We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights in February 2018. I still have difficulty believing that in 2018 a hotel would try and charge 15 pounds for 24 hour access to the internet (That's over US$20). £15 ??? We were visiting from Asia, and neither of us had a UK SIM, so we were dependent on wifi, which wasn't a problem until this hotel. The hotel was okay. The furnishings were older than the internet policy, with the bathroom ware cracked / chipped. Whilst the hotel is centrally located, it's in an odd location, tucked in a lane off the motorway feeder road. It's central, but not that convenient, if that makes sense, especially on a cold winter's night. One elevator out of three was out of action during our stay, and combined with heavy usage due to a function on Level 3 meant a long wait sometimes. Okay, I'm grumbling a bit, mainly because of the absurd internet charge. The hotel is comfortable and offers good amenities, but in my view there are many other nearby alternative hotels worth considering before this Hilton. Collapse

We were attending the Kings Theatre and normally stay at a cheaper chain Hotel very near the theatre and railway station. However I was celebrating a belated birthday and decided to look at this hotel. I joined the Hilton Honors and got an excellent rate for a Queen style room on the 17 floor and we were happy with this. Warm, clean and comfortable with a lovely comfy bed. Yes bar and mini bar prices are expensive but I assume comparative with other nearby hotels. £18 for 2 vodka and a can of coke but new that before husband poured. I also booked the 3 course Standby Dinner which was a bit disappointing at £17 pp. Choice of 3 mains, I had the chicken pieces with an Indian type dressing which was quite dry and chewy. Husband opted for the Risotto which certainly didn't look appetising. Very stodgy he said and only ate half. May have been due to the fact that we were first in as the restaurant opened at 5.30pm but we were going out early. Came back in at 10.30 and decided to take a drink up to our room. Really cant understand why bar staff have to fill a large glass nearly full of ice when its freezing outside. Had to ask him to remove half the ice which probably also meant half my drink. Wouldn't have known if I had any alcohol in my drink or not. We had a good nights sleep and had coffee and shortbread in the morning. Didn't bother with breakfast. We did enjoy our overnight stay and would possibly stay here again. We used taxis to get back and fore as it was cold and dark. Taxi rank directly outside Also Reception staff should inform guests that the lifts only work by using your room key card. Half a dozen of us going nowhere till the concierge saw us and came to show us how to move of level 2. Only real negative from My point of view is the fact it seems a bit of a long walk to get to the shopping centres. We are older 70+++ and prefer to be more central to the things we are attending. We were greeted by our server for the evening Lazarus, a friendly and helpful young man hailing from the Mediterranean country of Greece. Lazarus joyfully guided us through the menu and took care to make our evening meal was one that we would be sure to enjoy. The warm buoyant atmosphere within the restaurant and the friendly and knowledgeable staff enhanced a relatively small - but well composed menu and we then selected our food. Since the restaurant was being visited at 'peak dining' time we orderd our food and expected to wait quite a while for our food to be served, but no, our selected food arrived well before we thought about enquiring on when our food would be served to us. Our food arrived and we were all pleasantly surprised to begazing into plates with healthy sized potrions on them - all looking lipsmackingly tasty, warm and inviting. Our food was delicious, although one of our party had ordered a ish with prawns in it and one which we felt should have had some lemon slices include - just to sharpen up the flavours of the 'seafood based' dish - which is why I have given the rating that I have given, other than that the food was very tasty. Our server for the evening Lazarus did a great job in ensuring we were not neglected, and fulfilled his role admirabley. 'Well Done' Lazarus. Collapse

A first class hotel. I decided to pay the extra for an Executive Suite which was well worthwhile. The room had a Large panoramic window and view across the City and hills in the distance. Breakfast had an excellent choice with Chefs on hand to meet your needs. Dinner was also up to the same standard. The Executive Lounge was available to relax in with Tea, Coffee and juices plus in the evening Drinks and canapes. The staff were all very attentive and helpful. A very pleasant and relaxing stay.
