We recently booked a stay & car park offer. All was exceptionally well organised. On arrival we parked the car & then checked in to Reception. Staff were most helpful & friendly. We booked transport to the airport & an alarm call, both of which happened right on time. We had a snack in the Restaurant which was very tasty & pleasantly served. Our room was very comfortable & clean & the shower was extremely efficient with plenty of warm water. Just great after a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed.. We arrived at the airport in good time to get checked in & await our flight. On return their driver found us before we had chance to ring so we were driven back to collect our car straight away. Excellent service from start to finish. Collapse

We had our National Awards evening here on Saturday 10th February. The staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. We had a family room 2 adults & 2 children, there was plenty of space. I especially loved the bar of chocolate left for each child on their beds with their own towel and toiletries. We were given complimentary dressing gowns and slippers which was a fab idea when visiting the spa. The beds were so comfortable as were the pillows. I really felt like I was at home. I attended a function with just short of 100 people. Food was excellent and the service was on point. The spa was adequate, if I was to be really picky it could do with a facelift. The decor in the rest of the hotel was very fitting, modern and luxurious. This hotel is 4 star but I’d say more like a 5 star. Breakfast was a buffet with a excellent selection. They cooked eggs while you wait however you wanted them. What sells this hotel has to be the staff, everyone I met couldn’t have been more helpful. Well done Hilton East Midlands Airport. We will be back Collapse

Visited here whilst on business. Got upgraded to a lovely 4th floor room which was nice. Made use of the gym which has a good sized pool and 2 separate gyms, one with mainly weights and one with aerobic equipment. Had 2 courses for dinner in the bar. Finished starter and then waited over 30 minutes for the main course. I enquired after 20 minutes and was told it would be 1 minute but had to enquire again after a further 10 minutes. It was 10:30 by the time I got my main. Not great, I was offered a complimentary drink which was nice of them but I was needing to get to bed so it wasn't much use. Collapse
Disappointing on too many measures

Firstly, I must say that the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. However, there were too many things to be disappointed and frustrated about to score higher than 2. Admittedly some of them were beyond the hotels control. I might perhaps score this a 4 or 5 if it were not for these things: 1) Worst restaurant I have ever been to in any brand of Hilton anywhere in the world and I'm a gold member. You could get a meal with the same poor quality ingredients at less than half the price in any local pub. I don't mind paying for the convenience and a good quality meal but this was shocking and expensive. Literally the most disappointing meal I have had in years. On top of that they automatically add a service charge to your bill, so you don’t even have the digression to not leave a tip. I have never had that in any hotel restaurant anywhere in the world. It’s a major surprise to me that Hilton would associate themselves with such unethical behaviour and poor standards. 2) My deluxe room had no windows, just 2 skylights, which in order to open the blinds, I needed to climb on furniture and use one of the coat hangers. That was a shame because otherwise it was a great room. 3) Traffic chaos (I know one can't blame the hotel for that). I spent 1 hour per day sat in traffic queues. It would have been quicker to park my car 2 miles away and then walk to and from that every morning and evening. If you look on google maps, the slip road from the M1 to the A50 roundabout does not exist. From the south you need the M1 exit that says A453 and won’t say A50, A50 being the road which the hotel is on. If you need to cross the M1 to get the A6 or A453, or go north or south on the M1 from junction 24 then don't stay here unless you want to add at least 30 minutes to every journey. TIP: Find a hotel where you don't need to cross the M1 or go on the roundabout on junction 24 to get to work. I would be quite willing to give this hotel another try after the roadworks are completed at the end of 2018 and forearmed with the knowledge that the restaurant is useless and I need to go out for dinner every night and in addition check the room has windows, otherwise it’s called a cell isn’t it. After that diatribe its only fair to mention that the breakfast is excellent and the gym, pool and facilities are very good. The rooms were a very good standard, as long as they have windows of course. Collapse

Christmas Lunch again at the Hilton was very enjoyable! For the second Christmas running my mother and I had our Christmas lunch here and it was absolutely lovely. Here are a few hits and misses of the day. The parking was stressfree and plenty of spaces available . On arrival I must admit that I was a little disappointed at having to wander around to find someone as there were no clear signs indicating where to go etc.. but no biggie there.. The dining area was tastefully decorated and the table was set beautifully. The starters were disappointing and nothing like as varied as last year. There was no smoked salmon which we would have enjoyed.. The main was lovely, although the carrots were a little on the crunchy side the chef made up for this by remembering my mother asking for some bread sauce when she booked!! How fabulous he remembered and sent it out on a little server just for my mum who was delighted!! The deserts were very good and thoroughly enjoyed by us both. The thing that impressed me so much was the staff. THEY WERE FANTASTIC! and made my mum feel so special and spoilt with their attention and it made any minor grumbles pale into insignificance to be honest! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE for Christmas lunch without a worry of being embarrassed. This venue was perfect for us and a lovely treat for my mother who has spent all of her younger Christmas's spoiling every one else, so she really deserves the best. THANK YOU HILTON FOR A LOVELY LUNCHEON, AND FOR SPOILING US. SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR XX Collapse
