I had the Privacy sign on my door and at 4:30PM my partner removed the sign from the door and he called Guest service asking for the room to be cleaned and the bed sheets to be changed. When I went back to the room, the bed was stripped, pillows and duvet left on the chair and all towels were thrown on the bathroom floor - see pictures. It took me THREE phone calls to Guest Services and one to Hilton Honors to have a houseman coming to the room to make the bed since there is no housekeepers after 5PM. Houseman initially acted surprised when I asked him to make the bed, but then hi did himself after I asked him if he expected me to make the bed. There is no manager on duty in the evenings/overnight. I had to address the issue with 5 different people and all of them tried to blame on me for having the Privacy sign on the door, with a Guest Service Agent hanging up on me when I asked them to put a rush on the linen/towel delivery so I could get ready for dinner appointment. Only after I sent the pictures I posted here proving that someone went to the room and did not finished cleaning it, they comped my last night. It seems the management in this hotel makes decision based on what the staff says, not listening to guests. If management had asked Housekeeping who stripped the room or if they did a key log interrogation to see who went to the room and did not finish the task of cleaning it, they would have not accused me of having the Privacy sign on the door when I had not. OR, if the Guest Service agents had told us that 4:30 PM is too late to have the room cleaned, I would be okay with them delivering fresh towels. It is all about proper management. The line staff just copies what the manager says. Hilton corporate should check that hotel. I had better services in hostels when I was younger than in this hotel. Lastly, the manager agreed on refunding me for last night saying it was a courtesy, I am sorry to inform you that the refund for the last night is NOT a courtesy. It is for the lack of service from your staff and for your poor management skills. Collapse

The online hotel description fails to mention that there is extraordinarily heavy traffic from the Holland Tunnel around this hotel. Your car service will drop you off with your luggage 4 blocks from the hotel. The noise in the rooms is unremittingly loud from the extraordinarily heavy traffic surrounding the hotel from the Holland Tunnel. No management is on duty after 8 p.m. and staff is uninterested and unwilling to assist resolving issues. This is a very old hotel that is seedy and you will need to speak to someone with knowledge and authority to resolve issues and our experience is that no one with those attributes works at this hotel. If they told the truth about this hotel, no one would likely stay here. Most importantly, the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee will not be honored. We were charged to change to a different hotel in the Hilton family. Stay at your own risk!!! Collapse

Great location and great value. Excellent neighborhood. I Would definitely recommend and stay again. I chose this location because of value and neighborhood offerings. Very close to subway. Super easy to get around. Rooms are huge by NYC standards.

This Hampton Inn greets you almost immediately as you emerge from the Holland Tunnel. Call the front desk before you travel to get the name of the parking garage they use--it's around the corner and offers a reduced rate with your stamped ticket. (If you get in earlier than check-in, Hampton Inn will hold your bags.) Also very easy to get back into the tunnel from this garage. You're a block away from the 1 line as well, which runs up the west side of Manhattan, and not too far from lines that will take you up the east side. The hotel: the room we had was compact but clean; bed was a little soft. Bathroom tiny but clean and the shower was powerful. It's SoHo so you won't be spending a lot of time in the room anyway, right? Complimentary breakfast was really good--fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles, ham and cheese eggs, home fries, sausage, pastries, coffee, tea. Finally, every staff member we interacted with was friendly, polite, and professional. The lobby is small and it fills up quickly upon check in/check out, but they handled the crowd with ease and efficiency. Collapse
