Really disappointed in our experience with this hotel. I knew I made a mistake booking this hotel when we walked into the lobby. The line to check in was 7 people deep with only one person managing check ins. After 20 minutes in line we were told the room wouldnt be ready for at least another hour( it was already an hour late). After waiting 20 minutes with two kids melting down in the lobby we pulled the plug and moved our rez to the Conrad. My trip began when we pulled up about 11 pm on Valentine’s Day and waited for valet to come help us out. They were busy at that time and you immediately got the feeling that there wasn’t enough help. Valet was scrambling. A nice bell guy, tall, lanky but very nice fetched our bags. Checking in was a process as the room I asked for wasn’t available. I actually went to look the the room before I tricked my wife and 2 kids up and the Ocean view wasn’t much of an ocean view. The only way to see a glimpse of the ocean was to walk out on the patio on the 6th floor and open the gate and walk to the edge of the building to catch a glimpse. So no oceanfront. A very big let down that I paid for. The next problem came when I ask for linens and pillows for my kids for the pullout couch. What a debacle. I asked the bell guy and he said they’d be sent right up. Nothing. I called the front desk, no answer. I walked down and spoke with a manager, who was nice but confused. He reassured me I’d have my pillows and linens. They arrived about a half hour later. Bad. Especially with a 3 and 5 yr old asleep in a stroller. There was a sense that this hotel was short staffed. That was my immediate impression. The hotel was nice. The pool was lovely if you could get a beach chair. After hanging at the pool all day we went to order room service and asked for sushi and was told that “they just ran out”. But disappointed as it was 615 pm and my wife was looking forward to sushi. The steak I ordered for $27 was pathetic and tiny. Absolutely unacceptable. There was a nice lounge on the 6th floor I frequented at nite a few tumes. I saw some type of sushi on the menu and was informed that the hotel no longer served sushi?? It was explained that the pulled sushi all together and decided to not print new menus. The bigger issue is they lied about it. I ask d for a certain bottle of alcohol and it’s popular and they didn’t have it. I said that’s strange. The person working explained that there was a lot of strange things going on in the hotel. I had the advantage of talking to one of the servers in one of the restaurants and finally got the low down. Even she was slow and overwhelmed but nice to the kids. She explained to me that the hotel was under new management in an attempt to save money. And that the place was a house of cards falling down. I can corroborate this as I noticed housekeeping people high fiving and congratulating and employee was their last day on Friday. Calling them lucky and wishing they were leaving also. Odd. This resort was nice. I saw many managers who weren’t extremely geared for great customer service. It was probably because many of them were working positions even in the coffee shop. There were some great employees, the tall bell guy, bartender Karla, a sweet girl in the gift shop. Too bad as I was looking for a new regular resort and really liked Ft Lauderdale. I am loyal to the brand and for many years was a diamond member (Not anymore so nobody cares) and I am a Hilton Grand Vacation Club Member. The place fell short. Sad thing is the reviews and rankings were good when I was shopping. According to an employee the resort was staffed and wowing people as of a month or so ago. It changed on a dime. And that they are losing good, tenured people everyday. Sad to hear. But this experience fell so short of Hilton’s standards and I wouldn’t return. Collapse

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely beach resort. Had an excellent reception at the front desk (so sorry that I don't remember his name). He ensured that - although I'd booked two nights with separate reservations, one with points & one with $$ - we wouldn't have to move rooms. He put us in a corner suite (with complete kitchen) with a wrap-around balcony with lovely views of the city and the beach. The hotel was fabulous. Great work-out room and lovely, huge pool. No problems with anything in our room and wi-fi worked well. Excellent location, walkable to many fine restaurants and sights. We had such a nice time, we regretted that we weren't staying longer! Highly recommended! Collapse

Dylan at the front desk was great!!!! Personable, helpful and efficient. The bell hops called a car service for us at the end of our trip. The hotel had sun block available at the pool if you forgot the block. The restaurant was nice. We shared dishes with 6 people, got to taste a little bit of a lot of dishes. My only negative comment. The internet service was TERRIBLE. but since I was on vacation, not too much of a problem. If this had been a working vacation it would have been a big issue. Collapse
