From check-in to check-out our stay was terrible. Issues included: 1) The card machine didn't work (on four of our accounts) and we were accused of not having the money to pay for the room. 2) They do not take card payments at the bar late at night (after being assured previously that they do). 3) The TV remote in the room didn't work. 4) The bath was dirty when we checked in (hairs everywhere) 5) We left for the day and when we came back neither of our door keys worked. 6) Dirty glasses were left in the room after it was "cleaned" 7) We sat at the carpark barrier for 5 minutes before having to exit our vehicle to go inside to tell them to open it. At which point, with no apology I was told "Go back outside and I'll open the exit barrier, go through that instead". 8) A member of staff left the front desk to make himself a coffee whilst I was waiting (I saw him walk around and go to the publicly visible coffee station). I had to wait for him to finish all of that and come back around before I could speak to him. 9) On check-out when speaking to the manager about all of this, I was offered £12 off (the cost of parking) and some points towards my business honors account (not acceptable as this was a personal stay). So, in summary, they will give you a dirty room which you can only sometimes get in to, terrible customer service, a TV that can't be used and then not charge you parking. I opted to pay for the parking as I thought it was completely unacceptable for the hotel to think free parking was an acceptable way to "Make it right" (the Hilton motto for problems) after all of the issues we experienced. I've stayed at Hilton hotels regularly for the last decade with work. Every single one has been good, except this one, which has by far been the worst hotel I have stayed at for my entire life. All was good until they accidentally checked me out and reallocated my room!

The hotel is what you would expect for this kind of hotel! Not the greatest of character but very clean and comfortable. The gym and pool were both very nice and the gym even had lots of classes (both virtual and with real instructors) that guests can take part in. The breakfast was very nice with lots of choice but I didn't eat there in the evening as the food looked really overpriced! My major issue me the reason I have scored it at 2 came the night before I was due to leave when I went up to my room to find a stranger walking into it! They had mistakenly checked me out early even though my booking was done online and reallocated my room to someone else - with all my stuff still in it! Luckily the guy seemed very honest and had just arrived there before me - it could have been a very different matter. Although they were very apologetic it took a while to sort out and all I was offered was a voucher for one drink which I thought was a bit pathetic considering a total stranger could have been going through my personal belongings. They really need to look at their procedures as surely the cleaners should have also picked up that someone was still in the room? Collapse
the worst experience ever in Hilton brand, dirty room, overcharged bill among others

I had a business meeting in the area Saturday morning, I chose to stay at the hotel instead of getting back home. On arrival I had asked for a paid upgrade to a suite, as per my commitment on the booking process-this was rejected for no obvious reason despite rooms being available as I had seen before and after the check in on the day. Despite being a diamond member I was given a standard room with loads of defects: dirty carpet, worn hardware, dust on the furniture, inefficient heating. I asked to be moved to the opposite wing the next day, luckily this was done with a bit of delay, again, no paid upgrade offered on confirmed availability!!! On check out my bill was overcharged with breakfast that I had the first morning, the amount was £16.75, fraudulent charge as a diamond member it is offered for free and more, breakfast on the boards at the lobby is advertised for just £12!! Also, looking at the bill, there must had been also another double charge regarding a beverage on the 1st dinner for £3,75. After seeing my bill more carefully at home, I emailed firstname.lastname@example.org on the matter, no reply so far, 24 hours later. The personnel at the reception rather unaware of the policies or doing things deliberately. Certainly unworthy to stay again. Collapse

the hotel started to look a bit dated. As i travelled to Leicester it didn't make sense to stay far away for a night. Location is close to M1/M69 and Near out of town shopping retail park. Room were reasonable size, quiet - probably not many guests but corridor noises were transmitted to room easily. Bathroom is ok. Sink is outside the bathroom. Hooks were broken in the room. Overall cheap 4 star (really) hotel. Breakfast selection was good. Staffs were helpful. Collapse
