Hatherley Manor is an elegant 17th century manor house, nestling in 37 acres of its own grounds on the edge of the Cotswolds, centrally located between Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury just 3 miles from the M5 motorway. Following major refurbishment, this formerly moated residence provides all the comfort and luxury expected of a modern county house whilst retaining its historic heritage and charm. The manor has 50 newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms including executive rooms, suites and four-poster bedrooms, all of which are non-smoking. The Dewinton Restaurant with its oak beams and appealing décor is a delightful dining room with a vast menu of interesting and tasty dishes. The gardens and fields lend themselves to outdoor pursuits and there is a 9 and 18 hole golf course just 1 mile away (discounted green fees for hotel guests are available.) I stayed here with my girlfriend for her birthday. We booked the hotel which was quick and easy to do online. Upon arrival we checked in with ease and found the room we were staying in was the Bridal Suite (very lucky). This room is lovely. Huge in-fact, with 2 sofas and a large bed and lots of space it is almost the perfect room. The bathroom is clean and also large with a jetted bath and rainfall shower, the room was decorated with flowers and for £5 extra we were able to lay rose petals on the bed. On the phone the staff (Vicky) were very helpful in helping cater to our requests and Lauren was also very helpful in clearing up some queries I had with check in via email! The breakfast options were very limited but there was a small continental breakfast buffet. The spa in the hotel was 10/10 and I’d say was one of the perks of the hotel. Overall this is a beautiful country manor with lovely views from the window able to see Gloucester Cathedral and the front lawn. I would definitely return to the hotel Collapse

Took my partner here, for a spa break as birthday gift. The hotel grounds are pretty, as is the entrance and bar area inside. The room was small for an upgrade, but pleasant, all very clean apart from a dirty wine glass left on the table. (No problem to us when the rest of the room was so clean). We ate in the restaurant in the evening, the food was rather delicious! We LOVED it! The spa was absolutely amazing, and my treatment from Lizzie was one of the best I have ever had. I recommend making a visit to the spa during your stay, whether just to use to facilities and/or have a treatment. The only thing that let the hotel down a bit was the reception staff, they were very unhelpful on check-in and just missed the little things - didn't even ask how our stay was on check out. Also, part of my package was a prosecco on arrival, we did not receive any, and when questioned I felt the receptionist was a bit rude about it and made out I was lying to get another freebie. However, I would come back to the hotel and spa and would recommend. Collapse

My husband and I have just returned from spending 3 nights in this hotel to celebrate our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. The Hotel is in an excellent location for visiting the Cotswolds, Welsh Borders, Cheltenham & Gloucester. We opted for a Basic Room which was very compact compared with other 4* hotel rooms we have stayed in where we have also opted for a basic room. The Room did have a bit of a tired feel to it with the painted furniture chipped in several places. The bathroom was very clean with the decor being in keeping with the period feel of the main hotel. The mattress on the bed really needed replacing - again compared with other 4* hotels we have stayed in. Also we had issues with the heating in our room and when we raised this with the hotel reception we were advised that as it was now summer the room heating did not come on until 6.00 pm however as we were cold they could rectify this and they did so immediately. Also the hot water in the shower was only just about hot enough - even when the thermostat was turned up to 50 degrees C! We had a Bed and Breakfast package (no Spa access included - additional cost £25 per person per day- this was ambiguous on the hotel website with the per day being omitted...) Breakfast on the first day was a hot and cold buffet with there being sufficient choice although not as much choice as we expected. Waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. On the other 2 days the cold choices were buffet and any hot choices being ordered separately with a supplement for a couple of items. This worked well as this method allowed for more choice than was offered in the hot buffet. We opted to have a dinner in the hotel on the 2nd evening and this was excellent. The food was first class and the service very good. Overall our stay at the hotel was ok but the hotel lacked any 'wow' factor. Collapse

We had a great Easter bank holiday stay at Hatherley Manor Hotel. All the staff were lovely and couldn't have been more accommodating to me, my husband and our little dachshund. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and even set up a private little table for us in the lobby outside the restaurant, so we could have breakfast with our puppy.... Many of the reviews on here seem to have a big issue with the size of the rooms. We didn't go there to stay in our rooms, we went for long walks, had a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant, enjoyed a wonderful massage. The spa is lovely and there is a small but great terrace to catch some rays. Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side, but they are perfectly set out, clean and comfortable. The vibe of the place was lovely with a huge green area to enjoy at the front, you could have afternoon tea or simply sit with a drink and a book. We intend on returning, thank you to everyone at the Hotel! Collapse

Nice. Had a private room. Ok. Pool could of been cheaper. Food made me throw up. Kids menu great. Old half of building looks unsafe. I would say its an ok place to stay. But ive stayed in many better hotels.
