money for and the Hilton expect my son who is 16 and daughter who is 12 to share a bed OR get two rooms in the old Hilton per 2016 they had sofa beds or pull down beds not any more . Let me say the breakfast is amazing the staff can't do enough for you go and visit the omelette guys their great.Martin and the pool guys are the same nothing is too much trouble The can find a bed and umbrella from no where. The cleaning of my room this year has been awful left dirty cups I found dirty bedding when the sheets have been changed also a cockroach outside my room today that I asked a cleaner to remove . I'm gutted writing this but I think it has to be said . Tonight in the executive lounge it was like a playschool mums dropping kids off at tables with iPads so THEY can have a drink while the rest of us had to listen to them shouting and parents doing nothing then a child of 3 having a melt down and mum and dad doing nothing for 20 minutes while we had to listen at which time I left . staff have the guts to do something ,MALTA have a time thing kids under 10 have to be left by 7 and then the rest of us can Enjoy a quite drink with kids who can be social. The building in st Julian is awful the portamos cafe has gone when you leave the Hilton don't turn right any more Collapse

Both myself and husband (at the time, fiancé) , stayed at the Hilton from the 3rd until the 13th of August. From day 1 the service was exceptional. We were greeted with a welcome message and congratulations banner (we tied the knot on the 7th on the island) and each day we were presented with some present (sweets, biscuits etc). Staff were all friendly and welcoming. We took a particular liking to one of the room cleaners who greeted us each day and engaged in conversations with us about our holiday and wedding. We were even pleasantly surprised with how brilliantly we were dealt with when checking out. We had checked over our bill and discovered we had been charged for taking an item from the mini bar which we hadn't taken, we mentioned this to the receptionist and without questions he apologised and removed this from our bill. Small thing but it just goes to show the level of customer service. Staying at the Hilton made our holiday and wedding even more memorable! We will definitely try to stay again soon! Collapse

We have just arrived back to the UK after a lovely week in the glorious sunshine at the Hilton St Julian's. What really makes this hotel special is the staff. Always smiling and very helpful. We had a deluxe king room with a balcony and amazing view overlooking the marina. The rooms are spacious and we're cleaned well daily. As with all Hilton hotels the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. There is something for everyone. Lovely fresh fruit. Smoothies. Pancakes, waffles. Cooked food, lots of pastries etc Nazzareno the chef on the 'omelette station' deserves a special mention, greeting everyone with a big smile and had such a lovely welcoming manner about him. The only small negative was that the coffee from the pots wasn't very hot. The pots seemed to get made up at the start of breakfast at 7am so weren't hot by 8am when we got there. We had to asked for a new pot most mornings, but it was no trouble for the staff who happily obliged. The staff/servers were amazing. There was plenty of sun loungers around the pool. We opted for the quieter adult area. The pool was clean and one side overlooked the sea, so you can watch all the boats/ships. There are buttons on the parasols for waiter service for drinks and food. The cost of a pint of Carlsberg lager was €6.50, a Diet Coke €4.50 and a 750ml bottle of still water was €4.50. We however paid €25 to hire a small in room fridge and bought water and some soft drinks from the supermarket down the road, as with it being 33degrees It got quite expensive buying the hotels bottled water each day trying to keep hydrated! We have visited other hotels around the world where they have water fountains by the pool. This would have been welcomed here. We dined at the Oceana restaurant for the themed Surf and Turf evening buffet, €38 per person, which was nice. The snickers cake was the best part for me! It was a shame that some people arrived to dine in beach wear! We ate at the Blue Elephant Thai restaurant which has lush surroundings and lovely views over the marina. This was a delightful experience and we would most definitely recommend this restaurant. We got a starter and main course each, shared a dessert and had a beer, a bottle of water and a cocktail and it was €105 so not too expensive and the food was beautiful. It is advisable to book as it gets quite busy. We used the gym most days which is well equipped with both cardio equipment and weights and we attended three of the 7am spin classes, these are free to use for hotel guests which is great. Our personal preference was the Thursday spin session, a great workout and fast music which we prefer. The hotel is in a great location a few minutes walk away from the shops and plenty of restaurants. We walked into Sliema which takes about 40 minutes along the water front. We caught the ferry to Valetta €2.80 each return and spent a wonderful day there. It is a Beautiful place, with very long steep streets so make sure you wear comfy shoes! It was our first visit to Malta and we will definitely be back and will stay at the Hilton again. Collapse
