We came to LA for a quick weekend to go to a concert. The concert venue wasn't far from the hotel and being right by the airport with a shuttle was perfect. The shuttle drivers we had were so polite and friendly. The refused to let me lift anything! I don't know how they stay happy driving in that chaos of an airport all day! I was worried about the noise from the airport but it was NOT a problem at all. In fact, we had no trouble sleeping through the night. We were able to skip the check in line because we are HHonors members and Katie was super sweet! She was so professional and we loved the extra touch of receiving a text checking in on our stay while we were there. She gave us a great room and it was perfect! I worked hotel front desk in Las Vegas and it's not an easy job especially when it's a busy weekend! It's so refreshing to have helpful and pleasant staff to greet you and help make you relax. We read some harsh reviews on here and I am happy to say our experience was a very happy one. The bar was perfect for a few drinks before and after the concert. And the food was good, too! The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. We had the buffet for breakfast on our last day and the staff again couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. It's always a treat to feel welcome and that your presence matters. Our room was very clean and spacious! The bathroom is a bit small but who cares? It served it's purpose just fine and was clean. Overall, our room was great! Now, there were some renovations happening in the lobby but it was not a problem for guests. You still could get around just fine without problems. The new elevator system was confusing for some but since I've had experience with it in San Francisco, it didn't hurt to help confused guests and get a giggle out of it. Overall, they made a quick weekend getaway so enjoyable we plan to book another concert in November and stay here again! I hope our next visit is as awesome as this one has been! I am a Hilton Honors Diamond level member. The Hilton name has meant that I can expect a good night's sleep, as well as other amenities, should I need them. Suffice it to say, after this stay I am looking to use up my HHonors points and put the brand in my rear-view mirror. Here's why this is so. We arrived in LA after a long day of flying from Vladivostok. I had selected my room based on its apparent size and isolated (quiet) location. It was identified as a studio suite. I expected to find amenities appropriate to a suite at a Hilton. But, what I found was a B-stock room with a lot of empty space. The Guest Services manager informed me that this is how it was described. However, "suite" carries certain expectations of amenities beyond a standard room -- perhaps a sofa or a frig. No other suites were available for us to move to, so we settled in. Then, the noise started! Think pile-driver on a highway construction job -- loud hum, followed by what sounded like a heavy object being dropped (our floor actually shook). Being completely upside-down on our body clocks, we coped the first night -- maybe the noise stopped, not sure. On the second night, we were not so lucky. The noise (Huuuum, Crash) continued pretty much all night. This was one time I was thankful for my hearing loss. Guest Services did not seem to be aware that there was anything that might be disturbing guests. They offered to move us, but by now we were spread all over the room. So, we took our chances and lost. So, in a slee0-deprived state, we boarded our cross-country flight to home to Florida. Oh yeah, the room safe was in a dresser drawer that wouldn't stay shut -- i.e., "Look here! A safe!" Not sure that the drawer couldn't be lifted out for easy transport. Collapse

I bocked this hilton. But I had to cancel in the morning of my sate of arrival due to a flight delayed and no connection to lax in seattle. I phoned this hotel and the service was horrible despite that I am a diamond member since several years. They refused to cancel without charging the night. I had similar issues with sheraton and marriott for 2 and 4 years and they did not charged the room . So for me this incident means bye bye hilton I will for now not put my money to a company without any consideration to their guests. ... Collapse
