We have just got home from 18 night at Christian Sur. We were apprehensive after reading other Trip Adviser reviews. So..... We were pleasantly surprised. The 2 bed duplex apartment was the perfect (big) size for my husband and I and our 3 kids. The sofa had a bed within it that we could move to the bedroom on the main floor so all 3 kids were in there keeping the lounge clear. The stairs were quite rickety but they were fine for my husband and I. The management have safety notices re watching kids on them and taking care. They were much better than expected. We had 2 balconies. One on the main floor off the lounge overlooked the road with mountain views, was nice to sit out on. There was entertainment until about 11.30 at the hotel & restaurants opposite but once we closed the doors we couldn't hear it. The second balcony was on the opposite side overlooking internal complex paths and we had those doors open all night, every night, with no noise disturbance. There is a cafe on site. Good variety of food, reasonable prices. Just off site there is a grocery store that makes freshly cooked baguettes up for €2.50 fresh, they are great and we had them most days for lunch. Pools..... If you desperately want a parasol and a specific spot around one of the 2 pools you need to be waiting by 8am in the spot you want, the staff then open the locks on the beds at 9am. If you are not bothered where you sit you can nip down about 8.45 and grab a couple of beds wherever is left. A bit annoying, but to be expected. Takes about 10 minutes to walk to christianos beach, 15-20min to las vistas (better beach). Also worth noting is we had cleaners in every day except Sunday's which was fab. Good to know if you have a late flight home, there is a room to shower and store luggage etc. Finally, the complex is very well maintained (gardens, pool area, cleaning of rooms) rooms are somewhat dated, but spacious. It is rated a 3 star complex - I would say this is correct, it is clean, cheap and cheerful. An excellent base to enjoy the area. NOTE: we enjoy eating at different restaurants, beach days, trips outs. We did not spend 19 days on site, it was a base to sleep at, I think we had 7/8 pool days, we spent time at 4 local beaches, a friends pool, walking, mini golf etc. We ate in the onsite restaurant for breakfast once, lunch twice and evening meal once. I would advise (if you want a one stop holiday) to choose somewhere with a full on restaurant and entertainment programme and bigger pool if you do not want to leave the complex when you go away. We would return to this complex. Collapse

We have just returned from a 2 week family holiday here . We booked through jet2holidays and could have been placed at either Tenerife or Cristian sur . We stayed in apartment 51 and our balcony overlooked the main road right on top of the 24hr mini-market this was no real problem only a slight noise at night . The kitchen consists of a fridge/ tiny freezer , oven , 4 ring hob , sink , crockery, plates etc .... the main problem was the beds !!!!! I have never slept in a bed so hard ( this is just a personal opinion some people like hard mattresses) .The room has no air con which is something they really could do with having since temperatures were in the 90s. You can hire a fan (in hindsight we should have done this) but they were only little desk sized fan which in order to have any affect you need about 3-5 in each room because it really was very very warm and humid. The pool area was very nice , there was the usual problem with sun beds people waiting from 8:30 am for them when they don't get unlocked till 9:30 am reserving sun beds then not using them all day . Not having sun beds wasn't really an issue for us though as we found the grass next to the pool very spongy and comfy to lie on ( in my opinion better than the beds ). Los Cristianos beach is about 15 mins away ( easier to walk to than home from as your walking uphill ) however I recommend walking for an extra 2 mins to las vistas beach , we found this beach a lot nicer . The sand at the beach is very very hot almost impossible to walk on so flip flops are a must . There is a taxi rank right across the road out side Tenerife sur . Once you get onto the front next to the beach you can walk right along up to las Americas which is worth visiting. The 2 main issues I have towards Tenerife as a island is EVERYONE smokes , which as a none smoker with an asthmatic daughter this proved very difficult to avoid also every where you go your Pestered to death to go into every restaurant which became slightly annoying! All in all we have a lovely holiday and would return!! Collapse

We've just returned from a 2 week holiday at Cristian sur and you do get what you pay for . We arrived and the Room was expected and over looking one of the two pools . The complex is clean , tidy and well maintained . The complex is in a very good position in los cristianos , with many bars , restaraunts and supermarkets near by . A lot of the Apartments are privately owned and can be rented at Atlantic Horrizons on the complex .The only thing I can really complain about is the sun beds at the pool , unless you were down before 9 you couldn't get a bed . Some people went down at 7 oclock to reserve the beds , which were Locked up Till 9 . A sign at the pool says you cannot reserve beds otherwise your towels would be removed , didn't happen . The complex need to inforce this rule to stop this happening , if nobody uses the beds for 1 hr they should removed the towels .. Collapse
Basic but clean.

Nice complex. 2 pools. Bar/restaurant. 24 hrs supermarket. 10/15 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to restaurants. Bar staff exceptionally friendly. Could do with just a few more sun loungers. Place was spotlessly clean. recommended

Really lovely apartments in great location only problem we had was getting a lounger by the pool. People would be queing up half an hour before they were unlocked and then god help you if you set yours up in someone else's spot. Was a very very large family there probably 5 or 6 apartments of them and we did feel quite intimidated by them . Not nasty but obviously been coming for years and rule the roost if you get my meaning. Collapse
