Totally over rated Hotel Not very pleasant staff the ones i encountered rude abrupt not helpful at all. Clean average generic rooms but doesn't live up to the usual Hilton standards i left feeling cheated. Some staff don't understand the need for a vat receipt as this was a buisness trip i had to be quite firm to get one from a credit card transaction. My company booking agent also complained that the staff where rude and unprofessional with her during the booking transaction and the issue when i was trying to check in. The check in person refused to talk on my phone with my booking agent and made here ring through the main national system and suggested my agent had booked in the New York Hampton in the most patronising way oh then my booking was miraculously found having been told the was no booking and my agent having to make calls to the front desk via the national number really !!! the person could have spoken to her for one minute and sorted this out on my phone. In the mean time i was left hanging around reception for 25 mins. Good opportunity to read many other peoples not good reviews of similar issues i was experiencing. I would have stayed the five nights but decided after this experience to cancel all but two the minimum i could get out of since she was enforcing the cancelation policy after being so rude. Poor quality breakfast and evening menus looked like microwave dishes just not even close to worth the money. WI FI limited on the free complimentary was a slow and unreliable connection and if i wanted more speed i would have to pay ? Really usefull for work not. Actually pretty disgraceful customer service i do not recommend and will never visit this fake Hilton again. Book a travel lodge half the price and defiantly much better all round. Collapse

I booked this hotel for location as it was near to the centre of Oxford. We had not stayed in this area before. Staff were pleasant and the reception area nice and welcoming. Rooms are quiet and well furnished. My only grouse is that only 4 coat hangers were available, this for two adults. I asked for more and was told that 4 were normal. However they did let us have an extra 3. Breakfast is complimentary ( I do not know why). It was surprisingly good, with hot and cold food and plenty of it. I would stay at this hotel again when I am in the area and think it gives good value for money. Collapse
A massively touristy and busy hotel

I used this hotel recently on business and on the whole it was fine just a couple of points I'd like to make. I was not welcomed as a silver Honors member and did not get my room request. Room was clean but quite basic, no shower cap in the bathroom or a mini bar. Breakfast was literally awful. It's basically in the lobby, no tables are laid and there is no service. It was rammed with people so was insanely busy and very loud. No one cleared the previous people's dirty plates/cups from our table when we sat down or offered us coffee/juice or even welcomed us to breakfast or checked we were eve from the hotel. It was phenomenally busy with tourists and we very nearly had no where to even sit. The breakfast staff were poor. Most of the breakfast items were empty and after requesting refills of various things and hanging around waiting, I gave up. Collapse

Positives - The included breakfast buffet was incredible and alone would be worthy of 5* - Great selection of food and drinks and clean tables to sit at from 6am until 10pm - Bed was clean however very hard and felt similar to a premier in standard Negative - Shower head did not hold itself up so you had to hold it yourself which after a 6 hour drive to the hotel I was not expecting as I just wanted a nice shower and along with this the water pressure is incredibly low, when I mentioned this I was told that is just how it is around the whole hotel. The extractor fan did not work, leaving the bathroom incredibly damp The curtains had mould over them and when we pulled it across further which was disgusting Upon leaving I mentioned this to the gentlemen at the front desk, we paid before arrival however the front desk clearly states that if the rooms are not clean or staff are not polite and you are not happy they do not expect you to pay - I did not want a free room however the response from the complaint was un-acceptable - I explained my concerns and in response I was told 'I am sorry but you have already paid so thanks for the feedback' - A short course on customer service may be necessary Upon paying £120 for a Queen room at a discounted rate I do not expect to find a room in this state or receive such a careless attitude from the staff - I am glad I did not pay what they may originally charge for this room This room was 207 for reference, avoid this room and maybe even the whole hotel as it was appalling and I am appalled that they deem it acceptable for customers to stay in mouldy rooms with non-working showers. I wish I took photos to evidence but having driven for 6 hours to get to Oxford for a single night in our favourite city it wasn't a priority to let it ruin our time until we checked out the next day and were surprised by the rude nature of the staff. We stayed on Monday 14th of August and checked out at around 9:30am the following day Collapse
