Tripadvisor people - You can read my other reviews about this hotel, but right now we are hosting a group of family in 8 rooms at the hotel for our son's graduation from the University of Miami. The hotel comes down to a few things: Location is great - on the beach ( Hangout at the bar, look at the water and you'll understand), near enough to SOBE, airport, North Miami Beach, etc. Building is clean - remodeled about 4.5 years ago, I see the staff works to maintain it well everyday. People - This list can go on, but people like Stephanie, Ezgy and Brian at the front desk. They are professional, understanding and helpful. Also Luciana, Nicole and Amanda at the bar. We are happy to made friends here over our multiple visits in the past 4+ years. Nice job HCMB! Collapse
Great ocean views

We had a great time on the beach in Miami. The location was great and so were the amenities. The extra touch of a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolate cake was amazing. We were there for my wife's birthday and appreciated the extra touch.

I don't know where to begin regarding the horrible service and experience at this hotel. It's hard to believe it's a Hilton branded hotel but here you go: The first contact I had upon arrival was with the valet staff($40 a day to park and there are no street parking) as I got out I shared with the male rep that I had the emergency brakes on ( automatic transmission but the entry is on an extremely small and steep ramp) his response was "I know what I am doing" I quickly responded I'm just letting you know. As we proceeded to check in (at 4:15pm) we were called to the counter by Oscar. We stood there for about 10 minutes while he communicate to another staff on the walkie talkie and while he typed on the computer. What I discovered he was doing was selecting a room for another guest upon completion he gave those room keys to an employee who rushed out to the pool area. Now he focused his attention on us. It's 4:24pm and he started to look he has no rooms available or cleaned for us to check in. Granted 4pm is check in. We weren't asking for early check in. He kept looking and looking to no avail there weren't any rooms. I immediate expressed my dissatifaction as we booked 2 rooms because we were celebrating my in laws 39 wedding anniversary. I told him in preparation before our arrival I called 3 or 4 days before and speak with someone at the hotel who looked up the 2 reservations to confirm we had reservations. It was on that call when I found out things that contradicted my reservation offer. (Travelzoo remedy their error prior to our arrival.) He apologized and suggested that we wait at the terrace bar area located near the pool. He also offered us 2 drink tickets per room and $25 off a meal at the lobby restaurant. We had no other choice, we drove 4 hours and did not have a plan B. So we reluctantly accepted the offer and proceeded to wait by the pool. WE HAD TO WAIT 2 HOURS!!!!! Oscar said it would be about an hour so a hour in I go to the counter and he said 1 room is almost ready I am waiting on house keeping supervisor to check for cleanliness but the other room is 50% done. So we waited the additional hour. Once we got into our rooms. The rooms looked nice but they were dirty. Flood splatter on the walls near the TV, the floor wasn't vacuum because there were food crumbs and trash on the floor and there were enough dust on the night stand that it was visibly obvious no dusting took place ever. We noticed we did not have our luggage in our rooms so I went downstairs to asked about our luggage Oscar wasn't there but there was a Michael. I simply asked that our luggage isn't in our room and we don't know where they are. He opted not to speak to me nor bless my with eye contact and just pointed to the BellHop counter. I go over and asked about our lauggage. The rep requested our luggage ticket and I responded we were never given luggage tickets. So he escorted me to a room that stored guests' luggage and I searched for our luggage. Little known facts to be cautious of: 1. Glass of wine on terrace is $15 a glass 2. Breakfast buffet menu says $20 for American buffet when actually its $25. You would think they would update their menu and not false advertise. 3. They do not give you a receipt after your breakfast. Ask for one to confirm you are not being over charged. 4. Gratuity of 18% is automatically added to your bill At check out, we were double billed per day for parking. So the billed reflected $160 for valet rather than just $80. We were also over charged for the buffer breakfast. Since we got a discount the bill should have reflected $120 at the restaurant but instead it reflects $158. So I have to call them today to resolve that issue. Collapse
