I would advise against staying here. My partner and I booked 2 nights here as we were visiting Sheffield for a friends wedding. When we booked online months in advance we were contacted via email the same day to advise there was a problem with our card and requesting payment details to redo the booking. We gave the same card details, slightly confused as to why it hadn't gone through initially. When we arrived at the hotel months later we were told we had made two bookings and paid for them (we checked our bank and realised we had been charged twice). Anyway we were told to email reservations, reception staff were dismissive and sceptical that there was an error and reiterated that the room was non-refundable. We were gobsmacked as our account had essentially been fraudulently debited by the reservations team. We checked into our one room thinking the issue would be resolved but despite emails and calls to the hotel nobody has contacted us or refunded us yet, we continue to be palmed off. The whole situation is totally outrageous as this hotel has charged us twice after misleading us to believe our card payment had not gone through. We will be escalating this. But my message to those thinking of booking here is to avoid and instead book a hotel with competent administration who don't charge you twice and lie to you about payment problems and who actually resolve their errors, and when they can't do immediately, respond to your emails and calls. I've stayed in many hotels and this experience is the worse. We will be escalating this legally if necessary which is ridiculous. Avoid this cowboy hotel! Ps no coffee at breakfast - it was like Fawlty Towers. Collapse

Cons First off, confusing 3 part car park! The front desk polite enough, but a little labored on arrival. We stayed in Room 703, the walls are thin and we could hear most of what’s going on in most rooms. The air con loud but mostly ineffective. My wife’s main winge about hotels is the poor hair dryer! It would be nice to have a usb charging point somewhere in the room. Pros Good sized room, comfy bed, clean, central location and easy to get to, and I paid a good rate for the night. I’d stay again at the right price. Collapse

Stayed here for a swimming competition from 4th-6th may. This is our third visit to the Hampton and again another great stay. The hotel is centrally located with the station a 10-15min walk away , and the pool 7 min walk from hotel . Staff very polite, excellent breakfast and emaculately clean. We were in room 137 at the end of the corridor very quite so ideal for a good night sleep. The only negitive was the sofa bed very uncomfortable could feel the springs, did ring reception and unfortunately there was nothing they could do they did however bring another quilt cover to lie on but really didn’t make a difference , so just a little note to the hotel please change for future customers. Will def stay again but may need an air bed to place on the sofa bed. Collapse
