This is one of the best Hiltons we have ever stayed in. Highly recommend for a special occasion. We were there for two nights to celebrate my husbands birthday and the staff could not have made us feel more special. Not only did we arrive back on his birthday to find a bottle of fizz and a beautiful cake in our room, Edgar the highly charismatic and lovely chef treated us to a stack of fresh and beautifully decorated pancakes with fizz and a sparkle fountain candle embedded in chocolate at breakfast. Now and again you visit a place and you see a whole team of staff who have customer care embedded right across the team. The staff are the hotels biggest asset and every single person treated us with welcoming, kindness and care. A truly excellent team. And when we were greeted by the hotels manager it became clear why. What a fantastic guy! Like many men in their late 50s, my husband was very keen to see the John and Yoko bed in for peace room. When we speculatively made our way along the corridor and met some staff we asked if we could see it. Turned out the room was being prepared for a visit by the media and the General Manager greeted us and personally took us to the room and gave us a tour with some great stories. Great teams always have great leaders and that is what this hotel has. I could go in endlessly about the great stuff in the hotel - the Executive Lounge is beautiful with interesting evening canapés, plentiful drinks (beer, wine and fizz available from 6-9 and sprints from 6-8). The terrace bar sits on the canal with beautiful views. Our room had a canal view (well worth the extra 30€) and the area itself is graceful and elegant with really fantastic restaurants. If you want quality, style, grace and great service rather than the hoards of tourists in the centre of the city, this is the place for you. We truly can not wait to return. Collapse

Right on the Dam Square, Double Tree Hilton is wonderful in terms of location. The rooms facing the canals definitely have the better view... I got the one facing the other rooms though! And with the windows being see through you are forced to keep the curtains drawn if you are in your room. Luckily I spent most of my time outside! The breakfast is great - being part of long stay at other hotels I was getting extremely wary of the same spread that gets dished out at most similar range hotels - at Double Tree Hilton you had the choice! From American breakfast to sushi - the spread was very good indeed. Pleasant stuff and great location - recommended, definitely. Loads of eateries around as well as a Starbucks which is connected to the hotel. Collapse

The restaurant was good for breakfast, poor value for dinner...extreme prices, low food quality, very low value. Recommend going out to dinner...many local restaurants of high value with a short walk. Collapse

Hilton Amsterdam, as soon as you walk in those doors, you know it is going to be great. It's Hilton, one of the best chains in the world. When I stepped in the hotel, I was welcomed by a doorman, who is freshly groomed and very friendly. The check in didn't really take long and I was escorted to my room. My room have the view of the lake and it is definitely breathtaking just to look at it. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. I am definitely a person who rarely eats breakfasts, but i recommend you all to eat Hilton Amsterdam's breakfast. From the hot cinnamon buns to freshly squeezed orange juice. Hilton Amsterdam definitely made my dream vacation come true. Collapse
