We only stayed one night at this property and wished we'd stayed longer. Great hotel and Key West is amazing. Great service, comfortable beds and great guest amenities. We enjoyed the pool area on a gorgeous day. It isn't near the tourist area which we like but I know some people like to be at the centre of all the action. There are shops (like Publix) close by. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Key West at the end of April. Needed to get out of Boston and into the sun. Overall, the hotel was nice, but in comparison to other places we have stayed, it wasn't our favorite. The good: The bed was comfortable, and in some ways I liked being near the pool (our room faced the pool entryway). We were able to slip out and have some Pina Coladas at the pool bar, which was pleasant and not a hassle because it was right there. Don't expect the pool to cool you off, though. I dipped a toe in and it felt HOT! The bad: They have a ridiculous "barn door" set-up to the bathroom that was not fun. My husband, being Mr. Fixit, was able to get the door, which was off it's track, back on, so it became slightly easier to close. Unfortunately, it worked a little too well so that if the door was pulled too far we were locked in the bathroom because we couldn't open it up again. One of us had to rescue the other at times. Eventually we left a crack that we could get our fingers around. This set-up should be done-away with. Also, the sofa in the room was very uncomfortable - but this seems to be true of the two Hiltons we have stayed at. In both cases the sofas seemed to be made of very cheap material that had no give. In addition, the noise in the room could be too much. Traffic noise could be heard easily, and whenever anyone rumbled by with their suitcase roller, or talked outside we were front and center to the noise. Surprisingly, the pool was not noisy - that was what I was worried about initially, but that was not a problem. But, there is more good: There is a bus that runs every hour during the day and half hour in the evenings so you can get downtown and back easily. That was an excellent benefit for us as we didn't have to pay for it because it came as bonus to our room rate. I don't know what the usual fare would be. We also had a reasonably good breakfast on the one morning we ate there and a reasonably good dinner at the bar one night when we were too tired to go out. It's nice that there is a bar at the hotel that serves food late. The bar tender was very friendly as well and we had a nice conversation with her. The hotel was less expensive than the ones downtown, and I can't imagine the noise that would accompany some of the B&Bs in the main areas of Key West. It's out of the way to have to go back and forth (and we tried not to do so), but it felt good to leave the party and come back to our room. That being said, I might try a pricier hotel on a quieter side of town if I were to return to Key West, just because it would be nice to walk to downtown restaurants directly from our hotel (there were a couple of restaurants near the hotel the we went to that were OK for when we were too tired to go back downtown after a day on a boat, for example. I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, while visiting Key West. The hotel is immediately in front of you as you arrive onto key west. The hotel as an ultra modern brand new feel to it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and got us checked in rapidly and to our room. There is loads of parking around the rear, so you can park close to your room. The pool area is very nice, with a great bar and also has live music. The hotel is a little out of town, so a taxi is required to hit down town Key West. there was plenty of ubers around though. The room was quite spacious, and modern but I feel were far to expensive, ($326 a night.) But I guess it was March and Spring Break season. Collapse
